Good stuff! I didn't even know JRB was still in business. That Alpha Direct liner looks intriguing. A 100 bucks for an 7 oz summer quilt sounds like a good deal. I'll bet it would make a nice pillow for tent camping as well.
It was great meeting you in person, Mark. We met in the primitive camping area as you were doing your tour looking at setups. You are just as nice in person as you come across on your UA-cam videos. Keep on keeping on - we need more UA-camrs like you that are hammockers to create more awareness of the amazing things that a hammock can do for your camping experience.
Mark, thank you for your video on this "little" hang of ours. You are completely right, the community here was, is, and will continue to be the big driver for our growth. Whether you are a car camper, hiker, bike packer, motorcycle camper, etc, Hangcon has a place for you. It was a joy seeing you again and my pleasure grabbing ya from the airport. You have provided this community so much it's the least I could do. My only regret is we didn't get that cup of coffee together, which I still have a bag for ya 😂.
Back in the day, you and Shug were the only guys I watched to “figure it out.” Hammocks are a bit fiddly. Glad you’re back! The innovations in gear are amazing. Great virtual tour, thanks.
It was sure nice and fun having you back since the Doe Lake HangCon. The Sugarland's compound is a very special and welcoming place. Between you and me, that specific spot is always marked off for them (and it's your home as well). If you are ever wanting to have some quiet time by the fire, come get me, I'll make it happen. Floridahanger
I appreciate it! It’s awesome to have so many people at the event that are so welcoming and have really made me feel like a solid member of the family!
Juliette and I both really enjoyed spending time with you. You’re such a nice humble guy with a ton of great stories to tell! I hope we can meet up again in the future - we will certainly be back next year , we’ll reserve your trees:)
You guys are awesome, I thoroughly enjoyed our conversations. And I couldn't help and smile at the conversations between you and your son, such good stuff!
Thanks for your detailed video. I've been looking for information on this event. Being relatively new to hammock camping, it was too late to plan on attending this, but gives me something to look forward to next year. I feel like I'm just scratching the surface in the world of hammock gear. Currently we (my wife and I) are rocking Grand Trunk Evolution hammocks (which we LOVE) and general tarp setups. We are in the learning curve and loving every minute of it. We look forward to attending these events in the future! Liked and subscribed.
Your video is wonderful we always enjoy seeing everything with you. Your special words to Greg and me warms my heart. I agree those truly wonderful conversations and life stories around the fire is my favorite time. Very much looking forward to our next hang all together. You’re part of the family. 🥰
We couldn't make it down this year, but I knew that I could look forward to your video because you have the gift of always being able to capture the pulse of an event. Thanks again for sharing Mark.
Good to see Ridge is still out there. I'd love for them to be available online again so I can recommend them for people just getting started. I could use another one since I keep one in most of our cars.
Great to meet you, Mark! And honestly I'm glad we can blame you for our dwindling bank about 😂 Your videos are well thought out. I agree, I'm not "peopley" either but I'm comfortable with hammock campers or outdoorsy people. HangCon is the one event I look forward to every year. It's MY holiday! Hope to see you at another hang. "Love Monkey" 🐒
Great video man, the hitch mounted hammock system you showed was my set up. I have a video making it! I wish I would have caught up with you! There was so much to do! Lol Thanks for all the hard work!
Sweet set up! That’s a cool part of these events is seeing how everyone does it. You’d think 3-4 days would be long enough, but the time really does fly by.
Happy New Year Mark! Great video and afterthoughts. You made a comment in your last segment that is the key explanation for me. It’s the comradeship with like-minded people. In this case it’s hammock camping enthusiasts. We are a unique bunch of people who find it hard to explain to friends and family why we would rather sleep suspended above ground by two skinny cords in a piece of fabric tied off between two trees or other fixed points.😂😂😂😂
Nice video. Once you entered primitive area, I had hoped to see my giant purple tarp set up, but you filmed left & right & all across 😎😂 Thanks for posting this.
Saturday was the warmest. My UGQ Winterdream tarp really saved me with all the rain. Best one in my quiver when facing that kind of wind. I jumped in on a Quillo Jr at Christmas. Nice to put faces to the product I ordered on the web. Jen knows when someone needs assistance. She gave me a lot of advice this past summer when I had a problem.
Loved seeing you again Mark, doing what you do best! We found out later that the helicopter that was flying over you in the beginning of the video was concerned over the line of cars! 😁
If anybody should take us on an AV tour of Hangcon, it's definitely this channel! Thanks so much! I would love to go sometime, if nothing else, to display my homemade Home Depot setup😊. More importanly to meet cool folks. Take care. NQU
For sure, it was great finally getting to meet you in person. Glad you and the family made it out, and even got to go do some other exciting family things (NASA).
I was schedule to go to Hangcon this year but got COVID right before Wednesday when I was suppose to leave. So Mark THANK YOU! I really appreciate this video so much as I got a small taste of the good times!!! I will be waiting in anticipation for your review of the integrated UQ hammock from Dutch.
Great video. Thank you. Like you, I am a bridge guy now. But, I am a 73 year old backpacker who has to sometimes take my GE hammock on my longer trips due to the weight, I am really looking forward to your video on the Majestic Hammock. Could it be the answer to weight and comfort/sleep? I will wait patiently. Thanks again.
Mark, I have wanted to go to HangCon for long time. I am going to make it a goal next year. I going to try and plan it around my 246 mile Florida kayaking trip down the Suwannee River to the Gulf. I seen you on Trip's channel and was waiting to see this ViD come out.
Ah damn. I wanted you to go to Hangcon but I couldn’t convince anyone else to fly down from Nova Scotia with me. I didn’t feel like going solo and not knowing anyone yet. 😢
I will check with the owner, but I'm sure it's probably printed by Dutchware Gear. You can reach out to them with just about anything you want printed.
That Quillow is a great idea. Dammit I thought I hade everything I needed.
See, told you I was gonna do it again! Always making people (me included) spend too much money!
Great coverage. I enjoyed it very much.
Glad I could bring along!

