This is so heartbreaking. It reminds me of when I took my hijab off for the first time. It was 42c and I felt like I was gonna faint. I was in a bus with no men around so I pulled up my sleeve and loosened my the hijab from around my neck. I felt slightly better. But then men came in and I quickly covered myself again. But the men were wearing shorts and half sleeve tshirts. It made me so angry. Why can men walk around wearing whatever they want and I have to suffer under the shackles of hijab like i'm a second class slave. And that was the moment I realized my worth in Islam. And at that point I rolled my sleeves up and took off my hijab. My hair was messed up and it got messed up even more but I didn't care for one bit. It felt like I was in prison and I finally got out. Never wore that thing again.

So if one is pulling down the head cover to one's bosom it logically follows that one must cover their faces too because the face is between the head and bosom. This is consistent with the hadiths above.

There was one tiktok I saw of a hijabi girl and in that post she admitted to hating the hijab despite feeling like she should love it and a lot of young girls in the comments agreed with her. It is considered a sacrifice to a lot of these women and girls who wear it because they think there will be horrible consequences in the afterlife if they don't.
I have heard similar stories to this numerous times, women just dreaming of dropping it, feeling the wind in their hair. Once heard an elderly woman saying, that her biggest wish in this world, was to ride a bike, without the hijab, and feel the world as it is meant to be felt.
A muslimah told me how a couple of times she'd gone to a café where there were no Muslims and had removed her scarf. She did not have this freedom in her daily life as her family would've gone crazy. Her father and now her husband are imams. Her new husband even asked her to wear contact lenses to cover her distinctive blue eyes. She gladly complied.

Once I met this 17 years old girl who graduated from high school with my 17 own teenage daughter. I asked her if Nazera was going to college, my daughter said no. She said that Nazera was going to be married off to a man from Florida state because her parents who were devoted Muslims had decided that she was to get marry instead of going off to college. I said it was too bad because Nazera was a very intelligent girl. And this happened right here in the USA.
I use to have a muslim friend and her family did that to all the girls in her family. She didn't go to college and was homeschooled all her life. She lives in a prison and denies it to me (I was supposed to be her best friend) and denies it to herself. Her dad didn't even force her to wear a hijab but once she married, her husband did.

When we criticize the Hijab, we need to clarify that we're not only criticizing those that force women to wear the Hijab but MORE IMPORTANTLY the difficulty of muslim women who wear it BY CHOICE. And that's why our focus is mainly not the Hijab, but dismantling the ideology of Islam so that even those women who put themselves under this difficulty by choice are also free from it in the coming years, as more awareness about the falsification of Islam is spread among muslims.

Sacrificing joy, taking heavy burdens for a promised paradise is very common in religous traditions. Believing Muslims, Christians and others abstain from eating and drinking, sexual activity, sacrifice freedom,etc. and feel guilty when they fail. Some even harm themselves thinking that they will be rewarded after death. To be clear: Just consuming every available joy and distraction that may cross your path does not make you happy. I´m not advocating for thoughtless hedonism. But everybody should be free to decide, when to enjoy eating and when to fast for health or spiritual experience. When to spend time with other people for whatever reason, and when to stay on his/her own. When to wear a scarf, and when to enjoy the wind blowing through the hair.

That post from that woman has spoken deeply to what I feel. I am a closeted ex-muslim and I am not satisfied wearing a hijab. The first time taking off the hijab was in public with a friend that I trust and it felt amazing! The cool breeze I felt when I was walking around the mall and no one seemed to bother me felt thrilling. But, sadly, I have to continue wearing the hijab in front of my family and I am waiting for the day that I can finally speak out to my family about my apostasy. Thank you for showing us this video ^^

@@i.s.9623 For two main reasons: 1. There is absolutely NO quote in Quran, which states that a hair veil must be worn. A Hijab is an intrinsic motivation of protecting yourself from exposure. This might be a hair veil as well as modest clothing. Further has any Hadith tolerance for inaccuracies which makes it inadequate and an unsuitable source when it comes to controversial matters. And you are calling others as “fools”… 2. WHY should I voluntarily pick a religion, which locks me in and oppresses my freedom? This is the opposite of what faith is supposed to deliver. Believers should feel safe and freed from this mad world. A hair veil in the first place avoids this light feeling and deprives my freedom, as it comes with a behavior expected by the Muslim community. One more thing, which proves my approach in that topic: Any culture has a different understanding of what a “proper “ hijab is. Some cover tight but let the face open, some cover the lower face part, some cover even the hands and eyes, some can see the hair-roots and it’s worn loose and some show their feet, others don’t. What a hijab is, depends on your community. I choose to be free as I want to feel empowered by my faith rather than oppressed.

