Thanks so much, Alicia. It's a pleasure doing these.
Wonderful demo on the importance of experimenting to achieve the colour and the fun of being surprised when finally getting it correct. Thank you Dianne you are an inspiration to us and all your videos are greatly appreciated.
My pleasure. Thanks for watching.
Dianne...you are my mentor in Art🙏🙏 God bless you. I challenge no you tube channel is so rich with content👏👏
Thank you!
Your knowledge of color mixing is amazing and quite inspirational.
Thanks Nicholas. It probably didn't hurt that color theory was my focus in graduate school.
Thank-you Dianne .your teachings are priceless.
Thank you so much!
Not only is this an amazing lesson but your enthusiasm for this made it even better!! Thank you!!!
You're very welcome!
thank you, great watching you match the colours. this has helped me a lot
Have fun with it.
I just found you and you should have way more views. You have taught me so much in a week!
I am delighted. Keep enjoying the journey.
Dianne, you are a gem❤
Thanks!
The way that you demonstrate and explain is ecellent as are your colour wheels. Thank you. Mind you it is a miracle that I can paint at all as when I took my wife to the hospital for an eye check I could not see any of the numbers that were hidden on the charts that they showed my wife, whilst she could see all of them, all that I could see were various sizes of light green coloured circles !
Are there corrective lenses for that?
@@IntheStudioArtInstructionHi, I do not know, I suppose that I have got used to it until I am reminded by my wife when choosing clothing or decorating the house that something is coloured light green and not white or that it is very dark green and not black. I think that males suffer more with this problem than females.
This video is so helpful. It shows the sequence to determine hue, and then match both value and intensity. Thank you!
My pleasure, Kim!
I love learning from you ❤️
Thank you 😊
I'm so glad!
Dianne...I think art museum should Archive all your teachings... historical content which is timeless I think🙏
That's a sweet thought, Sujanith.
Thank you, I’ve never understood the relationships between colours even though I have done courses on painting until now. I am so excited and my enthusiasm has skyrocketed. I think your instruction is the best that’s come my way. I love your roadmap too. Again, thank you.
Wonderful! Enjoy the journey!
I have learned to use the international colour wheel from Bob burridge, but this video was very good too.
In the long run, it is how we use the color that's important. A color wheel is only a guide.
YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY AMAZING...this tip is priceless! Thank you.
Thank you.
Your time and help is so appreciated. Thank you. x
My pleasure.
This is exactly what I was looking for! The best UA-cam channel I’ve ever seen. Thank you so much for doing what you do. Subscribed!
Welcome aboard! And thanks.
Great lesson! Thank you!
My pleasure!
Thank you, Dianne! As always you are an amazing instructor..... Even though I have painted off and on for years, I am finally understanding color relationships. One big take-away from your Quick Tips is the necessity of putting the instruction into practice. Many thanks! I look forward to the next Quick Tip!
Debbie, I am delighted. Enjoy the journey!
Thanks Dianne. I have been using complements for a long time to tame things down, but in the beginning I truly had to take a moment and ask myself how could I get to the color I wanted. Can’t be in a hurry on that. I’m glad you emphasized the thinking part of this.
Enjoy the journey, Heidi!
Thank you so much Dianne. Brilliant as always and very entertaining
Thanks, Christer! Have fun using it!
Thank you so much for this video….very helpful. I’ve downloaded your chart, it’s great!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching.
This is what I NEEDED. Thank you!!
You're so welcome!
Thankyou again Dianne. I spent quite some time following QT’s 225 to 230 and haven’t looked back🙂
WooHoo!
I love learning from you. I had to buy a color wheel for art class but she didn’t go over the compliments for neutrals.
Have fun with it. When you learn to use it, it saves on a lot of trial and error when mixing colors.
Such a helpful video. thanks..
You're welcome!
Excellent. Thanks lots for the information 💐. Extremely helpful indeed ❤️
My pleasure 😊
Another great class!!!! thanks a lot!!!
You're very welcome!
Excellent. Thank you 👌
Our pleasure!
Neutrals are hard for me. Thank you for this. I'm going to cut strips in my color wheel too!
Enjoy the exercise.
Thankyou Dianne.
You bet.
Amazing class looks like magic
From my viewpoint, color IS magic!
such a great lesson thankyou
You bet!
Thank you so much!!
You're welcome!
At 8:54 you said the center grey is equal amounts of blue and orange hue. Do you mean equal volume of each pigment? I though you mix them in whatever proportion is needed to get the neutral.
Gary, I mean equal in tinting strength of the pigment.
thank you, most valuable tip
My pleasure. Thanks for watching.
Hi Dianne - I have hesitated to purchase Daniel Smith Sap Green as I recall you saying you were considering removing it from your palette. Have you made a decision and/or recommendation? Thank you.
Lolita, I keep a tube on hand in case I need it, but I have found that mixing the Rembrandt Viridian and Rembrandt transparent oxide red can give me the same color with more flexibility.
@@IntheStudioArtInstruction Thank you.
I have looked at a few art stores for a color wheel with yela and found none.
Try a store with a southern accent 😊
Gracias
Thanks for watching.
You are soooo good.
Thank you. It's my pleasure to do these.
Why isn't munsell colour system...not preferred by artists when that has both all the possible 1) hues2) values ?
Sujanith, artists are partial to different theoretical systems. In graduate school, I study the all the major ones, but ended up being partial to the traditional one based on the relationship of hues the most flexible to work with. As artists we need to learn to think within the language of color -- the relationship of hues to one another, how hues change in value and in saturation according to what light and shadow are doing to them. No color wheel can show that.
