Even if the statement is just a stupid joke, it's unbelievable how many meat eater dont understand this fact.
Fact is, you need tons of vegetables to feed an animal so it is big enough for slaughter. Also that happens most of the time in bad conditions, for animals and environment. (like in amazonas, where jungle is now field for the cows of mc Donald's and the food for the cows.)
Ok so let's say, you are hungry for a burger l.
That burger is made from a cow, that cow was fed with vegetables for about 3 - 7 years and as you can imagine, this cow ate a lot to become so fat.
Now in the end what do we got?
Amount of meat for 20-40 people?
What did we give?
A) huge fucking amount of water, which is rare.
B) lots of vegetables (not for about 20-40 people , but vegetables which could have feed 300-500 people)
C) cows produce lots of methan and other bad stuff for environment
D) animals get sick, that's why they get a fucking huge amount of pills and chemistry which you eat then, and which also are bad for environment.
All in all, if meat eaters would not exist, only vegetarians, there would be enough food and water for the whole world, the environment would get better and everyone is happy.
So, I understand meat eaters, they are to lazy to be a vegetarian, they cannot afford it or are just too stupid, and I'm absolutely fine with that. Just try to eat as less meat as possible.
But what really grinds me gears and triggers me, is when vegans and vegetarians get this amount of disrespect nowadays while they are trying to safe the planet, or do it for the animals and humanity. Most vegetarians are good people who care about their planet. That's something which is honorable in every other aspect, like if you recycling or don't drive the biggest car which drinks fuel like water or if you care for the environment.
But as soon as someone is a vegetarian and cares for the environment everyone is pissed and angry with them and makes fun of them
