I don't think Jenny has any tact, or consideration for Rita, whatsoever. Asking her what she thinks Alan might need in jail! I wish Rita would tell the rude little brat straight..."Alan needs a slap!"
Jenny was, and I believe continues to be, the most horrible cow, the street has ever known.
More like the chair or a good stoning... A slap wdnt suffice
Rita should tell her to take a rope and suggest Alan hxng himself.
Curley in the supermarket and The Beatles, "She's Leaving Home" is playing. 😭😭🤣🤣
Thank you for the upload.
Any scene involving Kev in the Garage = fast forward 😂
Thankyou so much for these episodes xx
I must say, I preferred Dierdre's poker straight hair of the '70s and early '80s. It's her poodle perm phase now!
I think she was sponsored by Vosene at one point..she had such shiny hair and was so pretty with it straight.
Still looks better than your hair, don't think you could do anything with your thin lank hair
Well that was uncalled for
@@irenemorley75 shove off Irene.
Whats she ever done to you??
It just struck me who Derrick is. He’s our hyacinth!
Bet looks so much better without the wig and all the slap. But I know that's her character, so ...
Mavis and Derek were very close friends in real life. When he was written out she said I'm out of here too!
With Jenny Bradley in the house, Rita best keep an eye on the biscuit -tin.
I went to the Granda Television Tour when I was in England, in 1990. Granada don't just produce Corrie, they have an interior Parliament set that production companies use; they have Baker Street with 221B Sherlock Holmes flat / street, and of course, Coronation Street!
The street exterior set in those days was 2/3rds scale and they used wide angle lenses on the cameras to make it look bigger.
The houses you see in the street are only one storey, no upper level,, and are used as costume and lighting stores; and back then, the writers of the show had their offices in some of the houses.
The Rovers, is a time/space warp in reality:
The "Select" function room just couldn't have existed - it would have been on the road. But we ignored that, lol.
And why did we NEVER see anyone's front rooms?
At the end of the street, behind the viaduct, is a huge sound stage where all the interiors were filmed, they filmed the exteriors in the Street on Mondays (hence continuity errors from exterior to exterior and visa-versa.)
I paid £25 (which was a lot in 1990) to do this video. My brother and I went into a bluescreen/ chromakey set and leaned on a "bar".
There were the lines we had to say printed on a giant board that kept eyeline in-tact, and when the light came on, you said the line.
Unfortunately, we couldn't hear the other pre-recorded actors, and so we had no context to what we were saying, so it does sound a bit flat and disjointed.
But this was the result and to this day, we're lucky to have experienced Television history.

It's been decades since I had a chance to visit on the Street. Now that I am in my 60s I find Mavis and Derick very disagreeable.
Hahaha! Know your place Derick, no executive loo for you!
£20 rent a week, those were the days.
With wages at around 2 pounds an hour, it was a lot when you see what those small grocery purchases cost! And a pint of bitter!
Wish it was still £20 a week, nearly 45 years later. I'd be a millionaire if not a multi millionaire on benefits. As it is, its 47.5 times, £20 for a two up, one down back to back with nice size garden for the dog. It sucks, big time, but it would suck even more big time if I was working, as being dual sensory, hearing and sight impaired, I'd earn less than half as much with no benefits. Best I can hope for, is a part time job, no more than 16 hours per week of course, which would really help me out, but who wants to employ folk with disabilities in this day and age, other than the BBC or the local borough councils where we all live? and I certainly wouldn't work for either of them.
35 years not 45 x
Felt SO heartbroken for Curly 😞 x
Kevin played that scene where Shirley called round brilliantly 😢 I don’t think Shirley had any major storylines before they got together did she, just chipping in now and again at the factory.
@@zanducktv2398 Kevin?? Did I miss something, what did Kevin have to do with it? Thought he was busy thinking he was a big man in a shitty garage.
@@MarcoNegrisEye Kevin Kennedy I mean, who played Curly.
@@zanducktv2398 aaaah. Well that makes sense. Had a few and just seen Kevin and Shirley. Thought I'd missed heaps of episodes somewhere.
@@MarcoNegrisEye Lols, character/actor confusion 😝 I should’ve put his full name in the first place to clarify, blame me lol.
The actress who played Shirley was claiming benefits whilst working on the show for many years, now she is a councillor like Deirdre but for fostered children instead.
Wow, being on tv, is not a great cover to rip off welfare lol 😜🖖🇦🇺📺
Bet is her own worst enemy.