The one who instituted the ''forcing'' is Mohammad, and all the men after him, who have carried on the tradition of upholding this sort of practice. They say that it’s not men telling them to wear it … yet if we would ask how many women wrote Allahs word for her to read she would never draw the connection that it might be the men after all telling her.
A friend of mine, who privately had also apostatized few months ago, told me that she felt much more free whenever she takes her hijab off. Muslim women had always told her that, aside from the spiritual benefits and to please the creator, in term of worldly and material benefit it can be harvested too. Considering that muslim women who wear the hijab, wouldnt need to worry about having their hair groom and styled every week or even every month. By means, it was said that by wearing a hijab, women may need less maintenance for their hair & head. All they had to spent is some money for the head scarves. Following my friend's journey, she started off with wearing hijab since child. Maybe around 12 years old or so, ever since that day, she never really took off her hijab unless in her own home with her mahram. For more than 10 years of wearing the hijab, she eventually had developed some skin and scalp issues, but her family never really got concerned or even cared about it since they'll brush it off by saying stuff like "The Hijab is what will help you conceal those issues that you're facing.." or "there's no need for a scalp treatment, you're wearing hijab so, what's the significance of treating and beautifying your hair, whilst you still need to cover them publicly". Apparently, she's suffering from a scalp problem and a mild hair loss. She ended up had to pay a big load of money for scalp treatment and stuff. From something that she thought can be less of a burden, eventually lead to more bigger problem. That friend of mine regretted for not taking her hijab off sooner. She could've avoid all of this mess.
This happened to my cousin, since she turned 12, she had to bundle up her long thick hair and wore a scarf her entire youth until she left, and during this time of wearing it, she had hair loss especially around the hair line zone. But the aunties made it like something to be proud of having. Sigh.
Abdulllah, I like the way you speak and you have my utmost respect and admiration for what you have done and to be able to speak out on behalf of others. I know it is so difficult for people to leave a faith that they were born and nurtured in and we must befriend others who need help in shaking off the ideas that tell us that God will judge us in the afterlife. That’s a terrible burden for young people to carry and it is totally unnecessary. Why can’t people belong to a faith and use their mind to sift through the unsupported ideologies? I wish and hope for a world where that freedom is possible.

As a Christian I have a freedom, a peace and a joy. Even if I discover I was wrong all the time, I will not regret my choice. Since I became Christian, the grass seems greener, the sky bluer, the birds sing lovelier and the flowers look more intricate. The sacrifices I make I make in love, like a parent does for a child, there is thena joy as the parent see the child blessed. Even in trouble and strife, I receive a deep hope and peace that passes understanding I know that is not the impression people get of Christianity, and I know it is not how all Christians are. Sahih means authentic (not porcupine as in Hindi) so it is a highly rated hadith and just below the Quran. Bukhari means from Bukhara, it is a city that is now in Uzbekistan. Sadly, it's very unlikely that there is anything after death, so these women are missing out so much. They think that their religions, one of thousands, and their god, one of thousands, is correct and what they "believe" will turn out to be true (and hence everyone else will be wrong).
I'll do that...the Quran, the hadith of Al-Bukhari and Muslim, the Sira of Ibn Ishaq/Ibn Hisham. Those are the core texts of sunni-islam, read those, and you will easily see how stupid an ideology it is. All one needs is the ability to think, and those books, and it will very soon become evident that everyone, especially women, should stay away from Islam.

