I loved Leon's story very much. It just explains so much about Leon and why he acts the way he does. VERY LONG essay below XD: At first, he just seemed like a really fun and chill guy, he likes teasing others just for the sake of it, and he has this childlike side that's just adorable. His lines were always so interesting and funny, I was never bored of them. Made me chuckle a lot and always anticipate what he would say next. He always seems so happy and comfy with his current life at present Selphia. And yet, sometimes he would show such a sad and lonely face. True to that, it became clearer as you get closer to him, that even though he's always cracking jokes and laughing at them, he wasn't truly TRULY happy and at peace with his current life. You begun to understand why he's always playing the joker, getting everyone riled up, and even reluctant to get to know him better. He was keeping everyone at an arm's length. Whenever his true feelings would pour out, he would distract the other party with his expert teasing and jokes. And, whenever someone would confront him seriously, he would push their buttons, avert the discussion, and ran away. And so many of the villagers, including the player, would fall for it. His true self has always been unsure of the decision he had made to be a Guardian. Sure it was a kind decision to Venti and the land, but it was also a cruel one to his past friends. And, he himself is still torn between the friends he made at Selphia now, against his past friends. Leon's heart isn't in the past or the present. It's in somewhere between, confused and alone. I was always on the fence during Leon's dating events, because it feels like I'm pushing him to do something he shouldn't do. Because of his 'confession rejection'. Because of some X factor I still didn't know of. I feel like his heart isn't truly with the player character and I feel like he's forcing himself to date us. That's why I really like his proposal event. It explains why Leon is the way he is so beautifully. He is regretting an aspect of his decision to become a Guardian, and yet at the same time deems it inevitable. It made his character feel very layered and intricate. It was so sad and melancholy as Leon finally releases all his pent up emotions. And Maria, she hadn't done anything wrong and yet the love of her life was taken away from her, she wasn't even given a chance. She hoped, day after day, that maybe he would come back. And yet, even as the seasons change and she along with it, he doesn't. Leon's story in my opinion, felt a more mature one in the RF franchise. It shows the pain of one having to leave and the one left. I really like how Leon never forgets about Maria and his other friends from the past. I know some people would prefer that Leon should just forget about Maria and spend 100% of his time pampering and whispering words of love the player as his girlfriend/wife. But it wouldn't be fair to Maria. And real men don't do that, they have lives outside of their significant others, they ain't love machines. I know 2D men are often unrealistically eager to 'show their love' for you, so just take Leon and his sister figure as a prelude to accepting real men. Leon won't forget, just as Maria never did. After all, moving on doesn't mean forgetting. It means accepting. Also, I love how when Leon ask you if you were Maria, Frey answered "I don't know". Such a breath of fresh air. I always think it's weird how characters would say "If I were him, I would blabla-". But you're not. Most of the time, they don't even know who they were talking about. Wat?? I love how mature Frey was when she answered him and accepted Maria and Leon's past friends as a part of Leon and encourages him to hold onto their memories. I love how Frey was able to accept how imperfect Leon actually is and to love him despite all that. And Leon, after everything, has finally let himself free from the curse of his own making and allow himself to truly love Frey and to be happy again. Now to the 'Leon is Adorable and Cool' part: It's pretty obvious Leon has a high pride and treasure his image of the 'always cool and impenetrable' face of his. But it became obvious after you started dating, that it really was just a front. Whenever he was shy or embarrased, he would instead tease you to get the focus away from him. But, there are quite a few choices you can make to not fall for it, but instead push back. And, lo and behold, his red cheeks are apparent to see just from that. He's adorable. He's also so mature, kinda like an older brother. Understands other people and worries about them, yet his pride would never let him express it easily. Personally I don’t like to look at it as pushing or forcing him to do something sorta makes me feel uncomfortable or bad I guess but I get what your saying though. We arent asking for is a marriage but rather just to date or be with him at the moment I guess cuz one thing may lead to the other he thinks we may want more even though we aren’t asking for that. But at the end of the day if you choose that we don’t have to get married he kind of states he won’t be able to give Frey all of himself and ask if that’s fine and when answering he decides so long as there’s not marriage and that Frey ok with the fact he won’t be able to give 100% of himself to Frey he is ok or fine with dating Frey. This may not have anything to do with Leon it I like that they had added more to dylas or his past I don’t think they did that in the 3ds version when you marry him but find out that he got locked up so he could become a Guardian and how the people fought so he could be free. But to make sure Leon loved Maria like he wanted to marry her correct cuz he said she was also like a sister and he looked after her like a big brother so that confused me.
Lovely comment! Many of my thoughts exactly. I played through Leon's marriage first, then Dylas's and Doug's and Leon's was the only one that made me cry. Leon felt like a real person. His character was so developed, and his marriage proposal was so amazing. I loved how much he actually wanted to be with Frey - how he expressed his desire to be with her, to touch her, hold her, but was in torment over his past. I loved that he was a man of his word - which is a rare trait to find in someone. Frey's personality really blossomed in his story. When I played through Dylas and Doug's, she felt a lot more clueless to me, and kind of annoyed me. But with Leon, it was like a whole other side came out of Frey and you really saw her strength. Like Leon's strong personality helped Frey's to really bloom. To me, they're a perfect match. Ugh love this game so much and if I ever replay as Frey (plan on replaying as the male protag), I'll always choose Leon as her hubby. ❤
Tbh, i really adore frey for how strong she is after knowing about maria. If i were in her shoes i'd be pretty jealous even though i knew it's just a past, but seeing leon hold onto that past so well kinda break my heart. Imagine your bf can't forget about his 'ex' because he felt guilty about why they 'split up' in the first place even though he love you as well, that's just messed up lol. She even told leon not to forget about her and not being selfish:( you really need to have a heart of steel to be able to say that
he didnt love Maria other than like a sister; they were only friends since kids, it was platonic and he was feeling guilty cause only when saying goodbye in order to become a guardian Leon realized she took his promise seriously, she was a little sister to him… nothing romantic.

