In each field they are the respective strongest (below Rimuru of course). No one can top Diablo in magical areas. And in a physical fight, you will not find a stronger warrior than Zegion.
The Tensura universe is so detailed they could easily do a whole LN and manga series on just Zegion's journey from one step above monster chow to ultra badass. I would buy that those LNs. There are so many good characters that it is too bad they could not do all of them justice.
What makes both Zegion and Diablo so powerful is that they can masterly use Rimuru’s nihility collapse.. and more surprisingly they can use it without Ciel’s help (of ccourse they need Ciel’s permission to use it though)

Zegion is a case of the creators of the anime assuming characters weren't ever going to be important enough as side characters to warrant including in the main season, and when they saw that he was a bit more important than they gave him credit they threw him into the side series so when his roles in the main events DO become prominent, they can say "he was already introduced".
In the Anime, it seemed that Milim was defeated just by honey. But it wasn't normal honey; it was Apito's honey. Also in the extra episodes after season one, when Rimuru did surgery to remove cancer. He mentions she would have been cured easily if given Apito's honey.
I mean, he only has appeared two times (one of them just a mention) and the other he said and do absolutely nothing in the manga, and even then the anime of Slime Diaries is based on the manga of the same name, so it wasn't them (anime) that didn't introduce him in season 1 because they didn't think it was needed, it's enough to just tell us forward in the story (if it ever gets adapted) "Oh btw, these two were (explains backstory) and that's it", it would be enough. Btw, at least the introduced him with a badass voice actor, I definitely want to see more of him animated, that voice is excellent.

In the Web Novel (note this is no longer canon but can be a rough idea as to what will happen, and LN version of characters tend to be stronger) his armored exoskeleton becomes so durable and tough that it superceded even Adamantine and was called Godsteel. To put it in perspective, Zegion's final form is so physically tough that even Milim, one of the strongest fighters in Tensura, can only scuff the armor at minimal. And yes, thats actually using effort on the girl's part.

pretty sure many of rimuru's 12 are much weaker in the light novel then in the webnovel...for example adalman and kumara. But i kinda like this, doesnt make it too over the top

@@Synkronist I am not saying EOS Zegion could beat EOS Guy Crimson but he would be able to put up a real fight. I think Zegion has suspended world ability like Guy. In fact he is about as tough strong and fast. Like with Diablo I think he would lose because of lack of real world experience.
Though he is the second strongest under Rimuru (Diablo being the first) there are still some other characters who can still put up a good fight with him (Benimaru, Shion and the three Primordial females).

He said himself that defeating him was hard because of the self exposed rule of not touching the part of Rimuru's cell that is attached to him. It is not hard to see why. When he and his sister were wounded and needed aid, Rimuru gave it freely. He asked for things in return, but these were hardly things they would balk at. Indeed it could be seen as things they would do anyway. And from the vantage of peaceful growth Zegion got to see Rimuru built a paradise which was justly governed. Even when provoked Rimuru was pretty fair in his dealings. Add to that Rimuru is friend to and descended from a true dragon, a being which is basically a god, it is easy to see why he is treated as a god king by many. On top of it all is the terrifying level of power Rimuru wields. Why wouldn't Zegion treat Rimuru with extreme deference? As far as Zegion is concerned Rimuru embodies both the power and righteousness of a god.
It's so scary to think that rimuru and her comrades are too strong that if anything goes wrong with rimurus head and she turns evil the world will face catastrophic consequences
Also after his fight with Dino, he received the God class great sword "Crumbling Fang" and then proceed to fuse with it to create "Crumbling Wings" after it recognized him as the new master.
It should also be noted that the 3 demoness trio also avoided attacking the parts of zegion covered with rimuru's flesh its also important to note that Ultima was actually able to damage zegion in a fight too.
i think in terms of full brute strength i give it to zegion but in terms of magic i give it to diablo. id say they are about equal and the fact that both have the potential to keep getting stronger is scary.
If you think about it, Zegion’s rise to power is very similar to Rimiru’s origin. All he needed was to into contact with a higher being to evolve into a Demon lord, which is pretty much what happen to his master when he was just a slim. Funny how that works.
I feel that everybody was robbed that they didn't put these characters in the original anime. Because that explains how remaru got the honey and why. These Characters are very important to the story. I hope they show them because if not there's gonna be issues. I'm already reading volume three of the light novel series and and I cannot believe we didn't get them introduced.😢

