Who would’ve thought a GUARD in college could be converted to play LEFT TACKLE! And who was drafted right after him again? 24 DJ Moore, 25 Hayden Hurst, 26 Calvin Ridley! What would Brady have done with 1 of those three guys?
@@bailyveasey9588How do you tell the WORLD you’re a casual without using the word casual? Go reread your statement! the worst of all was Wynn over Lamar. Wynn didnt even play his rookie year, Having Lamar in the back pocket would have been phenominal over a mediocre olineman
Classic. Wynn was perfectly fine until the Pats arbitrarily decided he was a tackle. Very solid guard. Still is. And here we are, Pats still making the same mistakes, over and over and over again.
@@Jackmerius_Tacktheritrix5733 Ok, but it's not just Bill. These fucking guys (wolf, Groh, Mayo, scouts, etc...) still insist upon trying to force guards to play tackle. It's crazy. It's gone on so long and so often at this point that it's even crazier than trying to have Patricia coordinate offense. It's the very definition of insanity and they're still doing it.
Isaiah Wynn was a Tackle at GEORGIA. And he could not stay healthy and he still isn't healthy. He had an opportunity to win a job on the Dolphins and is now a low-end depth piece on the PUP list. He was awful in New England and not healthy.
They still think scarnecia is here but wyn was never good, soft player. The pats can bring in better lineman but they have nobody to properly coach them.
Bertrand is fully committed to the notion that the only thing that matters is the QB and you can surround them with dogshit talent and they should still win.
If they can’t put a good Oline together by year two then this coaching change has done a terrible job considering there were an abundance of LT for the taking.
Is it really a shocker that once our legendary oline coach left the line has been a pretty steady decline dante scarnecchia was the reason we had such a good oline for 20 years
I said it since Draft night. go get Drake. He will play during the season at some point. Next Draft use your top five pic to get the best tackle then when Drake starts week one next season, we’re ready to go. They can sign a good veteran receiver as well maybe even a veteran guard/tackle to. That’s how you rebuild and guess what I think that’s going to be their plan. They have a good plan and looks like they’re sticking to it right now.
The only REAL second guess for Wolf is not making the trade up late for Suamataia, not Guyton. I don't fault the Polk pick--they could have have Suam. instead of Baker. Bert's right--Smith wasn't coming. Jonah Williams is on IR and not that good. Who else? No one. THERE ARE NO LTs because college doesn't produce good ones. So they NEED to draft one first next year, because there will only be 2 or 3 decent ones.
They should have known better than to draft a 6'2" man to be an NFL tackle. This isn't 1950. Dante should have smacked some sense into Bill before they sent in that pick. I was all but convinced that Harold Landry and/or Orlando Brown was going to be one of those 1st round picks. Brown & Chubb in '18 and Deebo or Metcalf in '19 and we're talking about a different trajectory of the franchise in '19-'23.
Wynn was on IR his whole rookie year, and missed half of his second year as well. He’s only played a full season once in his career, even setting aside quality of play
@@timothypatch5080 yeah, I generally think he’s a *hair* underrated over the course of his career. He was a passable LT for a bit, but then they tried flipping him to RT and his career took a nosedive and never recovered
The Jets more than likely win but the Jets are nothing special and neither is Roger’s. It’s a young man’s game. As far as NE goes Bill was a terrible GM on the offensive side of the ball and it’s not getting fixed in one draft. Relax and enjoy the rebuild. Kraft should have let Bill go way before he did. Without Tom Bill has proven to be a sub 500 coach.

could have had Lamar and Chubb at both firsts......
Patriots drafting since 2017 has been dismal.
They're also chasing the Joe Thuney mistake. Him walking was the motive behind the Cole Strange pick.
Did he walk or was pushed out of the door?
@@2Phaktz IMO they wanted him back after the franchise year, but the Chiefs lost a SB because of a bad OL and threw a ton of money at him.
They also took Sony Michel over Nick Chubb in that draft
Michel was easily better than Chubb in college and that wasn't even a bad pick Sony was very solid and helped the Super Bowl runs a lot

Bill’s arrogance that he could turn a punter into a middle linebacker was his downfall

Easy fix. Get a left handed QB. No need for a left tackle!

Matt light and Logan Mankins are not walking through those doors guys
