Thank you for posting this footage of what was my Grandfather's pub and an important part of my childhood.
We love to hear this!
It was the London Chest Hospital pub. The Landlord was a great supporter of local Charities. I worked in the hospital and lived opposite its gates in Bonner Road from 1963-1968.Then I moved to nurse in St Joseph's Hospice for the Dying.
Pub's still there I'm happy to report - although most of the people in the video sadly not!
The pub is still going strong with quiz nights and lots of middle class professionals drinking inside and outside especially in this amazing weather 😁
I went to Raines (Upper School) in 1991, and remember teachers going there for a pint at lunchtime, and then smoking a ciggie in the staffroom - how times have changed!
A great time to be in London, unlike the Shit we see today.
Just all imagine all the kids are old age pensioners now
London in the 1960's... Everyone had a story about the Krays... You could walk into any Pub and hear a lie or 2 about them... but I was there... And im not careless with the Truth...
If I could have a pint for every one I met in pubs over the years that had either drunk with or had a run in with the krays, it'd be coming out of my ears!
Don't hear so much of it these days since it emerged they were both into underage boys!😉
Proper…. Old,,,, school…’ boozer!!🍺🍻
