This song brings tears to my eyes all the time I listen to it. I had to let go of a 6 year relationship that was no longer love there. We were just comfortable and we were scared to leave eachother coz we didn’t want to see eachother with other people. I knew it wasn’t good for me and I fell into depression, stress and anxiety trying to make it work. I wouldn’t eat, sleep and I’ll cry and feel lost with the person I was once inlove with. I remember how much I loved my ex gf. Loved her like no other. Yet she was not at my maturity level and often was disrespectful and verbally abusive due to previous relationships she had been in. I did everything I could to make it work but I realized she needs to work on herself. So I had to walk away even though I truly loved her. I learned you can't love someone else unless you love yourself. The day she loves herself I hope she finds someone who treats her like I did and she treats that man better than she treated me.

This song brings tears to my eyes all the time I listen to it. I had to let go of a 6 year relationship that was no longer love there. We were just comfortable and we were scared to leave eachother coz we didn’t want to see eachother with other people. I knew it wasn’t good for me and I fell into depression, stress and anxiety trying to make it work. I wouldn’t eat, sleep and I’ll cry and feel lost with the person I was once inlove with. I wish him nothing but the best. It’s been a year that we left eachother and I’m still traumatized. How can someone be so perfect in the beginning and how can a beautiful love story just end to something ugly yet scary. Nothing lasts forever.

Was in the same situation. 6 years. We tried. 4 years in we decided to move in together while in college. We had almost just broke up pushed through then made that decision to live together. While shopping for things for our apartment this song came on at the store. I remember she almost started to cry several times. It stuck with me. None of us said anything. 2 years later we broke up in what was the hardest thing either of us had ever done.

The hardest thing anybody can do. It’s to put your feelings at side, and think and do some reasoning when you fall in love with someone, the hardest thing to do it’s to let go of that special person when you both love each other, but you know that relationship is doomed because you are married and have kids, nothing good can come out over destroying a relationship with your family, so no matter how strong your feel about that person you have to let go, for the good of your kids and family, your kids will never never forget you for walking out on them, and that’s the bottom line!! so you have to make a choice and leave with it for the rest of your life, yes it hurts like hell, ain’t easy specially when that person is only one phone call away, but you have to do what it’s right for you and your own family and specially for your own Peace!!! Trust me no peace can come from destroying a family to start a new one!!! So lessen to the “reason” and let go of your feelings. Ain’t easy but you can do it one day at a time, and as the time passes you learn to live without that person, just like this song some relationships should have never started, but unfortunately we make mistakes and have to pay the consequences, so now even if you let go of that person, the Memories are always hunting you, specially when you hear a song like this.
I am dying with cancer and I hid the fact from my now ex for over a year. I did everything to drive him away and finally did without telling him to save him from the pain. I loved him more than anything and still do. Only after the fact did I tell him, but things maybe would have turned out better if I would have been upfront. Dying alown is even harder.
