    However, I think a product(s) that are worth mentioning are CG VRP and if they have it, Meguiars hyper dressing (I don’t think all Walmart’s carry it). They both can be diluted, very versatile and can Cabernet sprayed on tires, engine bays, trim and what have you and walk away, the product does the rest. Another tip with hyper dressing is you can spray it on dirty areas (actual dirt like dried mud), let it sit and it will actually help break down that dirt and you can come back and clean up the excess and it turns out fantastic! Extremely useful for stubborn mats and SxS’s.

      Each product has its place. You should know that a quality wax can do things for gloss and depth the best ceramics can only dream of. If you are getting your classic or exotic car ready for a concourse etc. wax is what you need if max gloss and slickness is what you want. It won't last long, but it can take a paint that is polished to 94 or 95 to 96+. Put a ceramic on that, and it will probably drop or stay at 94 at best. Simply put, wax can do things for gloss and depth that is beyond ceramics etc. That's just how it is. Of course, those are not common, and thus a ceramic or other modern sealant is preferred.

    What are the best steps to take to turn your detailing hobby into a actual business. Are there Town licenses that I required I know there's got to be some type of insurance requirement. I already have all the equipment and tools to get started. Just was wondering what steps I need to take in order to consider to yourself a business as a mobile detailer or detail from your home.

    • @stevenjames3242
      @stevenjames3242 2 роки тому

      It may be different for each city, much less States. Insurance is a MUST for your own safety, if you accidently burn thru clear coat or something like that, you want to be protected from that for sure. As far as licensing, up here you need a business license (legally) even for mobile detailing, but i know people who kinda just wing it. If you go brick and mortar, you go before licensing board and city council before opening the doors to get all needed approvals.. But that is just my city.. Other towns just want a business license and if you are brick and mortar you open in commercial zone.

      Yes. Use demineralized water and dilute it 15:1. If that's too little foam, use more.
      Now we are all different, and like different things. If you have not yet bought that soap, you might want to look elsewhere. My personal experience is that while it foams, it also leaves a nasty residue after use. Their new snowball foam or what ever it's called, is more foamy and does not leave a residue.

    Headlight restoration kits are a huge ripoff and I'm surprised a professional detailer is promoting them. All you need is Mother's aluminum polish and two microfiber cloths. Apply polish to a damp cloth and polish the headlight until clear, then wipe it off with the dry cloth. 5 minutes each side and it's good for two years minimum.

    I can't stand Maguires gold class soap, I've never had luck with it after using it. It leaves a nasty residue. I actually hate that soap and will never use it again.

      It's interesting how many soaps leave nasty residues. Funny enough, I hate his number 1 pick on this list for that reason. Aside from the residue, I think it's a terrible prewash.

    I Gotta Say One Of The Products I Don't Recommend is Meguiars Hot Rims Wheel And tire Cleaner, it's Acidic And Will Eat up Any OEM Alloy Wheels Finish. It's Terrible And Has A Terrible Smell!!

    • @AB-80X
      @AB-80X 2 роки тому

      I think you have missed something there. The pH of that cleaner is 13.5. It is not an acid wheel cleaner. It is basically a degreaser which acts as wheel cleaner. I know most pro's including myself have used it in the past, and it is perfectly safe for any painted OEM wheel, which by the way, goes for most OEM wheels. Unless you do something stupid like leave it on for 10 minutes while keep wetting it, sure, then it's going to cause issues, but it's meant to be on for like a minute or so. You use it much like you would an actual acid based wheel cleaner. On top of that, it has next to no smell to speak of. Want an acid wheel cleaner that smells like an acid wheel cleaner? Try Superior Products Wire Wheel Cleaner. That crap is just diluted HF.
      The only Meguiar's which is a real acid wheel cleaner, is the Wheel Brightener which is a very popular cleaner in the pro world which also works great on painted OEM wheels. The Hot Rims Chrome wheel cleaner is acid based, but very mild. The main issue with using that on a normal alloy wheel is just that it does not really work and do anything.
