The poll, released just after voting ended, suggested that centre-left Labour leader Keir Starmer would be the next prime minister.

Labour leader Keir Starmer declared the country is ready for change as he addressed his own constituency of Holborn and St Pancras in London. In a brief speech, Starmer stopped short of declaring victory as prime minister, but said the country had voted for change. After his speech, Starmer shook hands with his local opponents including Nick the Incredible Flying Brick of the Monster Raving Loony Party and Bobby “Elmo” Smith, who came dressed in an Elmo costume.
