Really sublime performance of Händel's Flute Sonata. The support of the harpsichord is very gentle. An ideal combination of the two instruments. Thank you for the nice upload!
@guziyin Been playing for about 25 years, lucked out in high school, I was in the right place at the right time(Mt.pleasant,MI). I met a fantastic teacher that went to Juliard, and was a student of Kincaid. At the time I didnt invest too much value in that (because of my own ignorence). Since then I have come to realize that that experience was quite invaluable. She was in her later years, and I learned a great deal from her, she charged me nothing, knowing that my family was quite poor.
I don't know why people keep posting the outdated no vibrato in baroque music comment. Buy a copy of Downington's interpretation of Early Music and get over it. Lovely playing.
@guziyin It does seem to loose its way doesn't? Even though he followed the "rules" of the ad libitum, i found myself loosing the spirit of Handel durring the allegro. I would like to have heard the essence of the second movement come out a little more durring the repeats when the customary color was added. Matter of taste though i guess. (By the way, guziyin you got a good ear.)
Played with great musicality! Very nice, well controlled vibrato and intonation. Very nice subtle ornemantation. You fore sure had the skills to tackle a piece much more technically challenging. (your teacher made you do it?) Fantastic harpsichord playing also!
@guziyin After finishing my education, and being able to make a living, needless-yo-say I made it right with her, considering she spent week upon week for a few years investing all that time and energy with me at no cost. It was truly a blessing in which I will cary with me for the rest of my life. (Im 34 now)
Playing this and the allegro in a concert in a few weeks, and now feeling extremely nervous, this is absolutely brilliant.
Both musicians one great charm, what a wonderful performance!
So beautiful. I actually shed a tear... Great interpretation of the piece.
Beautiful flute tone and expressive control! Wonderful performance.

It's on the Trinity grade 6 syllabus here in the UK. Possibly the grading is different in Oz.

Lovely playing.
Very beautiful! Even made me feel like abandoning my recorder and going for transverse flute. (But I will not do it! xD)
Daniel I’m trying to master this piece like you and i was wondering what the best way to practice is, without the piano?

should be played by an alto, but otherwise perfect
А чья это редакция?
And handsome guy too 😍
me63773 sorry to break it to ya but im ding it in 4th
Why does every phrase trail off in a that busy vibrato? No breath control at all.....

great flue player, but the harpsichord needs more attention!
no vibrato in baroque music
This kind of playing baroque music is outdated. And... no such (modern) vibrato in baroque music.
good job
