Saw this band open for Courtney Barnett last night. They were amazing. Me girlfriend said they reminded her of an 80s band called Scrawl who still happen to be together. I look forward to hearing more from Chastity Belt as their audience gets bigger by the day. Awesome band I can't wait to see again. Cheers!!!
Joe Mitchell if you look on UA-cam, there’s a video where I think it’s called “what in your bag?” (Musicians scrawl Amoeba here in Hollywood for records) with Courtney Barnett and Kurt Veil, Courtney then gives him a Chastity Belt record! Yes! It is rad!
Loved how at the end, the shows host said, “Lydia you were rocking so hard, your headphones 🎧 fell off.” I agree! I was wondering how the others weren’t rocking out at all, especially the singer?! I LOVE this song and I rock out every time I hear it💃🏽🕴!
Lady on the Strat = Super Cutie Awe heck, lady on the drums too. ...ok fine all of them ladies. Seriously dig the music though, just bought their first album the other day and can't stop playing it 😎
Don't like the singer's voice? Hm. I loved it but once I heard the singer I was sold. Reminds me of Souxie's voice almost. I would love to see them play in person.
Candice Coia -- my gf and I call them Bikini Kill meets the Smiths with shades of Siouxie. I think she's got a lot of Morrissey, too. But yes, lotsa Siouxsie and I love me S and the Banshees!! Cheers!
@@joemitchell4368 I thought the same thing. They have a similar timbre to their voices. And I was also thinking she looked a bit like Chloe Sevigny here. Funny!
I know you're not a high energy band, but where was the energy at? Now I'm wondering if you always sound like this live or if this is just another example of bands being overly mellow when playing on kexp. The album version sounds so much better.
this session has one of the punchiest drum sounds ive ever heard. great job
prufesuroak snare drum is way too muted in comparison to high hat and cymbals. made the ending sound weak compared to studio version.

Really wanna catch these ladies live one day...
To me the best song of this live session, thank you girls

Very well crafted/executed song... Pleasant chord changes, nice chorus, loads of little touches, and that instrumental at the end is sweet.
Let's light everything on fire!
Headphones fall, still shredding!
My fav song of all time
This one just rolls, incredible melody
This is so good I just drifting to the ceiling twice
Love the original and third eye blind cover! Great job girls :)
The headphones falling off but she didn’t miss a beat ❤️❤️❤️👌

GREETINGS FROM PERU.

This song gives me a visceral reaction.
It's amazing! In love.
I LOVE THESE GUYS
I love you Chastity Belt
This band is amazing live, I had my doubts but they are another band that sounds so much better live than on record! I can’t wait to see them
What?! There is no way that sounded better than the album version.
If you like this song, then listen to 'To The East' by 'Electrelane'.
I especially like the chorus...and that they don't overuse it.
Fucking awesome
Music is amazing like always! But look at those walls!!!😍 are those tapestrys? What are they using for the walls??
Lady on the Strat = Super Cutie
Awe heck, lady on the drums too.
...ok fine all of them ladies.
Seriously dig the music though, just bought their first album the other day and can't stop playing it 😎

+Joe Mitchell morrissey would laugh at this chick
who fucking cares what morrissey thinks
Cloe Sevigny on vocals and Debra Harry on bass..
Daniel Ross McKinney I think the lead vocalist is very Sandra Berhardish...

That hook tho 😳
The section begining at the 4:21 mark, is Gretchen's favorite part.
Right, it sounds like a high school band where everyone's still learning how to play their instruments, but I like it.
I really like them, despite their chastity belts.
Josh was here
It's as if KEXP tells every visiting band to not rock out.
Are they under a noise ordinance?
I know you're not a high energy band, but where was the energy at?

Their homeliness serves as a chastity belt of sorts. That's probably what they're named for.
To be fair, I really like the instrumental, it's great, all of it, but I don't like the singer's voice, sorry.
The instrumental bit sounds almost just like their other song
Found the worst band name! I don't like the music either. Probably because of the name.
who are you talking to
you sound exactly like my dad.