Kevin complaining about Mark taking time off e5c., I remember when Kevin was slipping away going to see his Dad in the Yard all the time.....RBrian complained about that too.
Kevin shouting and stuffing his face ,Martin tutting ,sighing and clicking..fast forward fast forward .
"Huh, eh, tut, sighhh, mumble-mumble, sniff, clears throat".
That just about covers Martin's lines haha
🤨
20p for a packet of mints. Nowadays that wouldn’t buy one mint.
I know and I can't believe the totals in the corner shop. Someone has a big bag of shopping and Sally says £5.20 or something 😮
Derek bought half a lager and a grapefruit juice for Mavis - it was about 68p for both lol happy days
Wow does Alf forget what it was like for him when Audrey went to Canada all that time, and she was coming back...not leaving for good.
Can Emily not just be single? She really has terrible taste in men. Ernest Bishop could bore the paint off the walls, and her second husband was a bigomist. Jesus woman!
😂😂😂
Love Alf Roberts a great man
Kev answering the phone call from Mr. Wolfenden, Mark’s played by Stuart Wolfenden!
Great acting from Curly. Meanwhile Shirley is dressed up like an Easter egg.
Easter egg 😂😂😂
Dierdre has beautiful hair when left long and smooth.not the frizz she has now....
''His lies don't sound like lies'' -Rita.
Curly and Shirley... didn't they play back up for Wham! 🤔
Think that was Pepsi & Shirley but I see what you did there!😉
Rita is wrong because she is letting Jenny live with her.
Jeny keeps saying my dad didnt mean to hurt u rita, he had a cushion on her face trying to smother her ffs is jenny thick?
Derek to the rescue he was, Mavis's ' shite in whining amour'.
😂
Derek is so unlikable. No wonder he ended up getting axed from the show.
Eight years later...
Thelma quit because they axed him too.
Poor Curly, thrown on the scrapheap. Him and Shirley ought to have made it but she wanted a fun life Curly couldn’t give her.
I think she wanted to be with someone who was less self absorbed, more communicative and capable of having some fun. Curly is a business studies student at the poly, not a scientist on the verge of a breakthrough discovery, he could have made time for Shirley and his studies. She was wasted on him.
Thankyou Emily for everything - Oh my goodness i have to say im rather shocked Emily had let Aurthur have everything - Im just glad they never showed it on screen
Curly and Shirley sound like Two Stooges in search of a third ...
Dippy Derek mousy Mavis two dumbbells together
Agreed. Arguably the most pointless Corrie characters of all time
Dereks subtle but very controlling of Mavis
I'm sorry but Mavis's voice is like chalk on a slate. I had forgotten why I would fast forward the parts she was in.
I'd like to know what drugs she's on! She's off the planet! Agree totally with you 🤪🍻📺🇦🇺
Episode 2924 Jack Duckworth Started Wearing Reading Glasses
Exciting, wasn't it?! 🤪
Curly has gone insane
1:03:54 poor Curly. She was a really nice person, it's a shame they split ~ they would have made nice children together. ❤
46:35 how can there be "some FRESH boiled ham int fridge" for Jenny's dinner if Rita tells her this in the morning meaning she must have bought it at least the day before? 🤷🏻♂️ That's why I'm here 😂
That in the UK, is deemed fresh.
@@londonlady227 not in my part, although we had to kill it with our bare hands if we wanted fresh 😜
As good as tinned ham! 🤢📺🍻🇦🇺
When it was on G plus it was November/December 2001
Kevin getting a little big of power get to him he seems to forget where he came from and how he messed about when Brian was in charged
That handbag of Bets always looks fit to burst…what on earth does she keep in it?!
I thought that also maybe her 100 fags lol 😂
Why are the prisoners dressed like they are going to Walmart? If they escaped, you couldn't tell the difference between them and a regular person. 😂
.. yeah the orange look has never caught on over here.. lol
Not brilliant that doctor at predicting the future of Derek "I think you'll last quite a while yet"
Witch Doctor 💀
8 years later....road rage got him.....
"It's no good sittin up there feeling sorry for yourself like a big girl!"
2:54:30 Just realised that's Jill from I'm Alan Partridge, she was also the pub landlady in Hot Fuzz
Poor Curley.
The old Morrisons store in Eccles town centre...Now long gone...Oh, no...That means the start of it being 'Bettabuys', and the arrival of Reg Holdsworth and Kimberly...
