I would love to see a video where you show how many books from the TBR box you have read. I think that would be fun 😆

Your book analysis is extraordinary. You obviously are extremely intelligent and interesting too. That said, well done on this video. Wow. A Thousand Splendid Sons deserves your full attention. It is a book that while reading you understand the author must be a genius. Fantastic dialogue.

I've just discovered your channel. I started a lot since 2019 but during the lockdown started reading much more (my girlfriend as well). I'm going to look at some of your past videos to get ideas. Thank you for sharing your reading experiences.

I loved the more in depth reviews, they sounded brilliant. I have two Thomas Hardy clothbound classics, both as yet unread! I'd love to read it's not about the burqa.
Good luck with war and peace!

I didn't know anything about Tess of the d'Ubervilles, but I think I can safely say now that I don't want to read it! Haha. Thank you for going so in depth with your review, it was really interesting to hear.

Absolutely adore Tess. My favourite Hardy so far. Would loooove to see you do a Page to Screen video on the various adaptations! I really enjoy those videos and hearing your thoughts on them. Thanks Lauren! :)

I really want to read It’s Not About the Burqa, I heard the editor talking on some podcasts and the way she talked was so interesting and astute. I’m glad you loved it and I’m definitely going to try it

It's Not About the Burqa sounds so good. I have always meant to join in with you guys but I put too many projects/things on my plate...lol. I started an Indie press thing and next year I am part of a group doing an around the world thing and I have a real life book club, and another group on instagram so that is already...a LOT. Hahaha. Maybe I will take a peak at your books when you post them and try next year...

Love the gift recs idea! I'm looking for a book for my mum, preferably of the heartwarming kind. She loved Ogawa's the housekeeper and the professor and liked Madeline Miller's Circe, and doesn't love a cold or matter of fact writing style. Thanks :)

Fantastic book chat Lauren! Really appreciate the way you discuss your reads. Very engaging and inspiring.
Love Tess. Must reread soon. Plenty of Hardy I need to get into actually.

I want to read War and Peace next year so will look forward to seeing how you get on with it in December. Good luck! 😊

Tess of the D'Urbervilles sounds so heartbreaking with her being so young and innocent and naive as well. I have been curious about that one but have never gone ahead and read it yet :3 I really want to read it's not about the burqa and it sounds like the variety of voices sounds so well and really shows how experiences differ across the grid! Great wrap up x

I'm finding reading a great distraction from other stuff this year! We had to move our wedding that was meant to be in April, now have had to cancel it at that venue completely and have rearranged with just a month's notice at a registry office for 27th December with between 2-4 guests... it's been stressful 😂 I'm approaching my 100th book.. this will never happen again!
P.s. good luck with War & Peace!

I just finished The Rise of Kyoshi and I liked it‼️ Also I have two chapters left in The Song of Achilles, and it’s so sad but I’m ready as I’ll ever be!

October and November were really good reading months for me (especially since I read about 3 books in the previous 2 months) but I've been distracted since the news broke Saturday night that my job was closed for 2 weeks due to a couple coworkers testing positive for coronavirus. I'm currently reading Giovanni's Room by James Baldwin

Oooh, how to buy for a family member whose political views are opposite yours, and any book can be construed as a protest statement? She likes thrillers/suspense romances, has two sporty, Fortnite-playing boys, and a husband who I'm just sending Texas-shaped chocolate. Something meaningful but not threatening? ... You asked, Lauren! 😂
