I Bought a HUGE Vintage Hockey Card Collection! Will I find a Gretzky Rookie?

- A gentleman contacted me and explained that he had some hockey cards he wanted to sell. He said he had some older cards from the 70's and 80's but didn't elaborate on what he had exactly.
It's hit or miss with sports card collections but I decided to take my chances and check it out anyway. Will I score big or strike out?

Vintage cards are the best. You got some really nice cards. Love the Red Wings ones for sure.
It was a fantastic collection! Thanks for watching!
OMG 1000$ what a steal
Nice pick up! Congrats! Have the best day! Thanks for sharing!!!
Thank you very much!
How cool is old time hockey !!
I love all hockey. Thanks for watching!
$1000 is actually a very fair deal..!!!! Obviously 400 would be better.. lmao... But... seriously $1000 is good and fair..!!!
I have purchased a big collection once. It took me about 6 months to go through the collection and was a fun process. Not sure I would do it again.
That Gretzky rookie looks like at least a grade of 5. Which would be about a $1,400 card USD.
Great of you to give him some additional money for the collection.
Is the Bourque rookie you have in your shop graded? I’m looking for one.
It was a really good collection and the Gretzky was very clean. Sorry, I don't have any graded cards at the moment.
Thanks for watching!
Just a rough guess but the Gretzky rookie looks about as nice as mine which I had graded with Beckett. Mine came back as a 7 so I would guess yours is somewhere between a 6 and a 8. Even raw that card is worth more than what you gave him for everything.
I really think having at least the main rookies graded would be well worth it. Not just value wise but to preserve their condition.
Great pick up. Any collector would love to have a vintage collection like that.
Being in the States, and with hockey being my favorite sport to collect, I missed out on so much, expanded sets, premiums galore. Back in the day, as kids, we had no idea that Topps was giving us half the set that O-Pee-Chee issued in Canada. That is 'painful', to say the least. My friend, you are blessed to walk into an offer like that! I wonder what that gentleman will have in the storage locker? Something to look forward to. Thanks.
It was a great collection. Next video coming in the next few days...stay tuned and thanks for watching!
My mom worked at a place where Oshawa generals had lunch meetings and got me a personally signed Jr A Eric Lindros card ( mom thought he was a wonderful young man) my wife threw it out thinking it was unimportant! I’m sure there are lots of sad hockey card stories out there
I've never seen so many off centered cards in a collection! But lad, when he asked for a 1K, you should have given him 2K. The Gretzky could/should be worth that nuch if not more. Yes, its off centered but in good condition. And you got all the other cards for free.
Actually, I've seen transactions in a FB group. The sellers are not getting the asking prices you see on eBay.
Exactly. Very different prices! Thanks for watching!
It's because the O PEE CHEE in all sports are NOTORIOUS for off centered cards that's especially why the HIGH grade are more valuable than TOPPS
Amazing collection
Definitely! Thanks for tuning in!
Bros thinking to himself I drove all this way for junk wax but atleast he met the worlds oldest parakeet
Very nice
You bet! Thanks for watching!
