Come on man yesterday wasn’t to bad I got a run and ride in but today but was a little gross got a little snow earlier in the day nothing to write home about just some flakes
@@Cade_Media I'm certainly thinking of popping to Spain on the ferry to avoid all the flying hassle. By the way, will you be putting your route somewhere? I'm struggling to work out where you are day to day.
Awesome video. I spent a good part of the day yesterday watching your Project USA series. Absolutely a blast to watch. You and your gang had me grinning the whole time. Stay safe out there. Hope to see you do another country in the future. May I suggest Japan? Their roads are absolute butter.
I love how Chris is so positive climbing - good for the legs! good for the lungs, good for the life, good for the soul! - generally Im saying 'WHY!??! terrible idea!'
What roads and main climb today.....and the views, WOW all day long 👌FC & Chris's bike packing Vuelta stage there! Muy buen caballero 😃 Was that Chris singing "geordie Congo? "🤭 Definitely sounded like that to me ! Nice one Chris👍a well earned cerveza gents 🍻
Really really got the impression that the day was just perfect. Tail wind, short climb, and down hill the rest of the way. I really liked the fruit trees blossoming.
Another great video from this trip with top views and editing. That Faith No More track took me back to my yoot (do you not get a copyright ping for using it though?). Great choice.
Particularly lovely vid today, careful of those caterpillars, the little hairs on them can detach and cause a reaction for some people if they get into your eyes (or worse lungs). Great bit of Faith No More too, maybe some "Woodpecker from Mars" on a fast section might work well.
Nature Watch pt2: the blossoming trees are almond trees. That climb to Calar Alto is spectacular. The observatories are amazing! Did you climb from Serón or descend that way? PS glad you fellas have sorted out your pronunciation of Almería 👍🤣
Yeah the almond trees are stunning and the climb is incredible. I did part of it in Badlands last year and was keen to go and do the full climb. We climbed from the side that goes past Aulago, with the elevation going up from the Aeródromo de Gérgal. We then descended down towards Purchena. On Badlands you do the descent to Gérgal too but I did it at night and unfortunately didn’t get to see the incredible views
@@ChrisHallRides spectacular mate. I stayed near Serón last year with the family and it's really nice. Gérgal is right next to the Desert of Tabernas which is your Badlands ref I believe along with most of the spaghetti westerns. Again another place well worth visiting. Enjoy the rest of your ride fellas, looks like the worst of the climbing is behind you. Really enjoying this series as it's mostly familiar to me💪💪💪
great videos as usual...great to see a different environment...i've ridden a little in that area, but more east I think. What was the name of the climb? A decent of the Velafique in January a few years got me the coldest i've been on a bike - needed a down jacket...only had a light wind jacket.
Careful with thoes caterpillars they look like pine processionary moth caterpillars, they can cause skin rashes and respiratory issues especially if disturbed... They can shoot tiny hairs out. Looks like a great ride though thanks for sharing the adventure 👍
I love this trip, it's got it all! Huge props for the FNM soundtrack today. One question, why not wear gloves all the time? I couldn't do without mine, even fingerless gloves on a hot day help.
The really disheartening thing about watching you and Chris climb hills, is the fact that the pair of you make it look so damned easy!! Anyway, great vid as always.
So I can see why those Patagonia jackets are soooo good. Even if you are going somewhere warm(Brittany in June 5 days for me) Could you say a bit more about fueling in a video. Something I've been really thinking about. If your spending most the day riding, 70 miles a day four 5 days is completely new for me. I'm used to 3 and half hour rides to 4 and half on Sundays and a couple of hours in the week. A couple of bottles tailwind nutrition will be used up on a summer ride. Any advice would be much appreciated.
It’s a limited edition Lazer Genesis they released a few years ago in chrome. You can still find them on occasion. The glasses are the Sungod Vulcan full frame in the clear plastic with the blue lens
Indeed! Fun fact, Albuquerque was founded in 1706 and named after Francisco Fernández de la Cueva, 10th duke of Alburquerque. Everyone here knows New Mexico was controlled by Spain at the time, but I didn’t realize how much the landscape looks like Spain.
Surprised how many in the comments have even heard of faith no more... thought I was one of the few grey beards old enough to remember it.... I mean you say you freewheel down a mountain, I actually still use one 😆
Those caterpillars are actually processionary moth and you'd rather stay away from them (don't ride over them) or you'll be scratching your skin off non-stop.
Would you take chain lube with you for a trip like this? If you don't wash your bike does it need it? Just curious watching Chris lubing his chain! Awesome content as usual!
I've really enjoyed these videos of the trip through Spain. The humour has been great and the editing and music has also been lovely. Nicely done!
thanks for watching!
Love the Epic inclusion on the soundtrack and Chris´s genuine stoke after the descent! Keep loving it up. 🚲🚲❤
Loving the Faith No More soundtrack!
Looks f-big epic!!! Love seeing smooth roads and great scenery and hardly any cars
Thanks for bringing us along. I’m living vicariously through you since I’m in the cold wet dreary PNW of America

@@sickboyrari708 it’s bad compared to Spain lol
Just simply stunning, can fully understand a slow descent to appreciate the views.
Another thumbs up 👍 here, for the faith no more soundtrack 🤘. Great to see a bigger trip back on the channel- looks fantastic.
What an epic choice of tune over the top of that climb. Looks like a brilliant part of the world to explore by bike.
So good! So so good. What a day out go you two love the banter too.
Beautiful descent - definitely going into the Komoot collection when Chris posts it 👍
Stunning footage on that descent - top work
Stunning scenery. I could almost be tempted to have a go at such a climb, even though it would nearly kill me!
Do it!

Loving the trip guys and good to see you enjoying Al Mer ria!

Great cycling track! 😄
The mojo is back. Classic Francis Cade!
Kinda looks like the Goldeneye multiplayer level Complex a little from this side of the screen.
Yet another great vlog with a little touch of humour from Chris keep it up 👍✊️
Brilliant! Your edit soundtrack is far superior than your on the bike music choices, thus far.
3:50 was an awesome Walrus reference.
Yessss
I love that I can ride up mt hood quite often. Portland to timberline and back. 135miles. Almost 7k climbing.
15 miles uphill.
💪
Not going to give my time though. 15.9 mph average. Not bad for 50 years old

Whats music in 5:25
It's pronounced "KI-YAY Alto." Literally "high road."
Also, love the little bit of Kill Bill early on. It's on one of my cycling mixes, too.

Francis, do you check the gellies ingredients for gelatin?
Weirdly enough I was just filming a piece to camera about this - I haven't found any sweets with gelatin in yet!
@@Cade_Media it's curious though. Usually the gelatin free ones that use pectin instead are way more expensive.
Wild Ones puffer jacket hitting the shelves soon??
Can I ask what you do about travel insurance for a cycling trip? I'm going away soon in France and not sure what to do. Cheers
Tail finn good name is the alluminum.just as good given a few grams..?
Yes I have that one at home and it's just a little bit heavier but does the same thing 👍
I am shocked how much this looks like the climbs near my home in Albuquerque, NM, USA.
Then, go to Alburquerque, Badajoz, Spain. ;)

Kudos for Faith no More song
You do realize the rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain, right?
Doesn't the "rain in Spain only falls on the plains" not up on the hills/mountains.
FAB!
😍Hellooooo x
I don't know the reason why but I was not expecting Faith No More. Bonus 👌