It's just a piece of cloth. It could be a hat. Or a wig. It's a burden if you have no choice. I know women who choose to cover their hair and they're not suffering. How much of my body do I have to show off to prove to the world that I'm not oppressed? When I wear high heels and make up, am I oppressed or free? Isn't that entirely up to me to decide? When will the society and the govt stop telling women what to wear? I say this as an atheist and a woman. When women's clothing is so emotionally charged and political, then it's a problem. (Was there a time when this wasn't so?) The woman who wrote about her experience clearly has issues with her hijab - she shouldn't have to wear it. As a side note, we are the only animal with the concept of "nudity" which would make no sense whatsoever to the rest of the animal kingdom.
I feel sorry for Muslims women. Fatima forgot how she was scolded when she refused to put hijab on first time when she was a child . Hijab is not bad but it becomes burdened when it is forced. She was describing what it’s like to sacrifice for God and the struggle that comes with it with the hope of reward in the afterlife. That scenario could equally be applied to so many different sacrifices people make. Not cheating on a spouse, stealing from your company etc. It’s sad that when it comes to people then we are quick to enforce the right and wrongs, but when it comes to God then we actively encourage sinning and betraying Him. This is so heartbreaking. It reminds me of when I took my hijab off for the first time. It was 42c and I felt like I was gonna faint. I was in a bus with no men around so I pulled up my sleeve and loosened my the hijab from around my neck. I felt slightly better. But then men came in and I quickly covered myself again. But the men were wearing shorts and half sleeve tshirts. It made me so angry. Why can men walk around wearing whatever they want and I have to suffer under the shackles of hijab like i'm a second class slave.
And that was the moment I realized my worth in Islam. And at that point I rolled my sleeves up and took off my hijab. My hair was messed up and it got messed up even more but I didn't care for one bit. It felt like I was in prison and I finally got out. Never wore that thing again.

Contrary to popular opinion, the hijab has nothing to do with modesty.
The verse of the veil was revealed because muhamad’s perverted companion umar had a habit of spying on women when they left their homes to relieve themselves. The veil would thus help him differentiate between muslim women from non muslim women or slave women.
Narrated Abd Al-A’laa from Mo’ammar from Al-Zuhri from Anas who said: Umar saw a slave-girl wearing Hijab then he beat her and said: "Do not make yourself like free women!"
A slave girl of Muhajirun or Ansaar came to Umar wearing Jilbab (complete Hijab), he said: "Have you been freed?" She said: “No!” He said: “Put it off your head.” Jilbab is for the freed women. So she hesitated, so he got up to her with the whip (darrah), and he hit her on the head, until she threw it.

Narrated 'Aisha: The wives of the Prophet used to go to Al-Manasi, a vast open place (near Baqia at Medina) to answer the call of nature at night. So Allah revealed the verses of "Al-Hijab" (A complete body cover excluding the eyes).

A'isha reported that Sauda (Allah be pleased with her) went out (in the fields) in order to answer the call of nature even after the time when veil had been prescribed for women. She had been a bulky lady, significant in height amongst the women, and she could not conceal herself from him who had known her. 'Umar b. Khattab saw her and said: Sauda, by Allah, you cannot conceal from us. Therefore, be careful when you go out. She ('A'isha) said: She turned back. Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) was at that time in my house having his evening meal and there was a bone in his hand. She (Sauda) cline and said: Allah's Messenger. I went out and 'Umar said to me so and so. She ('A'isha) reported: There came the revelation to him and then it was over; the bone was then in his hand and he had not thrown it and he said:" Permission has been granted to you that you may go out for your needs."

Narrated `Aishah:
May Allah bestow His Mercy on the early emigrant women. When Allah revealed: "... and to draw their veils all over their Juyubihinna (i.e., their bodies, faces, necks and bosoms)..." (V.24:31) they tore their Murat (woolen dresses or waist-binding clothes or aprons etc.) and *covered their heads and faces* with those torn Muruts.
Also, in sura 24:31 it says: “…that they should draw their head covers over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands' fathers….”
Notice that “head cover” is mentioned in this verse. So if one is pulling down the head cover to one's bosom it logically follows that one must cover their faces too because the face is between the head and bosom. This is consistent with the hadiths above.
I'm sure that someone with the intelligence to write so well can understand what she reads.

There was one tiktok I saw of a hijabi girl and in that post she admitted to hating the hijab despite feeling like she should love it and a lot of young girls in the comments agreed with her. It is considered a sacrifice to a lot of these women and girls who wear it because they think there will be horrible consequences in the afterlife if they don't.
There will be horrible consequences in this life also. Very sad.
I have heard similar stories to this numerous times, women just dreaming of dropping it, feeling the wind in their hair. Once heard an elderly woman saying, that her biggest wish in this world, was to ride a bike, without the hijab, and feel the world as it is meant to be felt.
It's just a simple cloth. Will bald men start crying about hats next? How they wish they had hair?