So a few years back JRB came under new ownership and it's going strong!

So little, you guys need to step it up and get some real attendance numbers! LOL. I was wondering where the coffee was, I was drinking Folgers!!!
Back in the day, you and Shug were the only guys I watched to “figure it out.” Hammocks are a bit fiddly. Glad you’re back! The innovations in gear are amazing. Great virtual tour, thanks.
Great video. I have wondered what Hang con was all about. Looks like my kind of place.
Now you know! You should look into getting out to one!
HangCon is always a great time. I enjoyed seeing everyone again. Me and my motorcycle will be back next year!!!
Awesome video...I saw the hangtight booth...I have four of his quilts and love them... Very affordable and great quality...
Yeah, his stuff is very affordable and he has earned a great reputation!
as always great video Mark. You did a wonderful job capturing what hangcon is all about.
Thanks Pickl, good seeing you again!

@@SpiguyverBackpacking1 aww thats great to hear!
Very cool. I always enjoy your Hangcon videos. Great to see all the different setups.
It is always cool to see what people are doing with their setups!

You too make it way too easy! MAHHA?
I'm looking forward to your review of the Majestic hammock - thanks for the great video!
Nice video. These types of videos are always hard to do but you make it seem easy
Thanks Jason! Looking forward to watching your adventure!
We couldn't make it down this year, but I knew that I could look forward to your video because you have the gift of always being able to capture the pulse of an event. Thanks again for sharing Mark.
Thanks Scott, hope things are well! I’ll see you at MAHHA.
Great video Mark! Also, your beard is epic! 😜
I'm just trying to keep mine half as clean and groomed as yours!
MVP to UGQ Quillow / great video, keep em coming
It’s a pretty well designed multi-use product!
Hey Mark our paths kept almost crossing throughout the event really wish we had an opportunity to meet. Great capture of the event! Tony 2.0
Crazy that we never met up!
Thank you for taking me along. Looks like an awesome event and an awesome venue.
It really was, thanks for watching!

Happy New Year! Absolutely, it's completely about the people!
Yay! A Spiguyver video! It feels like its been awhile.
It really has been a while!
I’m wicked jealous. Would have loved to fly in from Germany to meet all of you.
Nice video. Once you entered primitive area, I had hoped to see my giant purple tarp set up, but you filmed left & right & all across 😎😂
Thanks for posting this.
PS: relating 💯% with „crowds having a draining effect“. Your candor is much appreciated!
It was so great to get to meet you and be apart of this great video.
Glad we were able to meet and I could have you tell part of your story. So what was the conclusion???
@@SpiguyverBackpacking1 I am still working on it. I ended up with the tarp at hangcon but I’m not giving up.
Fantastic video. Why haven’t I heard of this event sooner?
Not sure, but now you know!
So you're an extroverted introvert? Glad to hear I'm not the only one who gets anxious in crowds.
Really I’m an introvert that has learned to fake it well enough to get by!

oh yeah. You said HG wasn't needed but Saturday night they opened up for folks after the raffle. Then they sure were needed!
Exactly, I went by the booth afterward and there were far fewer quilts with how cold it was!
Great video! Glad to have met you!
It was great to meet you as well! I need some of your energy to leak over to me!
Thanks for taking us along!
Thanks for coming along!

Mark you did a FANTASTIC job on this video
I appreciate that, I enjoyed the event!
It was great meeting you Mark!
You too Matt! You've got some great looking packs, wish I had found more time to talk with you about them.
Shoutout to Ridge Outdoor Gear! My first hammock and the hammock that's always in my car or day bag for adventures.
Thanks Mark .. we grew up with passports though.. was a great experience på be there.See you next year
I kind of figured that would be the case! Glad you came and experienced the event, hope you had a blast!

I would like to here more about Ridge
I’d like to go next year just to try some out. I’m ready to buy setup but don’t know the one to fit me best.
Ah damn. I wanted you to go to Hangcon but I couldn’t convince anyone else to fly down from Nova Scotia with me. I didn’t feel like going solo and not knowing anyone yet. 😢
Come to the next one, I don't think you'd have any trouble finding friends there!
Come on down next time even if you come alone - it's like a big family at this event!
I guess I’ll be coming next year.
Hey, it's me!
Just found your video thanks. Where and when is this event set for each year?
Martin Luther King weekend in January every year in Florida. Find more info at Hangcon.com
Who makes that Dark side of the Moon tarp?
