a weird "self imposed" trick ive used to help ease my aim as junkrat when you cant rely on mines in a 1v1 duel is to aim at the FLOOR in front of a target, rather then the target, think of it like sigma, where you aim at a diag so theres more room to hit the enemy, if you hit the floor, it causes 1) the projectile to move a bit slower meaning its easier for your target to walk into it, 2) makes the projectile lower, so it hits the "beefiest" part of a characters hitbox=the feet, and 3) explodes faster, so its easier to splash onto targets you may miss. im no pro, but i think this kind of tip would work in higher ranks too. with the only real downside being theres potential for the enemy to just...jump over your nades, but its not as easy with hitboxes being bigger now.

I'm playing junk since the start of overwatch 2 And I can say that junk uses much more skill than any hitscan, with hitscan u just aim where the thing is and it will hit, average COD experience, with junk u need to calculate the shots and the positioning (I know every character needs positioning)
Thats with pretty much everyone with projectiles. But unlike some others, junkrat's projectiles are precise. You either hit them or you don't. You can't really graze someone with a mine.

I wish I had the courage the take lower-tier heroes into comp and see if I can make them work. Junk is a really fun dps despite his place in the current meta. People are so volatile in comp, I feel like the moment you make a mistake on one of these weaker heroes, people would just get angry and start harassing you. Props on you for sticking with him for 10 hours straight.
As Someone with 100+ hours on junkrat This is one of the best videos representing the life of a junkrat main! We do require aim. I suck at my shots even point blank most games, sometimes I hit Aquamarine level shots and he's just hard!
As an Ana main, I love a team playing junkrat. I always get dived by a Genji, Ball, Doomfist, Tracer or Sombra. With the last one being an exception, I have always asked a Junkrat to place their bear trap near me. It helps me demoralize the divers to swapping and gives the Junk a few assists.
As a junkrat player, who is easily my best dps, I would say that getting a 3 or 4 k with you ulty is good but a one piece on a support or low health tank can still be really good as it as helped my team win team fights. Another things is that the mines bounce once off walls and twice from the ground so it's good to know for holding angles and spamming
I have about 70 hours on junkrat and im sad you cant really play him anymore Not being able to apply the DPS passive is hard and now getting kills is even harder like you said because of the hp buff I was thinking how it would be if i had a secondary weapons attached to him grenade launcher like an smg pistol that would reload when you would reload his weapon like Baptiste.What do you think about my idea? as someone who only played junkrat, i do agree that you have to be a bit crazy to really juice out his potential not holding yourself and keep trying out risks to the point that they are all calculated risks
sometimes it happens to me with cass. in a few rounds i have a terrible aim... and it's just my own fault. when i take a deep breath and relax a bit, i can focus and do headshots more consistent. If you let the anger, nerves or ansiety take you, you're going to be more frustrated and miss a lot of shots. same thing happens when i play soldier 76: when i get nervous I take bad decisions and my positioning is so bad that the enemies end up killing me easily...
Please use traps wisely. Throwing them down randomly can be effective, but you can use enemy characters positioning and line of sight to predict their movements. Most of the time this will trap someone, as compared to the randomness. I'd say its close if not more than 75% effectiveness.
The only thing Junkrat needs is for his frag launcher to do 140 damage direct hit WHEN it doesn't bounce to walls or the ground (only direct hit with enemy hitbox, 90 damage Splash, from 80). Generally only his weapon should get changes. Either what a wrote before, or his frags to do 125 damage, have 2.5 m radius (from 2), have 6 ammo and 30 meters per second projectile speed (from 25). Those simple changes could make junkrat from F tier to B at least, easily.
as someone that plays junkrat and widow a lot i just feel like they get nerfed quite a bit now and junkrat ult and combo just dont work as they used to which makes me sad but all in all i still have fun doing the sillies with him
Nice vidoe :) it took me one month to get 4 kills with rip tire.. its all about luck of positioning of enemies. Once I played against junkrat who got 4 kills two times in one game..
Junk rat is a flick aimer - but there is 2 ways you can aim with him - 1 of course flicking and 2 is mirror aiming just means if the enemy goes left you go left your aiming with your movement not your reticle
The fun part with junk is i used to predict where there will when my shots fly there a sec later.....now i have had a huge gap so i suck and cant get back
Pre-Patch Junkrat had issues for sure like the fact you could 2 tap twice. A grenade then mine and then you could do it again with a the second mine and a grenade immediately after. BUT taking his 2 tap away completely is crazy and a definite hard nerf. That was not the answer IMO.
Junk rat is special in a way that if you actually can’t miss he is the strongest by far just because of the ridiculous amount of pressure he can put on anyone, his one shot was one thing but his attack has a huge effect on mobility and difficulty defending. Not dps top dog no but definitely a scary guy if you meet a master at him. His just really hard to master
I am a really good junkrat player at times and a very important thing is have a healer with you but if you can do it well you can make some pretty good move and with the deaths is still way to kill with the bomb drop at the time you died so remember that
One of my first games with Junkrat was just dumb because my team called me bad because the tank on our team had a tracer bomb on him and he charged towards me costing the game 😭
I think too many people were abusing Junkrat for his oneshot combo and forgot to actually play him like he's supposed to but most of the time you expect your junkrat to be bad so yeah, rip junkrat, if you don't main him don't play him, your team will hate you if you pick him in comp and do bad...