A muslimah told me how a couple of times she'd gone to a café where there were no Muslims and had removed her scarf. She did not have this freedom in her daily life as her family would've gone crazy. Her father and now her husband are imams. Her new husband even asked her to wear contact lenses to cover her distinctive blue eyes. She gladly complied.

Once I met this 17 years old girl who graduated from high school with my 17 own teenage daughter. I asked her if Nazera was going to college, my daughter said no. She said that Nazera was going to be married off to a man from Florida state because her parents who were devoted Muslims had decided that she was to get marry instead of going off to college. I use to have a muslim friend and her family did that to all the girls in her family. She didn't go to college and was homeschooled all her life. She lives in a prison and denies it to me (I was supposed to be her best friend) and denies it to herself. Her dad didn't even force her to wear a hijab but once she married, her husband did.

When we criticize the Hijab, we need to clarify that we're not only criticizing those that force women to wear the Hijab but MORE IMPORTANTLY the difficulty of muslim women who wear it BY CHOICE. And that's why our focus is mainly not the Hijab, but dismantling the ideology of Islam so that even those women who put themselves under this difficulty by choice are also free from it in the coming years, as more awareness about the falsification of Islam is spread among muslims.

We strugge and sacrifice ourselves for Allah because it’s a test from him and I know we face hardships everyday but you will be rewarded because Death is inevitable no matter how rich, how healthy or how old someone is death is gonna come and Allah says that the biggest calamity that will happen is death because once someone dies, the test is over. You cannot pray to Allah no more and anything will be invalid after death. Now I’m not forcing down anything to you, the choice is yours.

All it takes to see the absurdity of religion is to imagine God being so mad and pulling his hair out because a woman didn't cover her hair. The creator of this unimaginably vast universe and possibly infinite universes full of unimaginably complex and wonderful heavenly bodies gets his panties in a knot because a woman's hair is uncovered. This is why when I was a muslim, I never wore the hijab - Why would the almighty god care if my hair was visible, and throw me in a fire because of it? The verse of the veil was revealed because muhamad’s perverted companion umar had a habit of spying on women when they left their homes to relieve themselves. The veil would thus help him differentiate between muslim women from non muslim women or slave women.

A slave girl of Muhajirun or Ansaar came to Umar wearing Jilbab (complete Hijab), he said: "Have you been freed?" She said: “No!” He said: “Put it off your head.” Jilbab is for the freed women. So she hesitated, so he got up to her with the whip (darrah), and he hit her on the head, until she threw it.

Narrated 'Aisha: The wives of the Prophet used to go to Al-Manasi, a vast open place (near Baqia at Medina) to answer the call of nature at night. 'Umar addressed her and said, "I have recognized you, O Sauda." He said so, as he desired eagerly that the verses of Al-Hijab (the observing of veils by the Muslim women) may be revealed. So Allah revealed the verses of "Al-Hijab" (A complete body cover excluding the eyes).

A'isha reported that Sauda (Allah be pleased with her) went out (in the fields) in order to answer the call of nature even after the time when veil had been prescribed for women. She had been a bulky lady, significant in height amongst the women, and she could not conceal herself from him who had known her. 'Umar b. Khattab saw her and said: Sauda, by Allah, you cannot conceal from us. Therefore, be careful when you go out. She ('A'isha) said: She turned back. Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) was at that time in my house having his evening meal and there was a bone in his hand. She (Sauda) cline and said: Allah's Messenger. I went out and 'Umar said to me so and so. She ('A'isha) reported: There came the revelation to him and then it was over; the bone was then in his hand and he had not thrown it and he said:" Permission has been granted to you that you may go out for your needs."

Narrated `Aishah:
May Allah bestow His Mercy on the early emigrant women. When Allah revealed: "... and to draw their veils all over their Juyubihinna (i.e., their bodies, faces, necks and bosoms)..." (V.24:31) they tore their Murat (woolen dresses or waist-binding clothes or aprons etc.) and *covered their heads and faces* with those torn Muruts.
Also, in sura 24:31 it says: “…that they should draw their head covers over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands' fathers….”
Notice that “head cover” is mentioned in this verse. So if one is pulling down the head cover to one's bosom it logically follows that one must cover their faces too because the face is between the head and bosom. This is consistent with the hadiths above.

