R.I.P. Vincent Price; this is the last tv appearance I watched & cried as he was so frail & I was afraid of him dying, especially after all the great performances & generousity he had given to us & continues to through old movies, books & the Vincent Price Art Musuem. Mr Price, you will NEVER be forgotten. Thank You. God rest your soul.
I've just now discovered the Horror Hall of Fame programs and it's one of the most heartwarming, wholesome things I've ever seen.
If anybody was lucky to watch this back in the 90's, show hands.
I hope this is the one where my favorite horror movie actor, Vincent Price, presented the award for the horror film of the year, because I saw a video clip of it on Tumblr.
I was lucky enough to BE there in the front row. In a tux! At 1:25:21, I'm the guy shot from the back on the right side of the frame, with sort of reddish/brownish (actually dirty blond) longer hair. The dark-haired (actually red) gent to my left is DOOM co-novelist and horror-story writer Brad Linaweaver. At 1:25:25, I'm again at the right side of the frame with a woman in white one row behind me to my right. It was a great night, and I think it may have been Vincent Price's last public appearance.
Yep.
🙋 I was a 11 year old horror nut watching it on cable. Still am haha
I wish! I was 10 at the time and would have had to sneak to watch it (like I did most horror movies) but we didn't get cable until I was 12. Speaking of which, what channel did this come on?
Bring this ceremony back!
They kinda did. Starting in 2021 the all horror streaming service known as Shudder have done The Chainsaw Awards which is more or less a version of The Horror Awards.
They should definitely bring this award show back!
Ugh, I wish they still had this around! I'd watch it religiously ever year! 😔
Never get sick and tired of watching this. Because it inducted my favorite horror hostess, Elvira, and Vincent Price. Much oblige and we owe it all to Robert Englund.
This needs to be brought back!!!
Crazy how Kinison passed a year after this
All the original horror stars!
I recorded them both on VHS and watched them over and over.
48:32 best Freddy Tribute ever. Should be a video all on its own.
Thank you for posting this. I have this on VHS somewhere that I taped when I was twelve.
That's a really big show.
Dude, I was losing my mind over nearly every name announcement at the beginning of this.
My mom used to buy me comic books at yard sales. I had Tales of the Unexpected, Friday the 13th (that was the inspiration for The Series), and some others that I can't remember right now.
In the mid 1990s, a comic book called 100% True? came out. It was sort of an educational one, though.
A rat told the story of The Black Plague.
"Sparky" the electric chair told the story of how the electric chair killed people, and its history.
We read about Julia Pastrana, one of PT Barnum's attractions, who was the unfortunate victim of a disease that made hair grow all over her body, and her gums grow thick, making her look like an ape. She had a sister, Maria, who had the same condition.
What scared me the most, though, was Spontaneous Human Combustion. *shiver* Some people say there is no such thing, some say there is. When they finally get this nit picked, they need to come and tell me!
Loved the HHoF trilogy. I have it on dvd now.
Too bad no one thought to put these comic books on ebook on the 'net for people to read.
Hey Sam! That "eulogy" was a bit premature. Freddy would come roaring back for two more sequels!
there have been a billion and one horror movies that have come out since this series ended in 1992 they need to uhm bring this series back from the dead
First time seeing this The Crypt Keeper in the house
Good to see you got all three of my rips of Horror Hall of Fame up here. I wasn't able to do that years ago when I ripped these and posted them on some horror sites.
The internet thanks you!
I actually videotaped the event from TV. Years later, I converted the VHS to DVD (on a Sony convertor), then ripped the DVD using Handbrake and edited it in iMovie to remove the commercials. Came out pretty good, too, despite the multiple iterations. Screen shots of me, though, looked (what's the video version of the word "illegible"?) crappy.
Out of the three shows that were produced, I would say that this one had the best nominees for Best (Horror) Picture. *Silence of the Lambs, Misery, Child's Play 2, Jacobs Ladder, & Predator 2.* All of them are great to watch during the spooky season or any other time of the year. 🎃👻🦇🕯
I've had the hardest time finding horror comics. I was able to purchase a few at a comic book store a couple of yrs ago. I discovered them in the 70s and loved them.
Oh my. The Cryptkeeper.
I love the birds reference
this is awesome dude. thanks!
I have been looking for this forever, i miss it so much, i was 9 when this aired
Thank you so much for archiving and uploading these!
That Horror Hall of Fame started on Halloween for the last 10 years
What a show! It's a sad yet heartwarming sight to see dear Vincent Price so near the end of his life, but he had a lot of great company in this special with some truly great stars of horror and comedy.
Thank you! Happy Halloween 2022. I remember this show.
Mr. Englund looks so dabinoir
These were the best when I was a kid.
awesome old times, pure talents
awesome movies, awesome everything .... xoxox
Good Question: What Network Was This Aired On?
I remember hearing this famous person's voice on Thriller and the disney movie the movie The Great Mouse Detective.
I remember this I enjoyed watching
Great stuff!
obvi I never seen this....but the BEST part of all this is the crypt keeper & his jokes.😂
Sad that they didn't do more, but horror just lost its stature around that time. It got it back some.. but remakes are killing it again. LOL
I remember watching this as a kid.
I think it was on FOX or something
I'd say bring it back, but I don't really wanna watch the SCREAM 6 actors getting more unnecessary praise
They don't do this anymore😔😔 😔
Happy Halloween 🎃 🎃🎃
Cooles Video.
Hardcore 90s Nostalgia
I was disappointed with the third edition of this, it was just replays of some of the inductees of this edition and the previous one. But man, I do wish they kept this going annually.
