those 2001 dinosaurs from the ''Dinosaurs'' theme that came in small boxes or canisters like bionicle hit the perfect sweet spot for me as lego dinosaurs.
I find it weird that lego hasn't made more varieties of pterosaurs, their pteranodon model is perfectly built for making new genera, most pterosaurs just have different head shapes and wing shapes
The Stegosaurus is my favorite dinosaur. And I am thrilled that they gave us one in Lego, and I do love the design and how it looks, however I can't help but feel disappointed in the laziness of the figure, I really wish it had more articulation. Same with the Brachiosaurus
11:57 In the concept art book for the Jurassic World installments. There was a cut scene with Triceratops in a valley that had a similar color scheme and also in the deluxe junior novelization it says that a Triceratops flipped a truck over. Also in that scene there was also Triceratops there , so it isn't entirely inaccurate.
I gotta be honest why lego didn't use the models in the jurassic world lego games they would def look better esp the stegosaurus and maybe giving us more sets instead of being lazy and reusing pieces instead
i genuinely hate lego for not using the models from jurassic world the lego game to make the ankylosaurus, stegosaurus and brachiosaurus. i mean they literally had the models done for them already, but they decided to make new models that look like they belong in lego duplo. lego is just trying to make money by “making” new dinosaur figures, not actually putting any love into them, despite being so easy to get it right, they cheaped out heavily, and made the sets more expensive for a cheaply manufactured lego dinosaur. lego was good up until 2021, now it’s all business, no imagination
The reasons why the necks of the stego and ankylo, legs of the brac, the head of the giga, are a bit strange is because, stego and ankylo would have barely any movement due to the stuff on the back and the neck of the stego is too small, the amount of head detail the giga has is too hard to replicate, and the mold for the brac would make it more expensive to make if the legs were articulated, im from with the giga but i want articulation anything with out articulation is dead to me
Been getting the Jurassic World legos for my nephew. The biggest thing I notice is the sizes + body moulds feeling off. So many are too big, then the ones like the sauropod are too small? Make it make sense. I don't think they will care to improve the designs, always opting for cheapest production value. That therizinosaurus absolutely looks hideous... rip.
From their point of view, why should they care about making a brand new set of feet, body parts, and tail for one dinosaur when they already gave it new arms and head? I get the reasoning behind it but it’s lazy
Part of me wonders if we can a happy middle ground between the modern and retro 2000s style, I heard the Jurassic World team was experimenting with a new build system with the ankylosaurus, but sadly Lego was cutting the budget for Jurassic World.
The last property done dinosaur was the indoraptor after that it’s just been going down hill as we get single molded dinos with no movement or articulation or very little of it or dinos useing other dino parts which is lazy and makes no since most of the time the giga has T rex arms and a indominus head and the theri has a indoraptor body which still has the raptor toe claw
The Lego Brachiosaurus is _unforgivable._ It was a travesty that it took Lego so long to make one, but the one they did make leaves a lot to be desired. I bought _two of those sets_ before realizing that the body was just one gigantic piece with the legs molded on. There is _no excuse_ to have the legs molded onto the body instead of being their own individual pieces. I wanted so badly to recreate the iconic scene from Jurassic Park with the Brachio standing on its hind legs to reach the tree. Knowing that it's now impossible has soured me on the entire wave.
I remember the first time I saw Lego Dino back in 2011 was the most magical time of my life considering I was obsessed with Lego and dinosaurs so it was a perfect timing, because the previous Lego dinosaurs didn’t look anything like this so it was very fresh and new at the time. But now with all the Jurassic World Lego sets the magic vanished away as they kept reusing the same models as the old Lego Dino sets.
I actually believe that the worst dinosaur that LEGO has made is the Allosaurus, the size compared to T-Rex is inexcusable and shouldn’t be tolerated, they should have just made new legs body and tail for the Carnotaurus and then reused it for the Thera, allo, and mabye baryonix. Also the giga not having 3 fingers is very annoying and mabye we can switch it out for Charlie’s arms/olive raptor arms, though I know people have used stygie arms but those are too small, great video and you are definitely no the only one thinking these things. Last thing but on a side note the original I-Rex Is superior to the newer one as the color was better ( Masrani even said it was white in the movie!) and the arms are better.
If you notice that the more dinosaur they redo or change and updated are worse than the original. Like look at the old dilophosaurus compared to the newer one or even more appropriate the informs hands
That's a very interesting video idea!! I own a copy of the game, so it wouldn't be too difficult. Maybe I'll do it someday! But for now the amout of video ideas i so much greater than the time available
I find I largely agree with with your assessment. The Brachiosaurus body should be bigger with more studs, also the head articulation at the neck base is not ideal and dose look odd.