If you don't see these as available to buy from Bado and Jones/Nancy yet, you'll need to obtain a License for each. To get the Licenses, simply pay with Prince/ss Points via Orders and pass the associated quiz that will pop up then (if you get any answers wrong, your Prince/ss Points won't be charged and you can just try again). I never knew I would like Leon. I just basically don't like men who are designed as flamboyant. But his personality strikes those off. So I fancy him now xD
I started to play about four years ago. Died a thousand times just so I could hurry and date Doug (no regrets). But Leon was always such a mystery to me because the way he spoke was so confusing at times. So seeing this was surely something. I never thought he could have been hiding such a sad past. What got me was the fear he had of loving someone else because he was afraid to hurt Frey like he did with Maria. I know the feeling of believing you’re not worthy of love because of how “flawed” you think you are. It’s even scarier when a person has feelings for you, afraid you may not be able to reciprocate the same amount of love they have for you. Or having to suppress your feelings because they may not be happy with you. All in all, Leon being a representation of this means a lot.
Quite some time.. haha! It’s hard to say, but NG+ was a big help in making fresh save files to streamline the process (triggering and completing all the town & mini events for each gender being the most lengthy step). Once those were out of the way, recording the confession to anniversary portion of each video could be managed in about two nights per candidate. Going through it all with each character was great fun though, especially learning new tidbits about each chara that I didn’t pick up on during my original playthrough on 3DS back in 2013, haha. Hope you enjoy the compilations, and thanks for saying so! ^v^

