Of those 13 years, we spent 5 wasted on a coalition with the Loony Dafties, then another 5 on Brexit, then 2 years on Covid, so about a year of focus on the economy under Rishi, a man not even the Conservative Party membership would elect as Prime Minister. Still we could have had Corbynomics, so I suppose we should be grateful for small mercies.
Tax cuts for business or tax deferral? If a business can grow, should you tax it early or should you let it grow and then take a share of the compounded value? Until politicians and pundits can explain these principles, there will continue to be an intellectual drag on UK tax policy. Compounding works.
What an embarrassing budget…if you consider the worlds biggest developed economies like Germany Australia USA, all heavily invest in infrastructure and manufacturing, UK does not. Also places like Texas have very low taxes for consumers like fuel, sales tax which encourages spending. UK government taxes it’s citizens into poverty Reduce VAT to 10%, Cut fuel duty in half and stopping giving handouts
