YES!!!! I always wanted to get in this place. I didn’t think it was accessible plus you would think since the motel office is right across the lot they’d call the cops on you. This is so cool, Parker. I’m so happy you got in here!! That vintage footage you found in the beginning is so great. This was really cool to see.
Regarding the damage: some of what you found was clear evidence of "copper pirates." They bring hammers and bolt cutters. Smash out the tiles to steal the pipes. Knock in walls to rip out the wiring. Sometimes they also burn down buildings; their common method of stripping the insulation off wires is to burn it off, and if they're a bit dim (drugs, etc.) they may do it indoors "so nobody sees the smoke" and end up burning the building. Some of that was just petty vandalism, people kicking the walls. I'm surprised I saw some light fixtures, and they didn't smash the toilets.
dear parker I have lived in Waldorf md my whole life of 15 years I have passed this casino everyday on my way to school I remember when they used to still light up the sign I have always wondered what it is like in there thank you for posting this
This place is about 30 to 45 minutes from where I live. I have been past it so many times. It's a shame that it is so messed up. I don't remember ever going in there. I went to the Stardust Inn several times. Now it is pretty much gone. I saw several singers at the Stardust. I really enjoyed going there. My hangout was The Village Barn in Morningside, Md. They had live music but no famous singers. Me and my friend went there a lot. Have a few beers, dance, just had lots of fun. Those were the good old days. Thanks for bringing back those memories.
The interior seemed like a maze. I'm guessing that second floor entrance you used was there because of safety codes: If there was no way to go outside from the second floor people could have been trapped there was a fire or other emergency on the first floor. What a contrast between the old film footage and the video of today. Still there was some nice woodwork. Maybe some of it can be salvaged but I think the building itself will be demolished; because of its age and condition it would probably be cheaper to build something new rather than fix up what's already there.
Hey Parker, hope all is well! I can't believe i wasn't subscribed to your channel, but that is now fixed. Just wanted to comment and say that i saw in the paper that they were tearing this down! Glad you caught it before that happened. Cheers!
My most incredible memory of Waldorf is of a liquor store that sold mixed drinks through a drive through window. One could literally pull up in one's car, order a gin and tonic and drive away, blissfully enjoying your cocktail as you continue on your way. Different times.
I've stayed there in the motel a few times and partied. it wasn't abandoned because of gambling, it was a restaurant for a long time, and before that it was " revs fireplace", and it's always been a motel. it was only a casino a long time ago.
+Parker Production they tore it down a few years ago. used to be right here, it look like something out of Fallout 3 with the swing sets and garages and all goo.gl/maps/PipcEarHAP62
Let me set you straight. This has always been a restaurant that had slot machines in it. This is located in Waldorf, MD and only had slot machines until the 1960s along with many other locations at the time. It has NOT been abandoned 15 years. It was closed down about 5 years ago because the service and quality of the restaurant went downhill (it was called Rip's at the time). There is a motel behind it which, was (or is) owned by the same people. The second floor you saw was a multi-function venue for weddings, etc. The vandalism you saw is actually very recent due to drug addicts and punks that live around that neighborhood (although, things are getting cleaned up I hear). I used to eat there when I was stationed in the area while in the Navy. I've been through there and I heard that either it will be remodeled to open as a restaurant again or it may be demolished along with the motel as that area is under major redevelopment. In the 1960s, Waldorf, MD was a popular tourist and celebrity destination until gambling was not permitted anymore.
Thank you for the tour, fascinating to see the decline of old iconic buildings after their hayday. Take care and stay safe, greetings from central Australia!
Neat find! Kinda bummed there weren't any slot machines or roulette wheels laying around but still cool none the less.. Not too many abandoned casinos around. Wonder if Atlantic City will look like this pretty soon?
did you check all the floors most casino's have vaults in the floor so if they are robbed the robbers think the standing safe is all they have they keep most of the cash in the floor
Gambling ended in Southern Maryland in 1968. Almost every store had slot machines. I remember that St. Mary's Pharmacy in Leonardtown had a fire. They opened a temporary location next door, and had the slot machines set up before the prescription counter.
I have eaten in the restaurant before , attended a wedding reception upstairs and have bought seafood at Annapolis seafood -Waldorf , md- my hometown- weird to see it this way!! Waldorf is not what is used to he - going down to slums- such a shame!
You're very cool video I like a abandoned places I'd like to see schools college prisons jails casinos hospitals videos like that like you did with this one thank you for doing this I appreciate it and I enjoy your video
Great explore, and must echo everyone elses like of the old footage, kind of Dan Bell style except without the drama. Surprised it did not carry on just as a restaurant, is the motel still operating?
I just stumbled across this video after watching everything from Exploring with Josh, Adamthewoo and This is Dan Bell. Great video Parker, keep up the great work! On a side note your sister is very beautiful. :)
Parker great job, I enjoy viewing ur vids. They allow me to relax&reflect on things b4 my time, lol. U DON'T RUMBLE thru items&if u touch them u put them back n their original position. You were commenting on the holes in the wall to get at the wiring and plumbing... There's another channel called the Shea Show and he lives in Detroit and helps investors with buying, renovating, and renting out homes... Many of the houses are in the same shape... He calls the thieves who do this "Pookie" and "Ray Ray"... 😂