I have been TRYING to confess to Leon. Since. Fall. BUT HE'S NOT BUDGING! I'm pretty sure I got the event with Vishnal and Kiel (pre-marriage), I've DROWNED him in poisoned fish dishes, but yet EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. HE KEEPS THINKING IT'S A JOKE! Aw, sorry to hear you’ve had such bad luck! With no other lovers, the chance of success at LP 8 is 60%, but at LP 9 is 100% (according to the official Famitsu guide). Keep in mind that if you’ve saved the game after he has turned you down at LP 8, then he will always reject the confession until the next LP level. If he doesn’t accept at LP 9, it means that you have an ongoing town event or mini event that he’s a part of, which prevents him from being able to meet you the next day for the confession/a date. For now, your best bet is to save right before he hits LP 9, then talk/give him a gift to reach LP 9 and then confess. I’m pretty sure this will do the trick! I actually managed to talk to Leon about the old language, however I seem to have taken the wrong answer...I can't change it now unfortunately, I thought maybe it would work if you didn't ask what I love you means. I wait and wait but nothing happens... what can be done? Can this conversation come up again sometime? I really do not know what to do..
Hi! Theoretically, the conversation may appear again after you’ve cycled through all of Leon’s daily dialogue, but don’t worry-whichever answer you chose does not impact your ability to trigger Leon’s mini event. This dialogue is not actually part of the mini event, but rather a prerequisite for it (in addition to playing as the female protagonist, unmarried, LP 7+ with Leon, and have completed “A Day in Leon’s Life” town event). Even with these criteria fulfilled, Leon’s mini event is not guaranteed to be your next event-its chance to trigger is still as random as any other town event that you’ve not yet seen, so it may be some time before the game rolls that chance. Hi! There generally is no “correct” or “incorrect” when it comes to the answers-some may be more polite or snarky than others, but regardless of your choice, it has no impact on the character’s FP/LP (unlike in most Story of Seasons/Harvest Moon games)!

I have a problem, not sure if it is an actual problem or not I seem to have skipped the first event with Leon somehow He had friendship level 8 and had told him by chance I love you, with the ulterior motive that does not work anyway Until he said he had an answer for me and now we are a couple. I was totally surprised, but now I'm worried if the other events will even work and I can marry him even though I don't have his first event
Hi! No need to worry-that situation is no problem. By “first event,” are you referring to the Town Event (0:17) or the Mini Event (24:32)? In actuality, neither of these is required for the confession to be accepted, as you’ve experienced. You will still be able to trigger each one after fulfilling their requirements regardless of your dating status with Leon or other bachelors, but do note that the Mini Event (24:32) requires your character to be unmarried, whereas the Town Event (0:17) can occur even if you are married to someone else. In order to trigger Leon’s marriage event, completing the Town Event (0:17) is one of the requirements, so you won’t miss it if you pursue him. Only the Mini Event (24:32) is missable if you do not manage to trigger it before getting married. Hope this helps!

Once you have filled its requirements, an event may not occur right away, but the trigger requirements for each are as follows (taken from Famitsu's Rune Factory 4 "Official Perfect Guide" book): > A Day in Leon’s Life (town event) - no requirements other than Leon living in town. *Enter the plaza from your room’s exit to trigger Leon to run over to Vishnal’s room.* > An Ancient Phrase (mini event) - FP 7, unmarried female protagonist, completed “A Day in Leon’s Life (town event),” have viewed the daily conversation with Leon about the ancient language (conversation shown at 24:25 in the video) > A Letter to the Past (marriage event) - FP 10, unmarried female protagonist, have gone on at least 3 dates & have completed “A Day in Leon’s Life (town event)" Unfortunately, there is no trick to directly trigger a particular town or mini event. After fulfilling one’s requirements, the event will join your pool of unseen town events and have an equal random chance of occurring as your next event. Because of that, the only way to “increase” your chances of seeing a certain event is simply to complete other events as they come. However, if you’d like to try your luck with resetting in order to find a particular event (for example, “A Day in Leon’s Life”), you may play ahead a few in-game days without saving to determine your next “town event day” (a pre-determined calendar day when a town event is randomly selected to occur). You can then save on the night before this day, sleep, and check for which town event has started. If it isn’t the one you were aiming for, return to the previously saved file and repeat the process. @@houcha You don't need the mini event for the marriage event to happen. You just need the town event "A Day in Leon's Life". Right after the town event, the next town event was the marriage event for me. I've never seen the mini event. Granted, I am playing on the Switch, not the 3DS so once the requirements are met, the marriage event will automatically happen.