What really bothers me are the really inconsistent sizes that are totally not up to scale. LEGO Carnotaurus is like in the same size category as T rex, the Velociraptors are way too huge. But the size of the other smaller raptors would fit way more for Velociraptor than the gigantic one. The Dilophosaurus is also too big... well funnily enough the size of the big one is actually pretty accurate to the actual size of the real Dilophosaurus and the one from the JP novel. But when looking at the movies, the smaller one is accurate.
You're right, I should have totally referenced that clade in the video, my mistake! At least the DINOSAURS in the title are finally giving my vids some views haha :)
I know that at the start of the video, you explicitly said that you wouldn't be ranking them based off print quality, but I've wanted a place to rant about this for some time now and in my opinion, it is a pretty big reason for why I feel like the Lego dinos (And other assorted prehistoric reptiles) are actually getting worse. I want to point out how the first wave of Jurassic World Dinosaurs, specifically the raptors, were so beautifully and intricately detailed. Compare that with the brachiosaurus. When I first saw it, I was disappointed. Not just by the lack of possibility in the legs, but in the lack of printing. And you can see this trend across most of the recent releases. Sure, the giganotosaurus was given a lot of detail, but it was also the star of the wave. Meanwhile, other dinos in the wave like the atrociraptors were getting no claw printing. That would bother me less if not for the fact that, frequently, bootleg Lego dinosaurs forgo these sorts of details in their own products. In lowering the quality of detail on their dinos, Lego is making them more and more similar to the off-brand and fake ones you can buy by the bucketload for fifty dollars cheaper.
The Lego Dino Series is my absolute favorite Lego Series of all time, I have most of the set but still planned to collect all of them Hell my Price Possession is the Dino HQ.
As someone who started collecting the lego dinos back in 2012 (stopped eventually due the price), I got really bothered with some new dinos. I have absolutely no complains until 2018. I do agree Carno should be smaller, Baryonyx looks just bad. With the Dilo reusing Raptor body, was completely fine, since their bodies look alike, and they at least changed the legs to remove the raptor claws, but with Baryonyx, they kept the raptor claws, not just that, the Indo hands too, in fact Bary is Indoraptor with a different head, and the Bary in the movie doesn't even have those spikes on it back, it was really lazy. Aside from that, I had no issue until Dominion. Giga looks fine for the most part, I think if they used a modified Indominus head with bigger spikes would be enough, and give him an extra claw in the hands, the claws on herbivores are not really something many ppl know aside from more hardcore dino fans, but the hands of theropods are more noticible. Therizinosaurus is the same case as the Baryonyx, it's just Indoraptor with different head (and hands this time), if the Indoraptor body didn't matched Baryonyx, imagine a feathered guy like Therizino, the brick made hands looks out of place too, Pyroraptor and Atrociraptor ate so disappointing in their sizes, they look so weird next to the Velociraptor, I truly think they should have made a new head for the raptor to make the Atrociraptor. Don't even get me started with the Triceranasutoceratops. Brachiosaurus I agree the legs should be articulated and it should be bigger, I'd say they should have made her brown, since it's a JP30 line. Allosaurus looks pretty good to me, and aside from the unpainted claws, I can pass everything else, but Stegosaurus... It simply doesn't look good, the pale plates are boring too. I wish LEGO kept a style similar to the LEGO Jurassic World game, just make models based on the dinos in the game, change the side when needed, and it would be perfect!
Yeah, Carno jaw is too short, so they would have had to produce a new one - I'm guessing that's why they decided to just roll with Bary - "Eh, close enough" probably.
I was actually wondering whether the olive green Trike was a Sino reference and decided that in my opinion no (but I may be wrong). I figures the set itself doesn't really reference any scene conected with Sino. And the colours, to me, don't seem to be a direct reference - we got dark red markings on the body and frill. I would expect not many markings on a Sino body and two orange patches on the frill.
12:54 my biggest guest were the machine limitations to make it Lego would needed a whole new machine just to make it so they probably want to keep it a bit smaller to make it easier to work with
Bro, the switch to Polish was so weird, I mean, I know that most people sound different in different languages, but this change was so striking, like an audiobook reader☠️, and that's why I hate recording audio to the videos
Haha, I was wondering whether I should leave the bloopers in and decided "why not". And yeah, I do notice myself sounding different when I mówię po polsku :)
@WronaBros. It was certainly funny and honestly really great, I mean it's always good to use trochę polskiego, from time to time, adds some charm I guess
I was hoping for the Lego Jurassic World game characters to be released, they were so perfectly proportioned and looked good, especially stego and ankylo.
