Sun chooses to stay when her husband shows her the white flowers he used to give her before working for her father. So she thinks maybe the man she loved is still there. These are the flowers of love.
The French cover of the song "House of the rising sun" is called "le pénitencier" (the penitenciary). A prison like the marriage of Sun who tries to escape has become.
The flashbacks are so interesting to know why the characters act this way or that way in the present. I remember seeing the series once in chronological order, all the flashbacks before the present on the island. It was less good because we had time to forget why the characters were like this because of moments in their past. Condensing them in the same episode has much more impact.

So obviously when this aired this was 12 yrs after the l.a. riots and it was a tremendous powderkeg and alot of stores owned by Koreans were looted and destroyed and I clearly remember a whole bunch of incidents involving Koreans against black and latinos so yeah alot of mistrust and suspiciousness amongst everyone was there

I think of Jack's lack of thought regarding a signal-fire plan, as well as his insistence that everyone move to the caves, is part of some obsessive savior complex.

Yeah, the first time I watched this I thought, well, they could set up rotating shifts for the beach, to keep watch and keep the fire burning. That wouldn't be that hard. Four or six hour shifts at the beach should be doable with 40 something people. I guess it just didn't work for the story the writers wanted to do. That's the problem with trying to be too practical with this show. It's a story. It's not an examination of how to survive on an island. It's a mystery story essentially. So sometimes, we just have to press the 'I believe' button and move along.

I'm happy you brought up Sawyer's accent.
Originally, the writers of Lost wanted him to disguise his southern accent. But they loved his voice so much, as the show went on, his southern accent comes out naturally.

Sun's husband is a very complex character, he does stupid things, but I feel sorry for him, he is a hostage of a situation from which there is no way out, and he needs time to figure out how to live on! he used to be a slave of his wife's father, and now they are stuck on this island like in prison! the big question is which is worse

I don't see what the big deal is. The cave is basically a 20 minutes or less walk from the beach. Unless there was an emergency or a crisis, I see no reason why those who preferred to stay on the beach shouldn't do so.
Sawyer was from Alabama. So is actor Josh Holloway. Locke wasn't really giving Charlie a choice about the latter's addiction. He was manipulating the latter into making a choice. This is the wrong way to deal with addiction.
