Yes noticed a lot of silicone spots and reactions. The primer to thin and dry and rubbed through on edges the gun pressure turned down because of spraying in the workshop. Definitely correct to do again for a car that will be under such close gazes. Not putting down anyones work some jobs are just overwhelming with issues and schedules. And some paint jobs can just fight you all the way. Great project and standard from you guys as usual cant wait to see the end result. Merry Christmas Guys
Thank you for your thoughtful comment. We had too many issues and excuses so we figured rather than continue to battle the paint we would go to a shop we trust for some of our other projects when we get too backed up. We are happy to have Autobahn take the reins and get us back on track.

This is my 2nd favorite car from the series and can't wait to see it completed! My favorite is of course the Lambo orange pearl Toyota Supra and you guys did a banger of a tribute car!

We are glad you loved the Supra build, and hope the Skyline gives you the same sort of feels.
We were able to see the Throtl build in person and it looks so good in person. We like to think we are building different cars with the same inspiration.
The supra build was epic on every level with absolutely meticulous detailing from start to finish. Thus feels a little less to be honest even with the infill to extend the rear inner arches. I couldn't imagine that sort of fix on the supra as I watched all the episodes haha
Thanks so much. The wheel arches on this car were extended via welding metal to widen them to fit the GTR quarters, then grinded down. Filler was used then sanded and painted to give it a smooth clean look. Thanks for watching.
You know what would be great guys Just Driven and Trottl do some meet and greet with all fast and furious related car so we can really appreciate the art you 2 car enthusiast companies can show die hard fan of the franchise and cars on a whole the appreciation how this change our lives forever

The designer of C-West's aero products was originally a Kawasaki employee who was in charge of aero design for the ZXR series and circuit use. At a time when only touring bike plans were being approved, the ZXR400 was tricked into being a touring bike. Naturally, he had a dispute with the company, so he quit and started designing aerodynamic products and making carbon products. He produced the "GT Wing" for JGTC cars, which was well received, and then worked on the aero design for GT300 class cars at C-West. "Despite multiple attempts to point out the mistake, the BNR34 aero kit I designed was fitted with the rear wing tips facing backwards in the film," he said in a blog post.
Holey mother of sheet metal- how many hours do you have just in the body modifications?! That is NOT a fast process and even though you showed a lot of clips of the process along the way, many people will have no idea of just how many days that entire process took. Can you recall, and if not exactly, can you give your best guesstimate?
4 months based off their last video. Which in any shop (that's extremely busy) is about right. 2 weeks alone in metal work it took for mine on 8-5pm hours no weekends spent on it. About 4-6 months till it was ready to be assembled again. Realistically.
@@BoostAlmighty That's kind of what I was thinking, but didn't want to measure labor by the time between videos. Was your project similar in scope and can I ask what kind of car? I've done some sheet metal work in the past with cutting, grinding and hammering (notably on youtuber Casey Putsch's King Zero project car that has since been sold), and I know from my youtuber friends that videos aren't always made on a timely basis. But wow, did this look like a LOT of work, most of it not even shown. For instance, lining everything up correctly before you put that first spot weld in place; all the paper usually used to mock-up your piece before you cut the steel, hammering or wheeling it to the right curve and bend, all those little things. Lots of work, but what great rewards.

Hey thanks for the upload, i got the notification on my phone that you guys uploaded around the time i woke up (which is Florida time actually). By the way, i not sure if you knew this or not. But did you know that the Nissan Skyline GTR was also seen in the end of the movie Fast 9? It was the exact same blue car from Fast & Furious 4. Crazy i know.
We wanted to give everyone a bit of a Christmas gift when they woke up. The Skyline in the 4th installment was actually Daryl's car (at the time). That blue GT-R was then sold to someone overseas.
Yikes..yeah that paint job looked garbage. I didnt like the inner rear guard weld job either..that looked messy and then it got a quick grind and fill job over the top of it.
I wouldn't feel too bad about the paint. Looks about right for a car bought at some Honest Joe's Used Autos kinda place and then resprayed on the cheap by a wanted man. How a GT-R would've got there in the first place is another story.
When you guys were doin the walk around on the excursion there was a suburban in the background that looked like it was being converted to some sort of Overlander vehicle do you have any videos up on that ??? 🤪⛰🚚🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Nah, the one side had been repaired at one point in Japan so he couldn't get the panel to come off. It's off now!