That's why brickbuild dinosaurs are the best solutions, not only more poseable but you can remake them with different sets. What's the point of having big, moulded and boring mould when you can customize your own dinosaurs, try different colors etc. I believe in brickbuild dinosaur supremacy!
I absolutely see your reasoning! But in my case, the brick-builts look a bit too messy and moulds have some kind of a charm that appears to me. But that's just personal preference. I'm glad LEGO produces at least some brick-built dinos in Creator sets for people like you!
As compared to the Dino series dinosaurs, i also feel like theyre loosing their lego style in terms of colors and proportions. Like the Carnos face looks real derpy, the Pyro and Atroco look cheap and ugly, idk they just look overall, uglier. Say what u want about Coleophysis, the model could atleast hold a drumstick piece.
lego dinosaurs molds are better than other animal molds(in my opinion)the look of the dinosaur molds are kinda accurate but some dinosaurs are kinda to big or to small, some can move some can't but still everyone is not mad well maybe for the therizinosaurs but lego dinosaurs are just for fun i mean lego dinosaurs is for kids and maybe adult colletors and there not all bad plus maybe lego will improve there lego dinosaurs plus they maybe make a new mold for lego spinosaurs
I agree it's visable that lego dinos aren't what they used to be and the Stegosaurus os just a perfect example the colours are ugly and change too harshy and even if you look closs enough the eyes aren't painted there's just only the eye outline all in black and the eye colour is actually the undercolour of the entire mold
I feel like the larger dionos could really benefit from having brick built bodies If you look at the new ninjago dragons and the elves dragons you can get an idea of what these could be like Would make the price to part ratio way better I myself am working on a pitch for a Lego wings of fire theme so I’ve been looking a lot at Lego Dinos and dragons
Also I’ve been taking a look at the diffrent constraction themes and I have given them fully articulated elbows knees and hands Like as in five fingers and a thumb just as dragons should have (and I should say when I say dragon I mean the European two arms two legs and two wings dragon everything else that is called a dragon is actualy a draco which actual dragons are also draco as draco encapsulates all large scaley creatures since draco translates to big lizard)
I wish they had the dinosaurs made out of actionable Legos when it's a dinosaur that's big enough that that's feasible. I had a Lego T-Rex set from Creator I think about 10 or 15 years ago and it looked a thousand times cooler then the T-Rex that I would see in the Jurassic world sets or the other dinosaur thing they had before they got that franchise. The dinosaurs that are in most official Lego sets just look like really shity stupid undetailed versions of a dinosaur toy you can get at Dollar store. I mean seriously it's like the basic dinosaur action figures you can find but they smoothed out all of the scales and detail on it
I agree with most of your opinion, although I also have some mixed feelings, which are more due to my personal preferences. For example, regarding the triceratops from Dominion, which should have been a nasutoceratops. I won’t hide the fact that I would really to see new types of ceratopsians introduced, but on the other hand, triceratops is my favorite LEGO dinosaur, and I find its color scheme from set 76950 the most attractive. I love it looks like the leader of the herd, who has fought many battles with a T. Rex (it reminds me of Cera’s father from The Land Before Time series). As for the reduction in the number of new molds in LEGO, this is something I’ve been noticing for some time across various series. One of my friends suggested that the company has a limited number of new elements it can introduce to the market each year, which is why they prioritize the most important ones. It’s also interesting to see the increasing frequency of sets being released that aren’t based on minifigure scale. A perfect example of this is the Fortnite series, where only one set includes minifigures. As you said, all we can do is wait. Jurassic World Rebirth has huge potential to shine, but with the recent developments I mentioned and how much focus this year has been placed on dinosaurs molds for Spider-Man sets, I’m worried that the brand will focus more on sets like buildable movie logos. Ps. Też czasem rozmawiam ze swoimi dinozaurami.
