Holy moly, you have given me a new goal for trucking. Just became a CDL student after losing my job due to covid...I don't think I'd ever want to leave a truck like that. Makes the idea of otr that much more enticing. Thank you for sharing!
@@TheExpediterBoogie Nice video what do you haul exactly and can you be hired as a solo driver what's the annual gross for beginners, does the truck have driver face cameras what's the longest period do you wait for loading and off loading and are you driving strictly OTR over the road ?
@@socialcommunication169 I'm sorry I didn't see your comment earlier. The truck is through Hyfield Trucking and they do no work with solo's only team drivers. You can expect around 120k-150k per year average salary. the truck does not have inward facing cameras only outward facing dash cams which is our choice not required but highly suggested. the loading and off loading times vary per customer but mostly we are in and out very quickly due to the nature of the freight. This is an OTR position if you would like to know more reach out to hyfieldtrucking.com and let them know you found them from the expediter boogie 🙂
When I drove from 1988 to 2000 I had an 8ft square box behind my Aerodyne cabover with full facilities. But, I had a normal RV toilet where I had to dump once a week (20gal), but most Flying J's have dumps. I carried 75 gal of water and 10gal water heater, 75gal of gasoline for the generator (6.5kw Onan Commercial), 300gal fuel, 25 gal gray. Everything was set up so I could run for a week taking showers everyday. Once you have the ability to use the bathroom, shower, shave, eat in the truck and sleep-truly independent of truck stops, ALL tension of being on the road goes away. I'm always amazed not more truckers don't get bigger sleepers like this beautiful one! I did furniture moving.
As an ex UPS driver I can honestly say that this is one "Beautiful" rig!!! I would buy this truck just to have something to look at as that it is well built and put together!!!
Congrats on this new rig!!! The owners seem to be a great company.... taking care of you....you take care of them...and FedX's Custom Critical Customer(s)!!! Awesome!!!
I’m new to trucking 24 yrs old it’s exciting seeing all the options that different things come with thank you sincerely for taking your time to share this with us
Congratulations Jerry & Don on your new unit, what a great 👍 upgrade. Your owners are awesome. Thanks for sharing your home on wheels. Be safe and blessings.
That was by far the best explanation of lane departure Blindspot monitoring and adaptive cruise control I’ve ever heard literally I had no questions once you finished explaining LOL
Wow....that is the best tour of a vehicle on youtube. Many other youtubers like to spend way way too much time talking about irrelevant features. I think you touched on just about everything...just enough time on each feature.
Beautiful truck. In CA I will always take the lift axle. Turns your 3 axle truck in to a 2 axle which means no more 55mph speed limit and no more lane control. A two axle semi truck can run the carpool lane as well.
We've sold our 53' step conestoga and coming over to Custom Critical after Labor Day with our 2020 Peterbilt 567 with a 168" ARI sleeper. We've contracted with FedEx through another company in the past but really looking forward to Critical after 3 years of flatbed work with military, areospace and Space X.
@@TheExpediterBoogie I know some automatics have the engine brake feature with that awesome sound does this 2020 freighliner Cascadia have the engine brake ?
I just drove something with lane departure active assist where it detects that you’re weaving and it’ll steer a little to keep you in the lane. You can oversteer through it if you’re purposely changing lanes without a blinker but if you keep a light hand on it, it’ll steer around Turns for you
An awesome rig you got there It must be great during a long travels Also i like aesthetics of it that its white as same as the cargo and not too long so its blends in with the rest of the truck perfectly Enjoy yourself 👍🏼😎
Awesome you both will need class b hazmat and tanker endorsements once you have those contact me and I can help you get started with the same company I’m with. Let me know if you have any questions
@@TheExpediterBoogie any solo people doing expediting. And how's the class b I have a class A tanker and hazmat would I need a class b tanker and hazmat as well?
Adaptive cruise and lane departure are an absolute pain in the ass. Blind spot monitoring is nice to have though. My last job I had a 2019 old body cascadia. I loved the heated and cooled seat, the DT12 was nice but I wasn't a fan of it on hilly areas or in snow until it was unlocked (corporate had it locked in econ initially) Now I have a Kenworth T880, it doesn't have the heated/cooled seat but the ride is amazing especially when hauling a 125,000lb tanker. 525 ISX and an 18sp Eaton manual. No log book and no governor! I love it. Never been more comfortable on the road until I drove without a dang logbook. Stay safe out there!
Very nice setup gentlemen.. I like it a lot. You guys are living the life. All I would need beyond that in the downtime is a hideout in the woods far away!
Don’t activate the cruise while driving in bad weather, and this won’t apply the brakes unless you’re already too damn close to what you’re about to hit. Plus , just put your right foot on the accelerator to regain command of the truck if it’s in a false emergency activation.
this is what i am talking about! if I ever get to drive a truck this is the truck I want to drive all the comforts of home! and I would love to work for Fedex :)

no we do not have anything attached to the back. Our total length is 40 foot with 20 foot in the box. We never haul more than 10 pallets and most of our freight is under 4 pallets.
