Why do we say in Chanukah prayers that Hashem gave the wicked Into the hands of the righteous?

It's understandable why it's a miracle that many were given into the hands of few and strong into the hands of weak. But why mention that the wicked were given into the hands of the righteous? The reason may be that the wicked always use the horrendous methods in warfare and it's very hard for the righteous to win over them. Similarly the tactics of Hamas of using civilians as human shields and hiding in hospitals and schools makes it incredibly difficult to win over them and Israel needs a lot of Divine Help to be saved from these murderers.