Hi! The apple icon indicates that your stats are currently affected by an item you recently ate. The exact changes to your stats caused by eating food are noted in the food item’s description, and both it and the icon will disappear over time (usually a few in-game hours). As for your skill not leveling up-perhaps you’ve accidentally enacted the “Disable Skill Gain” order? This is the only reason all of your skills would be frozen from gaining levels, unless they are already at lv99. To verify, you can check the Extra Orders at the Order Symbol for an “Enable Skill Gain” order to reverse the “Disable” order if it is currently active. Hope this helps!

I started to play about four years ago. Died a thousand times just so I could hurry and date Doug (no regrets). But Leon was always such a mystery to me because the way he spoke was so confusing at times. So seeing this was surely something. I never thought he could have been hiding such a sad past. What got me was the fear he had of loving someone else because he was afraid to hurt Frey like he did with Maria. I know the feeling of believing you’re not worthy of love because of how “flawed” you think you are. It’s even scarier when a person has feelings for you, afraid you may not be able to reciprocate the same amount of love they have for you. Or having to suppress your feelings because they may not be happy with you. All in all, Leon being a representation of this means a lot.
Did anyone else notice the error during the airship date where Frey is the one explaining how things were in the past instead of Leon? 1:00:48

How long did it take you to film all these? Thank you so much 🫂
Quite some time.. haha! It’s hard to say, but NG+ was a big help in making fresh save files to streamline the process (triggering and completing all the town & mini events for each gender being the most lengthy step). Once those were out of the way, recording the confession to anniversary portion of each video could be managed in about two nights per candidate. Going through it all with each character was great fun though, especially learning new tidbits about each chara that I didn’t pick up on during my original playthrough on 3DS back in 2013, haha. Hope you enjoy the compilations, and thanks for saying so! ^v^

I have been TRYING to confess to Leon. Since. Fall. BUT HE'S NOT BUDGING! I'm pretty sure I got the event with Vishnal and Kiel (pre-marriage), I've DROWNED him in poisoned fish dishes, but yet EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. HE KEEPS THINKING IT'S A JOKE!
I have no other lovers (like i want him to be the FIRST) but uggggggh I'm already so close to FP level 9 AND HE STILL THINKS I'M JOKING what do I doooooooooooo

Aw, sorry to hear you’ve had such bad luck! With no other lovers, the chance of success at LP 8 is 60%, but at LP 9 is 100% (according to the official Famitsu guide). Keep in mind that if you’ve saved the game after he has turned you down at LP 8, then he will always reject the confession until the next LP level. If he doesn’t accept at LP 9, it means that you have an ongoing town event or mini event that he’s a part of, which prevents him from being able to meet you the next day for the confession/a date. For now, your best bet is to save right before he hits LP 9, then talk/give him a gift to reach LP 9 and then confess. I’m pretty sure this will do the trick! I actually managed to talk to Leon about the old language, however I seem to have taken the wrong answer...I can't change it now unfortunately, I thought maybe it would work if you didn't ask what I love you means. I wait and wait but nothing happens... what can be done? Can this conversation come up again sometime? I really do not know what to do..
Hi! Theoretically, the conversation may appear again after you’ve cycled through all of Leon’s daily dialogue, but don’t worry-whichever answer you chose does not impact your ability to trigger Leon’s mini event. This dialogue is not actually part of the mini event, but rather a prerequisite for it (in addition to playing as the female protagonist, unmarried, LP 7+ with Leon, and have completed “A Day in Leon’s Life” town event). Even with these criteria fulfilled, Leon’s mini event is not guaranteed to be your next event-its chance to trigger is still as random as any other town event that you’ve not yet seen, so it may be some time before the game rolls that chance. Hi! There generally is no “correct” or “incorrect” when it comes to the answers-some may be more polite or snarky than others, but regardless of your choice, it has no impact on the character’s FP/LP (unlike in most Story of Seasons/Harvest Moon games)!

