  • Knights, Fools and Clerics. The New London Consort performs a selection of songs from the original Carmina Burana manuscript and the Feast of Fools, a medieval festival in which the clergy parodied the church's own rites for a day.
In conversation with Michael Oliver , Philip Picket highlights recent trends in the performance of early music.

Thanks very much for uploading this! Along with the Clemencic Consort, the New London Consort's interpretation of the C.B. is the best. Really great to see 'Hiemali Tempore' and 'Tempus Est Iocundum' performed live; the beauty and power of the music is astonishing.

Picket surely knows how to play his recorder. And he will be more than wiling to stroke a few notes with you, if you are an adolescent girl. However I'm afraid that now someone's is playing with his recorder in prison. DON'T DROP THE SOAP, PHIL!
