Hot Dogs....I don't know how skint I'd have to be to make a meal with them. Having said that, l've had my moments of craving a Herta Furta in a bunwith ketchup & American mustard. And who comes out of Ikea NOT having had an 85p hot dog?? None of us are perfect!😊 But now I'm older and got plenty of time on my hands to cook from scratch. Medium chickens have been £2.69 in Sainsburys this week. I can make a Roast Dinner, Fajitas and have bits to throw in a little salad for two. I know its all about keeping costs down, speed and convenience but I think if kids were still taught 'Home Economics' (cookery lessons!) as l was in the 70s, we wouldn't have people relying so heavily on convenience foods. Admittedly, l know it's usually time available and prep that can be big obstacles, because my own son tells me how hard it can be to cook from acratch after a long day at work. As l've told him: batch prepare veg to chuck in a slow cooker to make Bolognese, Chilli, Curries etc to leave cooking slowly all day, just as I've seen you do on your Channel. No offence but its just tinned hot dogs that don't do it for me.
