I was so excited to see this mitten pattern because I just finished the matching hat and I love it! I especially like how the thumb uses the same established pattern as the hand. It looks so cohesive. Will get started in these right away! Thanks!
This "split single crochet" is very confusing. What you are doing looks like a normal single crochet, but what you are saysing is confusing and not what you are doing. Also, how do I start the 2nd row after the 1st single crochet in the back loops. I am so confused. You said we won't be joining the rows, but I'm having a hard time following.
ik its been 9 months since you commented but the "split single crochet" is also called a Waistcoat Stitch if that helps you (its worked into the V on the front as opposed to the horizontal stitch on top) i hope that makes sense!
When you are looking at the stitch you’re about to put your hook into, there is a horizontal bar on top and two vertical “legs” below the bar. For a traditional single crochet, you will insert your hook below the horizontal bar. For the split single crochet, you insert the hook a bit lower-between the vertical legs. Very nice mittens, thanks for sharing this wonderful pattern 😊
I’ve been looking for a good mitten tutorial to make for Christmas presents! This is by far my favourite so far.
Beautiful mittens. Thanks for sharing this pattern with us 💕💕💕

What yarn did you use?
Love this pattern! Looks like it will be nice and cozy!!! And warm!!!
Looking forward to starting this one, I love the look & have done some hats with graphs using that stitch
Me encantaron!! Gracias por tu tiempo y enseñanza pero también porque nos lo haces más fácil 😘😘
I used 2 balls of the merino yarn she used, each ball made 1 mitten!
I love this tutorial!
Love this pattern! Would love to see this pattern done in a blanket.😊
Hola hola desde Chihuahua Mexico
Hi, these are beautiful! I’m just wandering if there’s a pattern for a matching hat? Thank you x
Tanks!!!!
Cool 💖
Hi, can you help me with the child size please, it is difficult to find lovely mittens like yours ! Thank's
What wool are you using? Thickness?. I only chunky would you make the size smaller? I started making s and it I feel like a medium or large.
Thanks
How can I make this as fingerless gloves? Love the pattern but would like to know how to finish the top to keep open. Thanks!
Since these are worked from bottom-up, you can stop at the height you like after the thumb, leaving a little room to do a short ribbing if you like.
Hey! Is it okay if we use the same hook for both the sections ??
The ribbing may not be as tight, but I think it would be fine.
What is size H
5.0 mm

For the life of me I do not understand your slpit stitch nor can I see anything different than a normal crochet.