Haha, there is some resemblance to Cera's father with the grayish colours. And I'm happy there are people who enjoy that design! The non-minifig-scale buildable sets do seem to be here to stay for JW. For now it seems like they release them in winter and then the moulded-dinosaur in summer (number of sets based on the Jurassic media released that year). And yes!! The Spider-Man sets have a baby Stego - absolutely waiting for an olive-green body + tan plates recolour. And I REALLY want that Gwen-Pterosaur in regular colours. But I'm somewhat worried we might not get it... It doesn't fit in Jurassic World. But reminds me SO MUCH of the Adventurers Ptera. We did get Thunder, Kilory and Reed redesigned recently... I wouldn't mind a small, single "Return to Dino Island" set similar to set 5934! But that's probably too crazy haha. My head-canon is that Adventurers: Dino Island has tiny dinos because of insular dwarfism. Jak miło dostać komentarz od innego polskiego LEGO-dino-jutubera :)
Imo the LEGO Pteranodon is the best LEGO extinct Ornithodiran ever in terms of design, the only two scientific inaccuracies I see is that the head should be bigger and the and the beak should be curved up but still it’s BEAUTIFUL it even is minifig scale
@@MarvynGbro the only good thing was it’s head mold and even the whole head still has it had the baryonix lower jaw making the only good part also terrible
The Lego atrociraptors are atrocious, all they had to do was make a new head sculpt and put it on the raptor body and everyone would have been happy with that
@ my main problem is the size due to the atrociraptors either being bigger or about the same size as the raptors it’s that and the articulation which are why i dislike them but I am glad that you can enjoy them though
Oh, there's certainly a lovely charm to them! But a T.rex smaller than an elephant? Well... On a Dino Island with insular dwarfism okay, but I wouldn't like a "real" LEGO rex to look like that.
LEGO Jurassic Park The Game sets? I'm not quite sure what you're refering to. Do you mean we should have sets based on JP: The Game? If so, I absolutely agree, because I consider the game canon. But I think it'd be difficult because of it being so niche and the game's ownership. If you mean the dinosaur moulds should look more like the LEGO Jurassic World game models, then I think I agree in some, but not all cases. If you are asking about my opinion on the set 30320 Gallimimus Trap, which was included with the LEGO Jurassic World game disc, then I have it and like both the set and the idea of its' inclusion. Whoah, what an essay :) Hope I answered your question
those 2001 dinosaurs from the ''Dinosaurs'' theme that came in small boxes or canisters like bionicle hit the perfect sweet spot for me as lego dinosaurs.
They are so nostalgic
The first 5 minutes is just explaining the daily life challenges of a lego Jurassic UA-camr
LEGO Prehistoric Planet would be interesting 😄
W idea
So many Azhdarchid sets
Haha, I would certainly enjoy sets more focused on dinosaur + terrain and vegetation, rather than everything being just dino + vehicle.
I find it weird that lego hasn't made more varieties of pterosaurs, their pteranodon model is perfectly built for making new genera, most pterosaurs just have different head shapes and wing shapes
True. The main problem is probably the lack of other similarly-ish-sized pterosaurs in JW
I mean c'mon. The stego has ZERO joints.
CAP. Did you even see two pictures of it the legs can move
@Pipecleaners0.1 Ok.... I can see it now.
The Stegosaurus is my favorite dinosaur. And I am thrilled that they gave us one in Lego, and I do love the design and how it looks, however I can't help but feel disappointed in the laziness of the figure, I really wish it had more articulation. Same with the Brachiosaurus
Even with models that are jointed like the T. rex, the articulation and joints are so PRIMATIVE. They need ball joints for cinematic posing and play.

Scientifically accurate dinosaurs would be a welcome change
YES THEY ARE
As compared to the Dino series dinosaurs, i also feel like theyre loosing their lego style in terms of colors and proportions. Like the Carnos face looks real derpy, the Pyro and Atroco look cheap and ugly, idk they just look overall, uglier. Say what u want about Coleophysis, the model could atleast hold a drumstick piece.
Wish Lego made sets on the Primeval series. The Lego creatures' version of those from the show would have been awesome to see.