Curly can pay his own bills now. 😅
I'm still waiting for Ivy to fall apart...
Don went through a lot of different phases. First he was a humble taxi driver, then a pervert who would sniff any chair that Denise had been sat on, then finally a homicidal maniac hellbent on whacking Mike Baldwin
She got over the death of her only child very quickly
Was Curlys Next Girlfriend Kimberly
❤❤😮😊😂😂😂❤❤
I love Percy ❤
Norman world gone Mavis and Derek comic mint outfit vee and jack help Norman ouch😮
What was the reasoning behind Normans nickname? 🤔
It’s a sort of ironic twist on just how straight his hair was, if you look at how he looked way back in 1983.. it was the complete opposite of ‘curly’, so that’s basically where it comes from.
He had very straight hair, especially when he had the mullet.
Scowling Emily. She is so awful. Better than thou.
Her and Ken, the perfect sanctimonious couple 🙏🍻🇦🇺📺🤪
Curly always unlucky in love
I know she’s trying to make a point but Super Kev, in that irritating voice! Grow up Sally! 🙄
Kevin is very lenient and patient and has a pretty good sense of humour, when it comes to his wife especially
1:16 Super Kev. 32:57 Only just noticed Betty is wearing glasses.
Weird scene there, you make breakfast, bowl of cereal, hot drink, tea, coffee Etc, lift the spoon but don't eat the cereal, stir the drink but don't drink it, slam out of the house. What was the point? come on! You've only got that little lot to clear up later, but you probably wouldn't come back and eat it later. What a waste!
Continuity. They probably didn't have time to reset from outtakes.
Martin is a brilliant actor ,
That Shirley is a lump of perished wood. Ever since she first appeared. No wonder there's no record of her having an acting career after Coronation Street.
After having 4 kids, she went on to be a social worker.
Were Simply Red particularly popular this year or something? 😂
Not with me they weren’t.. EVER! And not just because their music was so dire… another reason was Hucknall’s choice of football team, so you can guess who I support! 😉
They sold sponsorship deals to the record companies to have your latest hit on radio in cafe etc. 9/10 are Stock, Aitkin & Waterman hits.
No Shirley, YOU shouldn't have done that!
Shirley overreacted
Severely overreacted. Why wd she throw a party when he has an exam in the am anyways, instead of the next night when it was over.
The party was for their first anniversary together.
Always do.🙄
Every single woman or young thing over 12 years of age is like that in every single soap you'll watch. Get used to it. If you think Shirley's bad here, check out the minutely, hourly, daily, weekly, over reactions of all of the above in Corry, Eastenders, Emmerdale, Etc. They're all like this.
@@irenemorley75your comment does make sense do you mean she always did or women in the soap always do?
Kevin shouting again ... does he get paid by the decibel?
Are all men in UK cads?
Pretty much, yes.
Quite a few of the women are a bit loose also.
@@phuk4549 Loose?
I never really liked Kevin always shouting and been stroppy coming the little tough guy
Oops. Wandered into the "all men are bastards" coven section of coronation streets comment section again...
I thought the apt. above the Kabin went with the job Rita. If Mavis leaves the apt., she should leave the job!!!
Nice music, what a fuss about it! Makes a nice change, what! Romantic tunes n all ... theyre making more of a din themselves! 😂
Shirley be glad when her whining vouce is gone to many those voices already on the street
Poor Mavis and Derek . Mavis will have to continue going into the shop window, putting her naughty bits on display. Derek will have to find work, driving all over England, flogging plastic dog-muck.
2:13:40 what a wally
Funny bet wigs Rita spins out of work 😅
Rubbish taking the fabulous Phyllis out of the cafe. I guess it was Jill Summers’ age - much older than she played - but the more scenes with Phyllis the better!
She said the reason her voice was so gravely is when she was a singer when younger, she sang a sing out of her range and permanently damaged her voice.
Curly is aspirational, and his milieu have no empathy for that; he needs to get out ...
Pompous Derek thinks he's entitled to a stepford wife. Mavis at risk of coercive control doen the line
WTF?!?!? All Kevin, Curly and that rat Jenny do, is SHOUT!!!!! Can't they speak normally?? Worst characters ever in this era of the series.
Shouting is sort of a key note with all the characters, some more than others, sometimes more than usual, depending on the weather perhaps? 😅
The Curly/Shirley falling out storyline feels so forced 😕
Sally and Kevin have always irritated me with their silly voices!
The factory is demolished soon .
