I figured weight wouldn’t matter for Lorcana. Usually a pack comes with a foil, which would be the “heavy card” but that doesn’t mean it’s going to be a rare card, as commons can also be foils. They were smart doing that, which blocks the weight method to pull good cards. Also, makes collectors make two collections, which are non foil set and foil sets.
I bought 2 hanger packs of Shimmering Skies yesterday… took them out of the cardboard & weighed them on my scale… both exactly the same weight. I thought for sure I’d get skunked. One pack had nothing & the other … a Prince Naveen Enchanted. Weird thing is… I’ve opened about 12 of these packs … not a single Legendary, but I pulled an Enchanted.
You cant weigh blister packs there is too much variable in the extra cardboard packages. You have to weigh just the packs themselves just from some one who just works with manufactured packages the same exact box for a specific product weighs different. Of course variables still exist. But the cards them shelf should have a better quality control then what the package is. I am new to TCGs but just giving a perspective.
Pokemon has way more variety in foil treatments though, so the variance in weight makes sense. Lorcana literally only has two foil treatments and that's it.
so not to discredit your hard work, but you would have to weigh them outside the blister, just the pack to know the real weights. The glue used in the blister is very inconsistent and more than likely makes up most of the weight differences in this test.
It would be great If you could weight Card by its own. When i tried it, regular cards weights 2 gramm and the enchanted i have was 2.2 gramm. I really Like your Videos :) greetings from Germany
Definitely, the glue on the hanger packs throws it all off entirely. Which makes me happy to know that those are at least safe and random. It was a fun experiment, but now I'll have to do it again with just plain packs.
I’m sure you’ve heard of people using ct scanners to peek at packs. I’ve also heard of less monstrous practices where someone buys a case, pulls an enchanted on the second box and sells the rest of the boxes for a premium… some people will do just about anything to make a few extra bucks.
Yeah blisters are all glued shut, so that can vary so much depending on how much they dabbed on them. I do wonder if someone weighed them before you though……….. you might check at a different time to see if there are some that are way more heavy just in case. But i definitely wouldn’t do it using blisters

Of course you can’t weight these packs, there’s nothing to weigh because every pack comes with a foil. In Pokémon not every pack comes with a foil. Also you weighed 100 packs you probably could weigh an enchanted. Thoughts?
@@PlanetSadala my point was to see if the blisters weight mattered, it definitely is thrown off by the glue. But if I were to do it again, just booster packs, they would throw solid numbers to base things off of. I know there’s a difference in foil VS Enchanted weight. I just wanted to see if the blisters could be weighed. Basically making it pointless for someone to weigh blisters at a store.
If enchanted cards were to be heavier, Ravensburguer can easy lix it by pairing packs with heavier/lighter "rule card/gateway cards/the puzzle cards"

Ouch! I stopped buying blisters because thats just my luck. For some reason shimmering skies troves seems to be where the hits are for me
