Exploring the Grand Canyon, takes time. We began visiting the canyon in 1969, have been going back each year since. We toured the country in our RV, saw a lot of National Parks, but the GC was still our favorite. So ten years ago moved to Arizona, so we could visit every month or so and have been spending a week there at least ten months of the year. Each visit we camp at Desert View or Mather and when too full one of the National Forest Campgrounds or Boondock in the National Forest for a week. As seniors we have the Senior Pass, You cant beat the price $10 for Lifetime... If over 55 check it out.

Should be amazing ! I have been in the united states for than more 1 year. Unfortunately I have not seen national parks. I don't know even where should I visit in the united states, but I have a dream that is travelling from eastern coast to western coasts. The America is waiting for me to discover again. I think that whoever climb the peak, that is exploration for himself. I believe that you feel different and more forceful and more faithful yourself at your every visiting Grand Canyon. I hope that you hear me. Congratulations ! never lose your faith to live !!!

Ahh the Grand Canyon, aka the real Egypt. Sad how we’ve abandoned the real natives that lived inside.

When you’re there, stood at the rim it is simply an overpowering site in front of you, simply too grand to take in and comprehend. Arizona is a special place, Sedona being my favourite.

How can the river calve the canyon?
The rivers flow's in the opposite direction to the slant of the landscape, so the river didn't calve the canyon.
It was likely and exit point when the fountains of the deep burst open at the flood.
Then the land filled in, and then washed out in a spillway when the waters were running on and off the Earth.

Man, to understand how the Grand Canyon was formed, take a look at something in miniature : Mt St Helens eruption in 1980. All the observations are right there. No need for speculation.
The only difference would be the upliftment of certain areas after a huge catastrophic flood of biblical proportions.

We all need to focus on increasing the ANIMAL HABATAT!!!! We need to push Legislation to increase the size of federally protected land and Sea by 100x. And we need that space protected from hunters, roads, low flying aircraft, fishermen and tourists that litter and create waste. The DEVELOPERS are winning :(. every ocean has a line of houses on it, every lake and every river has houses being built on them. The natural habitats we have need to be protected on both land and sea. No fishing and netting zones need to be established. in 50 years the only way you will be able to see animals are 1. as pets, 2. in a Zoo and 3. In a small fenced off preserve. There will be no Habitat left for our grand children and the ocean will be mostly empty unless we act now. Mail your Congressmen and Senators and President.

You have a better explanation, then share it with us. THe story of millions of years is wayyyyyyyyy too slow to explain what is obviously a catastrophic event of biblical proportions.
The energy required to cut thru such a vast landscape, leaving no erosion between layers can only point to one monumental amount of water being released at once.
