Sir, you make a very good point about The thrice-scrubbed, worn-down filter. If a person were to run with that idea, once the filter is not filtering the smaller particles, it can be used as a pre-filter unit, to get a little more time out of the new one in the unit below. Many people who enjoy the use of a ceramic filter pre-treat filters with a little bit of colloidal silver, lightly painted over the filter’s clean, dry outside surface. These good souls testify that microbes are less likely to grow on their filters as quickly. There is a good chance that you might’ve already said this in another video, but this is the first of your videos that I’ve seen so I’m gonna offer it up here and hope that it helps somebody. The Filtration unit that I’ve used for many, many years, scrubs up in a similar fashion. Mine however, works on a hand pump. It also has to be periodically given a gentle scrub. The one that I have, once it’s cleaned, is gently placed in a pot of room temperature water. It’s slowly brought up to the boiling point, and allowed to boil for a couple of minutes. Then the burner is turned off, and the unit is left covered and on touched to return to room temperature. After that, it’s left in the air and sunshine to dry completely before being pressed back into service. I’m interested in having a passive filtration unit now, so that I can relegate my pump to my emergency preparedness kit. I’m wondering if these are need to be boiled for disinfection periodically. Can anybody speak to that at all, please?
How fast is the water supposed to drip from the filter. I replaced my filter today because the bottom broke off when I picked it up. I lift it up and the water was dripping in a stream.
Hi. My upper ceramic dome bucket mistakenly fell down and had a cracked which makes it to have a leakage when is been poured inside. What can I use to stop the leakage. Thanks
I read the tests on this on your website and i didn't exactly understand the numbers for tap vs filtered but they were very close. Does this mean it only improves tap water slightly?
I've got a new system and I followed the directions thoroughly and it's literally barely dripping which looks like it's going to take 2 days to filter through.
Put the hot water that has just boiled and pour it into the top tank, the pressure from the hot water is very helpful in launching the filtration process at the beginning, repeat the cycle several times, surely after this it will definitely be easier that the filtration that will happen
I just bought mine 2days ago, i followed the setup correctly, yet, water is not coming out from the upper tank to the lower tank, it been 18hrs now, still the water is just dropping bit by bit
I have used these kind of filters (another brand) and when installing I only cleaned the outside of the dome with water... should I also fill it with water (upside down so water gets in) and leave it submerged for some time? My problem is water tastes like ceramic.
Francisco Díaz: The side of the filter that touches the water that’s not yet treated is the side that needs cleaning. So as long as you have it mounted such that the dome is upright, so the outside is the part in contact with water, It’ll be possible to clean it well like this. The inside will only ever have touched clean water. If you were a person who boils (then cools)the water before putting it through the filter, There probably won’t be much in the way of colonization happening on the outside. You’ll get a lot longer out of your unit that way. If you save your old filter, once you’ve scrubbed it to the point where it’s only filtering out big particles, and the water is running through it kind of quickly, you could stack another level on top of your new filter, so that you’ve got a pre-filtration unit. This will help you get a little more time out of the newer filter. Once your filter is clean and dry, many people say that they paint a light coat of colloidal silver onto the ceramic and let that dry. That apparently prevents colonization of bacteria and algae onto the unit as well. It’s also supposed to be good against viral and retroviral particles. I haven’t done the microbiological testing on them myself, so This comment is being offered so that you could check it out for yourself and possibly get a little more time from your units. I don’t know if these filters are safe to boil for disinfection purposes or not. The one that I have is, but it’s a different type. I just left a comment there in the hopes that the company who made the video will come back with a response.
@@daphneraven6745 Following my initial comment: I let water run through the filter and then discarted it about 3 times before drinking and that greatly diminished the ceramic taste... the rest of the taste decreased fairly quickly. 👌 Also, I don't boil my water before pouring it into the system and with regards to cleaning, I clean the ceramic dome once it slows its filtering speed up to about twice the time. The rest, I clean it once every 6 weeks... Keep in mind all these things vary depending on the owner's usage, initial water quality... etc.
@@franciscodiaz6197 : Thank you very much for that very important follow up. A lot of filters need pre-soaking before they can do the job really nicely. And then, usually a certain quantity of water has to filter through them. But Idk if that’s true of all filters. Your experimentation makes a strong case for doing that with these filters.
Hah! Mine looks dirty after a week and I have a water softener. Also I have had 2 brand new zen filters which don’t filter fast at all and maybe one gallon over night and all morning. I got my money back on 2. I have one now that is brand new and my container is clean! Now wth is wrong!??? They use to drip fast and fill up the bottom in about 12 hours. Today I might get the bottom filled in 3 days.
Sir, in multi stage filtration the ceramic filter should be place 1st or at the last? I have 4 stage dringking filter which is sediment, pre carbon, post carbon and akaline filter. I have a unit of doulton cermaic filter also. Now am bit confise where should the ceramin filter placed. Some opinion said should place it 1st and others say it should go last. Also some advise say that in any setup the ceramic should always last stage.
There’s a filter that looks very similar to that on Amazon. Vendors give the measurements of the unit on Amazon, so you could use that to assess whether or not this other filter would fit your unit. I sure hope that helps you. :-)

Sir how to open
Can we use life time this filter
The life of the Ceramic Dome filter is roughly 6 - 9 months.

You’ve been waiting a long time For an answer here. Consider contacting the manufacturer of your filtration unit.
instead of scrubbing the dome is better to replace it with a new one
Where to buy a new one?
Just to get the filter to fit and not leak I had to use teflon tape because the plastic part you screw it into is super cheaply made.
Agree 100% . Super cheaply made. Exactly.
The watet tests salty
I have that kind of water purifier pero wala akong mabili na cartridge sa ace saan pa po kaya mkakBili nyan cartridge lang po salamat po sa sasagot
Megafresh brand mo?
