This has always seemed like one of the most fun 'really hard' pieces to perform. Not like Liszt, where you're wondering if fingers can even move like that or Rachmoninoff where it seems rather splashy at times. Similar to Moonlight's 3rd movement or Flight of the Bumblebee, it seems like a hard song that you'll have a ton of fun learning to be honest.
It's not that hard, late intermediate to early advanced at best, definitely easier than Liebestraum no 3 or Rach's Prelude in C# minor, especially if you don't push the tempo. It's far, far below harder Liszt or Rach pieces but the piece sounds super impressive, and is certainly a blast to learn. Beethoven is what I can, without any single doubt, call a genius. His compositions were only meant to be played by the most skillful musicians that ever lived. He, who was born almost 253 years ago, is still one of the rarest human beings of exceptional creative and intellectual power, setting new standards, levering very high bars to future generations to surpass. Imagine directing an orchestra you can't hear? Imagine creating musical chores for the piano and an entire orchestra? He was temped to take his own life when became completely deaf but destiny had other plans. He had conscious that he was extraordinary and his Art held him back in his suicidal thoughts. With his own words: “As the leaves of autumn wither and fall, so has my own life become barren: almost as I came, so I go hence. For, ah, it seemed unthinkable for me to leave the world forever before I had produced all that I felt called upon to produce.…” And he produced, produced, produced still and left a legacy of ingenuity & musical maestry. I love all of the Pathetique movement
Damn so beautiful ~ Beethoven is the man, thanks for keeping his music alive for me to enjoy~~
The Pathetique Sonata. Though not even close to the hardest of Beethovens. Remains one of his most beautiful and delicate pieces today
damn good performance, also dat render time lol
Thanks! Yeah longest record so far
Thank you for playing any of the movements on this sonata. Love Pathetique, Apassionata, Moonlight, and Emperor. Even if I didn't spell them correctly. Listen to them from a musical appreciation point of view, if you will. Thanks, again!
1:36 when you didn’t study for your exam

I love the tension here at 1:35
finally. thanks for this. there should be a spreadsheet to keep track of who's doing which piece so more get done in the end.
I listened to this and it instantly became my favorite piece. Thank you for playing it so well :)
Thank you too! Glad you like this rendition
Swinging back through to give this one another run.
I always wonder what the old-school composers like Beethoven would do with the composition technology of today. Definitely food for thought!
Anyway, please have a terrific afternoon, The Flaming Piano!
Thanks! They'd probably do a lot with the synths, revolutionize music again
Or, at the same token, maybe Beethoven would have grown up some kind of Call of Duty player, never even getting into music in the first place... I guess we'll never know!
Listened to this on the way to work today. Beautifully played.
Amazingly played!
great Beethoven Pathetique Sonata! nice piano playing
I LOVED IT. I'M SO GLAD YOU POSTED THIS!
Great performance! you have very much talent, i can see it. I'm looking forward to see you playing some other pieces :)
Thank you very much! You can check out the rest of my Pathetique sonata cover too!
My mom got to play this at Carnegie Hall back in 1988! She love your performance and says you should go play Carnegie hall 😁💖
I'm flattered. Thank you very much! I hope someday!
Wow... I am obsessed! Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful talent and making it fun to watch!
I used to enjoy classical music in Tom & Jerry as a kid and wanted to play those beautiful pieces but the piano is a hard work and long hours of practice. I used to play few lines of this piece. I must remind myself of it. Love it
Be patient, enjoy the process and keep going!
At 6:21 how do you voice like that??? Ive been trying so hard but i am nowhere near to getting it to sound like you do, i can play it technically at that speed but it sounds almost like we are playing different notes? When i put it at 0.25 speed it sounds like the notes when I play it
Not sure. I just play it as is with that fingering. Maybe accent each beat and play the left hand more softly
The Flaming Piano thanks! Wonderful playing of this piece

Excellent Performance!
Clean and passionate
Thanks a lot! MIDI editing does help hehe.
Wow! You are so talented! I just finished learning this movement (I went out of order and learned the 2nd first) and I cannot play at the tempo you play at yet without getting sloppy... I'm getting there though! I love this piece so much :)
BRAVO! As an Intermediate I could only play the 2nd movement, wish I could play the 1st and 3rd movement as I progress.
you’ll get there !! I BELIEVE IN YOU!! it took me about 6 months to only get the first 5 pages down of the first movement LOL
2nd sounds great tbh the third isn’t too hard I’m playing all three movements for my yearly piano audition or like national test and this year I need 14 songs
This is amazing! I love the dynamics of this peice. One of my fovourites. I also loved the way you edit aswell. You earned a new sub. :)
