My favorite part about this dlc is that for some reason, they thought it'd be a fantastic idea to name the survivor you unlock by default the Seeker. that would be like if Hopoo named railgunner "the survivor," which is just the funniest thing to think about for me.
2:47 no no no The heal does not activate if you do it 7 times. It activates when a person is dead THEN you go to 7th tier I did hours of testing, and my results say the revive mechanic needs an entire overhaul
Damn I haven't really played around with the revive in multiplayer cause my friends I play ror with are away rn but in like the 3 games I got value out of it I thought it was 7. I missed the barrier part untill after writing and recording the script so I missed that but you never notice it.
"Kill an enemy with two or more abilities to generate food that can be picked up by you or your allies." "Oh boy! I can't wait to support my entire squad by stacking food buffs to empower my stats!" "Every recipe is a monster tooth necklace. Take it or leave it."
To be honest I enjoyed the new environments the most. Items aside from the star are kinda poopy I did have a bit of fun with the thorns it synergises a little with stuff like topaz brooch and the barbed wire thingy . Seeker is okay. Chef is sadly kinda bad. Which is a shame because he was one of my favourite in rorr. And the false son I don’t find very fun to play. But the added environments makes looping that little bit more fun personally. I like the variety. And some of the new stages look awesome to me. Only down side is that sirens call used to be my favourite stage. But if I get it when I have a star I feel a little bummed out. Because there’s no red chest.
I refunded the DLC after unlocking everything. No regrets. The team at gearbox have no idea how scaling works in this game or what players would value beyond playing on drizzle. The disconnect is extremely obvious. So unless they rework the survivors and completely reinvent the new items i will continue playing with just one DLC.
The 7th tranquility also gives everyone a one time elixer like effect every stage so its very good in single player too. (Also the tranquility stacks buff all your abilities)
Choosing false sons alt special is based, it allows you to keep your lunar spikes up whilst adding damage, if youre using normal special your lunar ruin runs out whilst youre lazering
i bought the dlc a week ago after the patches, played it for like 1 hour and went "Oh boy." and asked a refund.. Sorry Gearbox but looks like the talented devs left the ship long ago! Plus im sure the stages were already done before and were just scrapped lol
@@SqueakyV i saw that vid and was like holy shit another Squeaky doing a bloons vid no less i have to check this out (it was a fantastic video btw i just wanted to get that joke done so commented it instead of praise im so sorry lol)
I've been a DLC-Doubter since the DLC was originally announced 😎 Memes aside it's very tragic just how much of a terrible launch the DLC had, and that's without even mentioning the DLC content itself. The worst part is despite a lot of the bugs being fixed, I'm not sure about the state of the future of the game considering how convoluted, broken and completely dysfunctional a lot of the content is. Most item descriptions for the DLC items lie to you in some way (Sonorous Whispers says the elite item drop chance starts at 4% but it starts at 3%, the cooldown reduction by stacking is actually much higher than the stated 5%, War Bonds doesn't actually give you (75 * Stage Price Multiplier) Gold, it gives you 50 Gold multiplied by some value that scales off of player level, so you only get the described 75 Gold once you reach player level 16-17 or something), some items don't work properly (Noxious Thorn as of now doesn't actually functionally stack and also doesn't do the stacking debuff thing it says it does, it just *only* applies the base stack of bleed, Luminous Shot doesnt seem to scale with player damage, Warped Echo iirc doesnt benefit from the items youd think itd benefit from, Scrapping multiple Prayer beads doesnt give you extra stats and only counts as 1 prayer beads being scrapped unless you have over 10 so the entire stack doesnt get scrapped avoiding the bug, Electric Boomerang applies bleed if you are holding Sawmerang), and some items are just ??? (Seed Of Life is not blacklisted from the Bottled Chaos pool, meaning you have virtually infinite revives with bottled chaos on multiplayer, The Consumed Seed Of Life actually just lets you *teleport* (i am deadass serious) if you use it right, Knockback Fin is utterly fucking worthless as an item and I genuinely cannot understand anyone who defends it in any capacity) The new enemies seem to have abysmal pathing (The best way to deal with the Halcyonites spawned from the Halcyon Shrine is to make it walk off a cliff because it just goes *straight towards you* instead of pathing properly like other enemies) Scorch Wurms can get stuck burrowing, their fire damage bubbles also become invisible after a few seconds so you can take damage from thin air, and False Son seems to have a hard-coded auto attack when hes close to you which he can do through cover. Prime Meridian just has multiple mechanics that are outright not explained in any way. Treeborn Colony has so many spots where items can fly off the map on average you seem to lose like 1-2 items just from them being launched off the map there, Hatcherys lava is quite hard to see sometimes, some of the Teleporter spawn spots on the new maps are awful. Then theres the basegame bugs. Enemy physics seems to be completely screwed, enemies can sometimes walk through / fall through terrain now, some skills now apply insane knockback (I saw a video last night where someone knockbacked aurelionite halfway across gilded coast using ice spear), elite enemies become nearly TWICE as common past stage 3 because they messed up adding gilded elites to the normal elite pool. Scavengers thquib attack (the orange balls is throws that procs on-kill effects) doesnt work properly and instantly collides with the scavenger. Lunar Chimeras on phase 2 of mithrix can occasionally spawn inside of the pillars. And these are only bugs ive personally experienced, there are a bunch more other people have reported. And these are bugs that are still in the game, im not even picking on the framerate-scaling disaster that was prepatch SOTS. I could genuinely go on and on and on about this DLC and how much wrong there is to worry about this DLC (as if I havent gone on enough already). I wonder how much of the issues were caused due to development crunch since the DLC release was kind of announced out of the blue and had very little hype / build up to it. Ultimately the main people who are suffering for this are the developers who are probably crunching hard to hopefully bring the DLC to a decent state, but this does set a really bad precedent for future content. And it sucks because there are genuinely good parts of the DLC / update but theyre buried under a mountain of broken / bad stuff that its just sad. and havent even talked about Chef omg CHEF IS THE WOR- you get the point.
You summed up the DLC perfectly there were 100s of things I could have talked about items alone deserve its own video of rambling but theres no synergy and it doesnt work.
@@coopstain1728 nevermind i take it back THIS guy is coping so hard. yeah there are like 4 good items maybe but the rest are absolute garbage and it completely dilutes the item pool. seeker feels more like a mediocre mod than an official survivor, and false son (sun?) is needlessly complicated and janky. The stages are also way too big
Items are ass survivors of the void gave the void items which alone top any item in the DLC. I don't get the hate for the maps tho the first stage map is the only one I find huge but I like the other alternate stage 4 cause it's always the sky meadows. I don't think false sun is that complicated like play a couple runs and you'll get the hang of it but it literally just puts the game in easy mode. The other 2 survivors aren't worth it tho.
0:11 Yeah the og Risk of Rain characters fit the label “Survivor” more. Anyways yeah, this DLC sure is somethin’. I like a lot of aspects of it, but despise some aspects. They messed up the item pool with garbage, added really obnoxious elite types, buuuut they added new skins and the stages are good. Oh and the characters are alright.
I had a section of the video which I cut out where I talked about the enemies and patients. The gilded variants are fine but those return damage ones are obnoxious.

I mean, the commandos cannon name is "mr john commando rain" so its not far off
Chef was really undercooked
9:56 DO NOT HIT THE SHRINE AGAIN, I SWEAR I'LL KICK YOU OUT OF MY COOP SESSION, YOU GET LESS ITEMS IF YOU TOUCH IT AGAIN, JUST LET IT CHARGE BY ITSELF
Warbonds should give more gold and have a tuned up version of the gold gun effect of risk of rain 1
I highly doubt they took the time to study ROR1 for inspiration. they didnt even do it with ROR2.