man, all I can find about Oklahoma's abandoned places is in still photos in like a montage setup. no real videos at all. and their are some pretty cool places around here.
Was wondering about that myself, must have been a live seafood tank and maybe some tried to escape, hid behind tank and dried out and died there. Surely would have stunk a bit?
You do great videos! Do you realize when said "This door is locked." (While in kitchen area) You actually could of unlocked from the side you were on? 😉
This is an awesome place Parker, so glad you were able to get in this place, absolutely loved the old photos and videos in the beginning. Also at 8:15 in the video, the water heater on the right says July 11th, 2002. I'm guessing that's when the place was abandoned maybe?
There were other signs in there referencing dates in 2005 and 2007. I live a stone's throw away from this place and it was closed when I moved in in 2011. It and the shabby motel that surrounded it were torn down earlier this year. There were people staying/living in the motel up until it was torn down.
This place would have been a hell hole to work in. for 2007 it was so outdated and had all the hodge podge of floorings and funky 70's look to it. And those harsh rules. UGH

According to Wikipedia, slot machines were legal in Waldorf MD from 1949 - 1968 and there's no way this place was abandoned in '68. Looks like it spent a few decades after gambling as an ordinary restaurant? Place only looks to be about 10 years abandoned in this video.
now you will have to excuse me when I ask you what city are you from? you may have stated but I've only just began watching your amazing video's! second of all we do the same here in buffalo but sadly we never record our journeys sadly because here in buffalo there are soooo many great! abandoned buildings here they stay empty for years we just dont believe in demolishing or salvaging them so they just sit which is awesome for people as ourselves! one example was our former sports arena the BUFFALO memorial auditorium which sat empty from 1996 till just a few years ago but it Was closed off pretty well but as you know probably know if there is a will there is a way we snuck in twice and it was like walking on the moon for us! just wanted to let you know that buffalo if full of rich history and abandoned buildings that have yet to be explored just wanted to let you know that if you ever decide to come to buffalo ny you have a friend who is willing to help and a place to stay thanks for the uploads .
wouldnt it be scary just going through a abandon place and finding a door that goes to a bunker but when you open it you hear screaming and you go down there and find someone being starved to death? or a dead body too. that be sp00kie

+This is Dan Bell. Dan, go there. You could do a fantastic piece on this.
I totally agree with the other commenters here...you should tour this place!

Thanks for the video, I used to drive by it when it was in business.

+CS RAAW Don't be so negative.
Elvis left the building & it followed. Love ya E!
thx for the tour vid I live in Waldorf and have always wondered what this place looked like
I'm from the area, never got a chance to get in, cops are always in the area because the station is very close by. Good job man.
This was really cool and a cool video to film. Doesn't look like any of the casinos now a day or in Vegas. Still a cool adventure.
Thanks Parker Production! It was nice to see the place again. I used to work there before it became Rips.
+Sean Wright that's awesome Sean!
This is cool to see a place I pass everytime I go into Waldorf
My most incredible memory of Waldorf is of a liquor store that sold mixed drinks through a drive through window. One could literally pull up in one's car, order a gin and tonic and drive away, blissfully enjoying your cocktail as you continue on your way.
Different times.
pisses me off when vandalism is so extreme or at all really.
I've stayed there in the motel a few times and partied. it wasn't abandoned because of gambling, it was a restaurant for a long time, and before that it was " revs fireplace", and it's always been a motel. it was only a casino a long time ago.
Yup!
+Parker Production I remember I partied and stayed at the motel with this girl, and woke up to my girlfriend banging on the door, haha.
+Parker Production I saw your video on the jail in York PA. did you go to the abandoned little neighborhood right off of it 83?
+TheBigclow abandoned neighborhood?? I must go lol
+Parker Production they tore it down a few years ago. used to be right here, it look like something out of Fallout 3 with the swing sets and garages and all

They had a great brunch in the late 1990's. I think rips closed around 2000
Let me set you straight.

I remember rips.....and ur exactly right shame it wasn't researched before the comments
It was a "popular gambling motel and restaurant casino".
Torn down now.. commenter gave out the location and all. It's just semantics 👀
Thank you for the tour, fascinating to see the decline of old iconic buildings after their hayday. Take care and stay safe, greetings from central Australia!

The quality of that wood used in the ceiling looks top notch.
Good job Parker! Enjoyed it!
Gambling ended in Southern Maryland in 1968. Almost every store had slot machines. I remember that St. Mary's Pharmacy in Leonardtown had a fire. They opened a temporary location next door, and had the slot machines set up before the prescription counter.
Was this in Waldorf, MD? I know that they used to have slot machines up and down US 301 in MD Back in the '60s
+Mark Emanuele Yes sir!