Believing Muslims, Christians and others abstain from eating and drinking, sexual activity, sacrifice freedom,etc. and feel guilty when they fail. Some even harm themselves thinking that they will be rewarded after death.
To be clear: Just consuming every available joy and distraction that may cross your path does not make you happy. I´m not advocating for thoughtless hedonism. But everybody should be free to decide, when to enjoy eating and when to fast for health or spiritual experience. When to spend time with other people for whatever reason, and when to stay on his/her own. When to wear a scarf, and when to enjoy the wind blowing through the hair.

The Prophet, bless him, had quite a lot of trouble controlling his wives at times. So threatening them with hell was a great idea. Also he had trouble controlling himself at the sight of a young woman, and had to hurry home and grab Zaynab d. Jahsh instead.

The first time taking off the hijab was in public with a friend that I trust and it felt amazing! The cool breeze I felt when I was walking around the mall and no one seemed to bother me felt thrilling. But, sadly, I have to continue wearing the hijab in front of my family and I am waiting for the day that I can finally speak out to my family about my apostasy. Thank you for showing us this video ^^

1. There is absolutely NO quote in Quran, which states that a hair veil must be worn. A Hijab is an intrinsic motivation of protecting yourself from exposure. This might be a hair veil as well as modest clothing. Further has any Hadith tolerance for inaccuracies which makes it inadequate and an unsuitable source when it comes to controversial matters. And you are calling others as “fools”…
2. WHY should I voluntarily pick a religion, which locks me in and oppresses my freedom? This is the opposite of what faith is supposed to deliver. Believers should feel safe and freed from this mad world. A hair veil in the first place avoids this light feeling and deprives my freedom, as it comes with a behavior expected by the Muslim community.
One more thing, which proves my approach in that topic: Any culture has a different understanding of what a “proper “ hijab is. Some cover tight but let the face open, some cover the lower face part, some cover even the hands and eyes, some can see the hair-roots and it’s worn loose and some show their feet, others don’t. What a hijab is, depends on your community. I choose to be free as I want to feel empowered by my faith rather than oppressed.
Jannah is what you make of your life here on earth. Please let me know if anyone has been or seen someone back from Heaven since the beginning of time.

They say that it’s not men telling them to wear it … yet if we would ask how many women wrote Allahs word for her to read she would never draw the connection that it might be the men after all telling her.
A friend of mine, who privately had also apostatized few months ago, told me that she felt much more free whenever she takes her hijab off. Muslim women had always told her that, aside from the spiritual benefits and to please the creator, in term of worldly and material benefit it can be harvested too. Considering that muslim women who wear the hijab, wouldnt need to worry about having their hair groom and styled every week or even every month.
By means, it was said that by wearing a hijab, women may need less maintenance for their hair & head. All they had to spent is some money for the head scarves. Following my friend's journey, she started off with wearing hijab since child. Maybe around 12 years old or so, ever since that day, she never really took off her hijab unless in her own home with her mahram. For more than 10 years of wearing the hijab, she eventually had developed some skin and scalp issues, but her family never really got concerned or even cared about it since they'll brush it off by saying stuff like "The Hijab is what will help you conceal those issues that you're facing.." or "there's no need for a scalp treatment, you're wearing hijab so, what's the significance of treating and beautifying your hair, whilst you still need to cover them publicly".
Apparently, she's suffering from a scalp problem and a mild hair loss. She ended up had to pay a big load of money for scalp treatment and stuff. From something that she thought can be less of a burden, eventually lead to more bigger problem. That friend of mine regretted for not taking her hijab off sooner. She could've avoid all of this mess.
I have also "hear" that loss of hair is common in women who wear hijab.
This happened to my cousin, since she turned 12, she had to bundle up her long thick hair and wore a scarf her entire youth until she left, and during this time of wearing it, she had hair loss especially around the hair line zone. But the aunties made it like something to be proud of having. Sigh.
Abdulllah, I like the way you speak and you have my utmost respect and admiration for what you have done and to be able to speak out on behalf of others. I know it is so difficult for people to leave a faith that they were born and nurtured in and we must befriend others who need help in shaking off the ideas that tell us that God will judge us in the afterlife. That’s a terrible burden for young people to carry and it is totally unnecessary. Why can’t people belong to a faith and use their mind to sift through the unsupported ideologies? I wish and hope for a world where that freedom is possible.

