I was waiting the whole video for you to put a bottle in the cage and it never happened...
I have this Carbon Works bottle cage, it does not last a year, the round part that surrounds the screw ends up breaking. It was exchanged for a new one but it broke again in the same place (I always respected the tightening torque and used on the good roads) ... too fragile at the strapping of the screws
I like the video, reading your responses! You take comments quite personal.. chill
I have these, they were expensive. The seat tube one would not fit,, cause the screw is too short to attach the cage AND pump mounting flange as well so had to use standard screw. ON first few uses, they will click, so sounds like they're breaking, but that goes away.
I think noone expected to mount a pump alongside an 8g cage
@@ronykuba Ya, but the practicality of riding means you need to take care of flats, and I don't like stuff in pockets cause in the sprint they pop out, as my cell and keys have. lol
We supply longer screws now. And you can use every M5 countersunk screw.
Good idea to put a strip of frame protector tape on the frame under the cage; the bottle rubs against the frame as you take it in and out
I never had any problems with that
@@ronykuba Thanks Ronald, Merry Christmas
Looks beautiful and the shape is quite unique. Have you tried the Lightweight Edelhelfer too? I'm thinking of changing cages and choosing between the Mandibles, Carbonworks , Edelhelfer or Tune Wassertraeger .
have you seen that the rear cage does not fit at the bottom, the bottle stops at the downtube.
FOLLOW UP ON POST BELOW:: Both of these cages broke where the screw mounts.. The material is just too thin and repetitive removing and inserting bottle flexes them, and they crack. too much money for a product that breaks. Also on RK saying who would expect to mount a pump by a 8g cage? Well, if you don't mount a pump there, you will carry 2 cartridges and the nozzle regardless.
that is over tightening and pure user error. I have put more than 30 000km in mine an they´re still going strong.
@@ronykuba sorry buddy, it's thin material. not OVER TIGHTENING.. Opinions of your yours are strong and wrong. Material is brittle.
@@cliffcox7643 it´s not my opinion, it´s 1.5 years of using the cages
@@ronykuba well. what I said is fadt, the cages are brittle and I didn't overtighten. In fact I hate re=tightening, so I just snug them w locker so they don't undo. So please dont suppose I did over tighten them.
@@cliffcox7643 THOSE CAGES ARE TOUGH AS NAILS
What bottles do you use? Would elite fly bottles have a Nice fit?
Elite fly
Aha found your video with carbon works help. Thanks
Cheers
I have had 4 of these CarbonWorks 8g bottle cages but only one is left now. They are just too easy to break and I don't think they are strong enough.
This is the latest 2.1 version which should fix that
Hi David.
Just send me an email.
We can upgrade your cages to the new version.
We finished some new features two weeks ago to make the version 2.1 even stronger.
@@buehlercarbonworks prize?
Hi David, thank you for your feedback. Did Carbonworks fix the issue?
What is the weight of the complete bike? Thanks
7.1kg
🤔 Why you didn't demonstrate how well those cages works, using an actual bottle during the video? 😒
I think everyone watching this understands the concept of bottle cages
@@ronykuba True. But u were the one that says it was a "bottle cage review". Sorry, didn't know review, means, "your opinion". ✌🏻
you should disclose whether this is a paid ad or not or whether you got free gear - i think it matters for a viewer.
I would have said if it was paid
I use the Bottle Cages since year and I can fully recommend them. I had all kinds of Bottle cages before but Carbonworks are the best. They hold the bottles very secure, are durable, light and pretty.
I have one for each bike and love them.
Looks like your front derailleur fell off.
There never was one in the first place
Not good to the fly bottle, but to other bottle its good.
Another video that drives me a little further into buying these wonderful pieces.
Did CarbonWorks pay you to make this video ?
No, just got the cages to test
I know it's a high tech, super expensive carbon product, but for me it looks like an alloy bottle cage from the early '90, what spoils the beauty of the S Works Venge.
90€ for a bottle cage ...
So what did you expect? it is an extreme product produced in Germany by a very small company. You should rather wonder about the prices of the other cages shown in the video.
@@moritzorama enve is 70 euros for like 25 grams lol
Waaaat? 90€ for bottle ffs 😆🙈