Hi! No need to worry-that situation is no problem. By “first event,” are you referring to the Town Event (0:17) or the Mini Event (24:32)? In actuality, neither of these is required for the confession to be accepted, as you’ve experienced. You will still be able to trigger each one after fulfilling their requirements regardless of your dating status with Leon or other bachelors, but do note that the Mini Event (24:32) requires your character to be unmarried, whereas the Town Event (0:17) can occur even if you are married to someone else.
In order to trigger Leon’s marriage event, completing the Town Event (0:17) is one of the requirements, so you won’t miss it if you pursue him. Only the Mini Event (24:32) is missable if you do not manage to trigger it before getting married. Hope this helps!

Hi there! Once you have filled its requirements, an event may not occur right away, but the trigger requirements for each are as follows (taken from Famitsu's Rune Factory 4 "Official Perfect Guide" book):
> A Day in Leon’s Life (town event) - no requirements other than Leon living in town. *Enter the plaza from your room’s exit to trigger Leon to run over to Vishnal’s room.*
> An Ancient Phrase (mini event) - FP 7, unmarried female protagonist, completed “A Day in Leon’s Life (town event),” have viewed the daily conversation with Leon about the ancient language (conversation shown at 24:25 in the video)
> A Letter to the Past (marriage event) - FP 10, unmarried female protagonist, have gone on at least 3 dates & have completed “A Day in Leon’s Life (town event)"
Unfortunately, there is no trick to directly trigger a particular town or mini event. After fulfilling one’s requirements, the event will join your pool of unseen town events and have an equal random chance of occurring as your next event. Because of that, the only way to “increase” your chances of seeing a certain event is simply to complete other events as they come. However, if you’d like to try your luck with resetting in order to find a particular event (for example, “A Day in Leon’s Life”), you may play ahead a few in-game days without saving to determine your next “town event day” (a pre-determined calendar day when a town event is randomly selected to occur). You can then save on the night before this day, sleep, and check for which town event has started. If it isn’t the one you were aiming for, return to the previously saved file and repeat the process.

@@houcha You don't need the mini event for the marriage event to happen. You just need the town event "A Day in Leon's Life". Right after the town event, the next town event was the marriage event for me. I've never seen the mini event. Granted, I am playing on the Switch, not the 3DS so once the requirements are met, the marriage event will automatically happen.

I have a small icon that looks like a small apple above the display of my level, what does it mean? And could someone also tell me why I can't increase my skills? I'm trying to improve my cooking skill, but I can't get past the next level. The bar is full, but I can't level up, just like all the other skills :(
Hi! The apple icon indicates that your stats are currently affected by an item you recently ate. The exact changes to your stats caused by eating food are noted in the food item’s description, and both it and the icon will disappear over time (usually a few in-game hours).
As for your skill not leveling up-perhaps you’ve accidentally enacted the “Disable Skill Gain” order? This is the only reason all of your skills would be frozen from gaining levels, unless they are already at lv99. To verify, you can check the Extra Orders at the Order Symbol for an “Enable Skill Gain” order to reverse the “Disable” order if it is currently active. Hope this helps!

Once you have fulfilled these criteria, the mini event can trigger randomly on a “town event day.” The event will not show up on your diary menu as the main town events do. When you stand in the plaza and see Leon rushing to or inside Arthur’s office with Arthur, enter Arthur’s office to begin the mini event. Hope this helps!
