one of the things i really love about your work is that you shoot in colour. SO SO many channels that shoot anything bigger than 4x5 keep going to black and white and i think to myself its such a shame they don't use colour more often. Very impressed by your work. Keep them coming
Shane, looks as though this will grow into a fabulous LF channel. . I do like the inclusion of camping and truck in the desert footage. Much better than sitting in your office and showing some photos you've take,. ATB, Gary.
I love these with the uniform light. A lot of 'Large Format' Channels only do B&W but I always prefer colour, even on dull days which we get a lot of here in Ireland You also display a calm disposition taking these shots Brilliant! 📷👌
Enjoyed all three videos, Shane. Thanks for making them. Nice to see the Toyp at work. It's a splendid camera. I'm curious about the information taped to its side. Is it bellows factors?
UA-cam will never give the glorious detail of 8x10 film, shame. Wondered if you had given thought to filtering the sky? No clouds but it might have brought the brightness down a touch. Either way thanks for the video and going through your process.
Love the last composition. I just returned from a trip to Tucson and Saguaro National Park seeking something similar, but came up short. The density of the Saguaros in the West District makes it challenging to find the perfect Saguaro without all the distractions around it. Next time, I'll check out the BLM land you were running around on.
I enjoy your videos so much Shane, really laid back and chill. I wonder how you meter those scenes? Meter for the shadows and adjust the sky with a grad ND? I really struggle to position those somehow...
Thank you, Simon! I’m glad you enjoy them. I meter off of 18% grey, place my shadows in Zone 3 (for color neg) and watch my highlights. It varies scene by scene. Position your grad with your lens stopped down, this help a bit, but there’s definitely some guess work when placing grads.
I agree with Doug, I got as far as 6:30 and gave up, filled with fluff and no photography, I personally don’t need to see a camping set up and breakfast and lunch..
Well as Shane said you can’t please everyone, I myself like the whole journey and the end result was beautiful photos of an amazing place, thanks Shane cheers 🇦🇺.

I'm just loving the G-Wagon in the desert vibe.
Thanks! It’s been a great truck.

Thanks Gary! I’m glad you like it.
so beautiful shots....
Thank you and I appreciate the shots for the edited film and the story.
Thanks for the work that went into these. 10x8 is so great!

Fine photos! Your videos are interesting and relaxing! My question is "what about snakes when hiking and climing?" Kind regards from Sweden.
Great video. Kudos for starting a LF channel. Neat camping rig.
Thank you! Glad you liked it.
I really like your camper van. :)
Thanks! A tour will be coming out this weekend.

Thanks, Bernard! Agreed! The Toyo is a great camera. Taped to the side are reciprocity failure times.
Excellent timed images.
Thank you!

I agree, it’s all for the prints. None of these photos made it much further than UA-cam, so I didn’t put much effort in the edit. Thanks for watching!

Can you tell me what is the focus point ?
😊😊👌👌👍👍❤❤
90mm lens?
What digital gear are you using? Amazing footage. You will bypass me quickly. lol
Thank you. I’m using a Sony A7sII
A bit heavy handed in the production. Watching your car drive around is not educational. Sorry, couldn’t finish it.
That’s ok! You can’t please everyone. Thanks for the comment.

@@aleckelly2706 Thanks for the input. This is my first attempt at making videos on a photography trip. They should improve overtime.
Personally I think it adds to the whole ambiance. There was plenty of photography as well.

QT Luong who shoots with a large format puts this photographer to shame.
