Grew up in Chico, raced at Cycleland Speedway about 10 miles South on Hwy 99. Rode 200 Bultaco, 250 CL72 Honda in a Sonicweld rigid framer, and Suzuki X6 with four speeds not the six also in a Sonicweld. No brakes 1966 to when I quit. Great time. Worked for the Honda dealer Brownell's Honda, Triumph. Silver Dollar was just cars at that time.
This really funny stuff coming from the Announcers. My Brother would jump of our house on my Suzuki Ts 250, it had no compession relief. And yes that was back in the day when dirt bikes had duel shocks. It had a Weisco racing piston it launched him over the handle bars. He danced around holding his butt cheaks, I tried to warn him. But I had also done thing's to the carb, I added a gross valve, increased the size of the jetts, just enough. O.K. it was a two stroke but it had balls !!! 🤔
In district 36 we slid the DT II's as well. The first couple times you rode with them you could not believe the extra grip and drive you got out of the corners. Was super easy to win after using pirellis k70's and carliles. Pretty soon you got used to them and had to fight for a win just like before. Ricky V 330A.

Chico cycle land, Orland half mile, 70s District 36 days
Fast 2strorke engines, tight battles for points
and #1 plate. Loved it, lived it.
Ahhhhhhh 2 Strokes! That's real flat tracking! 🙂

I can tell you exactly when the track changed from sideways racing to follow the leader racing , we changed from DT1 to the wider DT2

There was another time the Handle Bars broke in half !!! 🤔
This track looks like Fremont !!!!!!!!
Ahhhh, Fremont! In between racking we would climb to the top of the stands and watch the drag racing behind the oval! 🙂
This is the kind of thing that made me buy the FTR1200. 😉
Go Salinas Netto !!!!!!!!
Yep, and their hands are in your wallet!!!!
To bad they're not true Speedway Solo Motorcycles. Disappointing.