I think I remember that Zegion didn't really need the exoskeleton in his humanoid form, but kept it because Rimuru liked it. Imagine a how handsome he could have been if not for that, following the rule of cool and all lol
yeah, it kinda annoy me how unreasonably powerful and skilled benimaru become, he started as just an a ranked ogre, the primordials started as an s rank demon who scared luminous and leon which then rimuru gave them superior body, logically the 3 primordials before awakening should still be stronger than awakened benimaru , heck, even the 3 demons directly under the primordials should've been stronger than benimaru especially moss. I like benimaru but he didn't need to be that strong, he's a great leader and that should be the focus for him, it'll be a lot better and more interesting if benimaru is inferior to the top 10 demons but he's a leader who can make an army of b rank beat up an army of a rank because of his superior command, rather than him just being stupidly overpowering at everything

He also holds the advantage within environments with water vapors, mist, and moisture (every places that has hydrogen including space and planets' atmosphere). After reading Vol. 19, It's 50/50 weather Zelanus would be an ally after learning about Zegion and Apito's existence and how Rimuru saved and trained them. On the other hand s/he might become an enemy because Shion killed Minaza and Razul. If Zegion and Apito committed treason just like Razul, s/he'll definitely become an enemy along with the remaining Insectar generals.
True, but to counter if the story goes in roughly the same direction as the Web Novel, until the final chapters at least, then Rimuru will be at a point where even Zelanus would have to pause and question if he'd survive the fight.

I'd prefer for him/her to be an ally. Not saying that Rimuru couldn't defeat Zelanus, but it would drastically decrease the chance of enemies to win if s/he's not on their side.
The insectars introduced in LN19 are so interesting that I don’t want them to be killed off quickly. If possible, I would love for them to stay at the labyrinth and build there colonies inside
There are so many characters who are important to Rimuru but don't get any screen time in the anime. And if they do, they remain naimless. Like who is the cute Goblina girl with the pink hair? We find out about her in Slime Diaries but no mention in the main anime.
zegion race has high magic resistance and this stats was highly amplified by his over powered evolution., so if zegion and diablo fight, there's a high possibility that diablo will lost. in a fight between evenly matched party, a slight advantage will be crucial. Diablo said it himself that zegion is his nemesis

I think you missed a very important person in your list. Gobuta is strong as hell after fusing with Ranga. And depending on his luck skill(if it triggers) he could beat the primordial trio I think. At least after he got some xp with the fusion. The only thing that helds Gobuta back is his lack of xp

If you think about it, Zegion’s rise to power is very similar to Rimiru’s origin. All he needed was to into contact with a higher being to evolve into a Demon lord, which is pretty much what happen to his master when he was just a slim. Funny how that works.

yeah, it kinda annoy me how unreasonably powerful and skilled benimaru become, he started as just an a ranked ogre, the primordials started as an s rank demon who scared luminous and leon which then rimuru gave them superior body, logically the 3 primordials before awakening should still be stronger than awakened benimaru , heck, even the 3 demons directly under the primordials should've been stronger than benimaru especially moss.
I like benimaru but he didn't need to be that strong, he's a great leader and that should be the focus for him, it'll be a lot better and more interesting if benimaru is inferior to the top 10 demons but he's a leader who can make an army of b rank beat up an army of a rank because of his superior command, rather than him just being stupidly overpowering at everything

I'd prefer for him/her to be an ally. Not saying that Rimuru couldn't defeat Zelanus, but it would drastically decrease the chance of enemies to win if s/he's not on their side.

I think you missed a very important person in your list. Gobuta is strong as hell after fusing with Ranga. And depending on his luck skill(if it triggers) he could beat the primordial trio I think. At least after he got some xp with the fusion. The only thing that helds Gobuta back is his lack of xp