Nice job parker! This is what we just asked dan bell about a week or so ago.

Awesome video, such a shame seeing all the vandalism.
Excellent video!
The "weird upstairs way to get in" is otherwise known as a fire escape.
I have eaten in the restaurant before , attended a wedding reception upstairs and have bought seafood at Annapolis seafood -Waldorf , md- my hometown- weird to see it this way!! Waldorf is not what is used to he - going down to slums- such a shame!

Surprised it did not carry on just as a restaurant, is the motel still operating?
+mark m Thanks! And yes the motel is still open!
Very Interesting Video!
I don't know why people have to trash those places.
why would anyone do damage like that? destroying someone else's property, can't wrap my head around it.
Great video thanks for sharing
I remember my grandparents taking me here in its hayday
This is the second video Ive seen someone explore this place-The first one has the place not so vandalized. By the way Slow the camera movement.
yeah, getting dizzzzzzzy
Used to eat there, was expensive but very good!
thats all that matters, i would pay extra for very good!
Just so you know, this place has been demolished! It's a big empty lot now.
Facts^ sad to see classic joints go, yet if they are beyond repair..
I just stumbled across this video after watching everything from Exploring with Josh, Adamthewoo and This is Dan Bell. Great video Parker, keep up the great work! On a side note your sister is very beautiful. :)

These abandoned places are notorious for being vandalized by creepers. They must be high on something. It's like wild animals got out of hand.
GREAT VIDEO MAN
You need to slow down, son. But otherwise, you are doing excellent work! I've been binge watching all day
man, all I can find about Oklahoma's abandoned places is in still photos in like a montage setup. no real videos at all. and their are some pretty cool places around here.
Was there a Ripps restaurant at this place?
StangQuest94 yes there was
StangQuest94
There is a Ripps headed north on 301. It has been there for a long, long time. And it's still open.
Great video, you just earned a new subscriber.
+SJP Productions :)
Hard to believe in less than 10 years, this place is so trashed, but mothers little vandals help things along.
every abandoned place has, for some freaking reason big holes made by some nutbar person with deep emotional problems...i just dont get why they do it
Where can I find the clip at the beginning of the video?
This is how horror movies start :)
Ur awesome keep it up
I saw another video where it was mentioned that Elvis stayed and played at this casino once. Early on.
The crabs on the floor are creepy! Was there a seafood tank there at one time that maybe they flipped out of and got lost there, and eventually died?
+Syntania yeah I think so. this place is near the water so the crabs were probably local
I was wondering why they'd be on the floor like that. It just seems so random.
Was wondering about that myself, must have been a live seafood tank and maybe some tried to escape, hid behind tank and dried out and died there. Surely would have stunk a bit?
Yes it had a seafood tank. Remember coming here with my grandmother and get crabs.
amazing video of the floors..try looking up.
That "weird second floor way to get in" is the fire escape, silly. :P
I remember going to many business dinners with my mom at Rips as a kid in the late 90's sad to see it in this condition
Great Video 👍
you can almost hear the clinks or chips on the table and the rings of jackpot in there so sad,
0:10 Seeburg background music system ? :D
So sad to see this place in this condition. Rip's Restaurant was part of the Wayson empire and my mother in law was a Wayson.
You do great videos! Do you realize when said "This door is locked." (While in kitchen area) You actually could of unlocked from the side you were on? 😉

Nice place!! You don't wear gloves?
Those cell phone ban signs are just what today's business places need. This wasn't that long ago. He shakes the camera tooooooo much!
i heard maryland (i lived in bmore city for a year in the late 80s) in the day was a blast.
nice old place
I see that all the time 😂😂🤘🏽MARYLAND Waldorf
This place would have been a hell hole to work in. for 2007 it was so outdated and had all the hodge podge of floorings and funky 70's look to it. And those harsh rules. UGH
It smelled horrible in there while it was opened
I am a lifelong Elvis fan , and will you let me know when he visited there, because I can,t find it, and am always after new info.
+Shaun Boden idiot
I'm actually not to sure but it is true that he came. If you search on the history of Waldorf you will definitely find it.
This place looks like it's been abandoned for decades
This place is sadly no longer around. I always wanted to go here to look for old coins.
I pass this place all the time and now I got nightmares
Experts should analyze why teenagers love to vandalize places like this; there's got to be a good reason.
+nowitsabadtime Heck im a teen and I don't even know.
it's for the thrill of destroying things I think
They want to put their 'stank' on it, makes them feel like a man.
Good Vid, liked the intro with the old time footage, never knew there was gambling in Md. Next time, please hold the camera still, stop waving it around, it was making me seasick, just saying. Wow, @ !7:16, NEMF truck driving by, I used to drive for them years ago..too funny
Great Explore Parker. U drive far to explore I see.
He's only thirty minutes lol I'm the guy that usually explores with him... Well In his earlier vids for that fact