Sahih means authentic (not porcupine as in Hindi) so it is a highly rated hadith and just below the Quran. Bukhari means from Bukhara, it is a city that is now in Uzbekistan. It is a lovely city and is well worth visiting.

I see a woman very aware of her feelings smothered by the using of hijab. I am a woman and ex muslim. I think hijab is very beautiful, but it is uncomfortable as it is demanded by men instead of the option of the woman.

Sadly, it's very unlikely that there is anything after death, so these women are missing out so much. They think that their religions, one of thousands, and their god, one of thousands, is correct and what they "believe" will turn out to be true (and hence everyone else will be wrong).
She chose that path. Not Allah/God.
And God does not ask for her to wear hijab.

I'll do that...the Quran, the hadith of Al-Bukhari and Muslim, the Sira of Ibn Ishaq/Ibn Hisham. Those are the core texts of sunni-islam, read those, and you will easily see how stupid an ideology it is. All one needs is the ability to think, and those books, and it will very soon become evident that everyone, especially women, should stay away from Islam.
@@Timeren2010 wouldn’t say that certain sira is a core text of Islam tho. It’s widespread but not at all comparable to the aforementioned. And keep in mind that that’s just Sunni sources, if you wanna learn about Shia Islam you have to read other texts. Same is true for Ibadi Islam, quranite Islam and so on and on

For example Sura Anfal (The Spoils) came down when Muslim warriors were squabbling about division of the Spoils of War after the Battle of Badr in 624CE.

It's just a piece of cloth. It could be a hat. Or a wig. It's a burden if you have no choice. I know women who choose to cover their hair and they're not suffering. How much of my body do I have to show off to prove to the world that I'm not oppressed? When I wear high heels and make up, am I oppressed or free? Isn't that entirely up to me to decide? When will the society and the govt stop telling women what to wear? I say this as an atheist and a woman. When women's clothing is so emotionally charged and political, then it's a problem. (Was there a time when this wasn't so?) The woman who wrote about her experience clearly has issues with her hijab - she shouldn't have to wear it.
As a side note, we are the only animal with the concept of "nudity" which would make no sense whatsoever to the rest of the animal kingdom.

Hijab is not bad but it becomes burdened when it is forced.
Hijab has become a part of their life as they have been wearing when their memorie was not even fully developed.
Couldn’t the same be said for women forced to pile on the makeup and dress scantily? Her experience is true for her and I’ve heard the opposite. Women who covered up and said how liberating it was and freeing to own their bodies for themselves after years of societal pressure

First of all my comment was primarily to do with abdullah sameer using this Muslim women’s post for his own anti Islamic agenda. She was describing what it’s like to sacrifice for God and the struggle that comes with it with the hope of reward in the afterlife. That scenario could equally be applied to so many different sacrifices people make. Not cheating on a spouse, stealing from your company etc. It’s sad that when it comes to people then we are quick to enforce the right and wrongs, but when it comes to God then we actively encourage sinning and betraying Him. I hope you understand where I’m coming from. This woman’s experience is right for her even though I don’t necessarily hold the same beliefs I admire her greatly as someone with great integrity.
Secondly, regarding why the emphasis is on women. Tell me, why do women have to cover their breasts in western countries while men don’t? whether little or a lot, the reasons matter do they not?

The fact is is that these countries have placed a limit, and that limit applies more to women than men. That’s a fact. How much of a limit is relative to the standards of that country.
I’ve seen secular people cry over a hurt dog but not even care about poor human beings. People will differ in what is and isn’t appropriate and you using your own personal standards and anecdotal experience to set the parameters for all people is unfair. The societal norm now is heavily sexualised to the point of being unrecognisable from even a few decades past and it starts small. People a few generations ago considered even showing the knees of women immodest. Your words are one sided at best. Can you even argue the positives of more modesty for women? it’s pretty straight forward