lego dinosaurs molds are better than other animal molds(in my opinion)the look of the dinosaur molds are kinda accurate but some dinosaurs are kinda to big or to small, some can move some can't but still everyone is not mad well maybe for the therizinosaurs but lego dinosaurs are just for fun i mean lego dinosaurs is for kids and maybe adult colletors and there not all bad plus maybe lego will improve there lego dinosaurs plus they maybe make a new mold for lego spinosaurs
Hmm, interesting info! I see your point. But for my liking the in-movie appearance of Nasuto is still too strongly represented by this Trike
11:22 Yet another reason why I still hope for a sequel to Lego Jurassic World
I agree it's visable that lego dinos aren't what they used to be and the Stegosaurus os just a perfect example the colours are ugly and change too harshy and even if you look closs enough the eyes aren't painted there's just only the eye outline all in black and the eye colour is actually the undercolour of the entire mold
Oh, interesting detail about the eye! Haven't noticed it before. I'll have to check what it looks like on older dinos
I feel like the larger dionos could really benefit from having brick built bodies
If you look at the new ninjago dragons and the elves dragons you can get an idea of what these could be like
Would make the price to part ratio way better
I myself am working on a pitch for a Lego wings of fire theme so I’ve been looking a lot at Lego Dinos and dragons
Also I’ve been taking a look at the diffrent constraction themes and I have given them fully articulated elbows knees and hands
Like as in five fingers and a thumb just as dragons should have
(and I should say when I say dragon I mean the European two arms two legs and two wings dragon everything else that is called a dragon is actualy a draco which actual dragons are also draco as draco encapsulates all large scaley creatures since draco translates to big lizard)
God no
I wish they had the dinosaurs made out of actionable Legos when it's a dinosaur that's big enough that that's feasible. I mean seriously it's like the basic dinosaur action figures you can find but they smoothed out all of the scales and detail on it
from the first set you discuss i have the trike and pteranodon, i sadly broke the Pteranodon and lost the raptor
More UA-camrs need to add bloopers at the end of their videos.
I’m completely fine with Giga using the Indom head because I genuinely think the Indom head look more like the Giga than it ever did the Indom
Haha, maybe true. But then in my opinion Indom should have had a different head
Imo the LEGO Pteranodon is the best LEGO extinct Ornithodiran ever in terms of design, the only two scientific inaccuracies I see is that the head should be bigger and the and the beak should be curved up but still it’s BEAUTIFUL it even is minifig scale
Good to get these types of videos dometimes.
The answer is yes, just look at what they call allosaurus 💀💀💀 at this point i dont even want them to make a spino
what did they call allosaurus?
@MarvynG the absolute abomination that was in one of the latest jw Sets
@profilenotfound2525 I thought it looked okay. What's wrong with it? Is it the head? The body?
@MarvynG its awful, just a trex body with indom arms and a fkn baryonyx under jaw 💀 very unoriginal and low effort plus looks ugly
@@MarvynGbro the only good thing was it’s head mold and even the whole head still has it had the baryonix lower jaw making the only good part also terrible
10:47 tbf therizinosaurus was a maniraptoran
Erm
@ what?
@PteranoLiv This does not justify having sickle claw.
@ oh ofc it doesn’t I was just making an observation
I would love to know what bros saying at the end?
What about non avian Ornithodorians?
Yep, absolutely right, my fault for not thinking of that!
I think we can all agree Lego dinosaurs peaked in 2005.
Im still waiting for a Spinosaurus Lego :(
We'll get it one day... I'm almost sure, it's very iconic for the franchise
The Lego atrociraptors are atrocious, all they had to do was make a new head sculpt and put it on the raptor body and everyone would have been happy with that
I actually like what they look like, but that's just my preference. They certainly lack articulation tho
@ my main problem is the size due to the atrociraptors either being bigger or about the same size as the raptors it’s that and the articulation which are why i dislike them but I am glad that you can enjoy them though
If only "worse" meant "back to the general size of the Dino Island molds" because those were small, but felt "right"
Oh, there's certainly a lovely charm to them! But a T.rex smaller than an elephant? Well... On a Dino Island with insular dwarfism okay, but I wouldn't like a "real" LEGO rex to look like that.
What do you think of Lego Jurassic Park The Game sets?
Bird Review !!! 😂❤❤❤❤❤
I still want a Lego spinosaurus
thank god i got all of them lego dino sets, it was my kid self's dream
Wow! Congrats! Very happy for you! I'm only missing the HQ now
you are so right
I actually think they deserve mutch less points.
Maybe you're right. I just don't like being too harsh
Not to mention most of the colours are bad looking like the ones from the JP sets looks awful
czemu kaloryfer XD?
Wyrewolwerowany kaloryfer, taki łamaniec językowy żeby sprawdzić, czy już jestem w stanie mówić słowa
@@WronaBros. aaa sporo wyjaśnia
HEY....leave avatar out this
holy based
They are not getting worse😡
I'm glad you're enjoying the new dinos as much as the old ones! What I presented in the video is just my personal humble opinion
POLSKA GÓRĄ!11!1!!11!!!11!
Ciekawe czemu ten film pokazuje się Polakom, po angielsku żem go przecież nagrał.
Lego dinosaurs are only getting better
Oh, nice to hear that some people are enojying the new dinos!!
Finally someone talking about this
Brick built anything needs to be certain size to look good! LEGO just needs to stop cheaping out and make lego dinos great again!
Great point! Avatar solved this well with their smaller creature - Direhorses being a single mould.
