- Fly Fishing in September can bring some of the best sport the season has to offer. When the fishing conditions are right the top of the water sport can be second to none. Dry fly can be very often the order of the day. If you intend to go fishing this month then these five flies will certainly do a job for you.
Let me know which one was your favourite or if you think I have missed one of the list that would make your top five for fly fishing in September.
Thanks for tuning into the premier guys any more questions pop them into the comments and I will do my best to get back to you.
Welcome back to the tube. Look forward to a winter of fly tying
Inbound Paul👍
Thanks Lindsay
Welcome Joe.
Nice one Lindsay, the hopper is my favourite, must get some more just in case lol. Tight lines
Buy the pre-knotted legs they are quick to tie.
I don't tie anymore, they are dirt cheap to buy these days and my eyesight and fingers aren't what they used to be. Can I ask you about the CDC fly, you said Hunts original floatant how does that differ from High Up. I thought Gink was a no no on CDC, or is that different again to HighUp?
@@keithelliot3772 Up high is a treatment for floating flies I would not use it on CDC though. The powder dries out the CDC very quickly and I use this for most of my dry fly fishing.
Hi Lindsay I have a question for what is the rib on your cormorant fly thanks
Hi Rob there will be a video out tomorrow evening. The rib is mirage over red.
This guy sounds like Sean Connery tying flies
🤣🤣🤣
Great video. You don’t see a lot of fly videos with this good of fishing tips.
Thanks I am glad you enjoyed it.
Welcome back. Streams are opening here, Victoria, this weekend. Can you do 5 early season stream patterns?
I have a full schedule for Sept but will try and do something in Oct.
hope you had a pleasant break Lindsay and i look forward to more of your fly tying videos
Great to have a break John but keen to start making new content 👍
Good to have you back 👌
Hey, thanks
Great to see you again lindsay. A few good flys I will need to tie this month. Unfortunately my local water has been closed recently due to high water temp. But also preparing to rake out weed and bloom with winch and tractor.so it will be closed to end of this month. I am hopeful to get out in October.
Hope its back open sooner than later Malcolm.
Outstanding work again lindsay
Thanks pal, hope you are keeping well 👍
Nice to see you back Lindsay.....great selection. 👍
Cheers pal
Great fly selection.
👍
Thanks Lindsay, welcome back, stay well, Big Davie.
Cheers Davie, hope you are well pal.
Welcome back, Lindsay. Looking forward to the new content.
Got a few bits already to go and plans for new stuff coming soon.
I'm big on terrestrial season as I've said before and a touch of red. Here in Massachusetts we have some drought conditions in many places with fall stocking just around the corner. Really a challenge right now. Take care Lindsay look forward to your posts.
Thanks Frank, will be in the States towards the end of the month. Really looking forward to it.
Hi Lindsay, Great to see your channel and videos are back. Thanks for the tips and patterns ready for the end of summer and through into autumn. Best regards, Wayne 👍
Thanks Wayne, more to come 😉

Cheers buddy.
Great to see you back lindsay missed ya looking forward to more great videos
Thanks pal, plenty to come.
Great to see you back! Hope your summer was great and relaxing Lyndsey!
Thank you! You too!
Great to see you are back to making videos. Wondering when using flotation on CDC do you use liquid or powder? Thanks for sharing your talents 👍
Hi Pal, I only ever use the powder on CDC.
I use that powder shake on CDC flies works great
Great selection, the hopper looks a great choice, what about a foam daddy on the point with the hopper as a dropper? Fluocarbon of copolymer for each of your choices? Off to Rutland and Eyebrook in a couple of weeks so will give them a go.
I am up to Rutland soon, the hopper will definitely get a swim. Fluro all the way Mike. The orange foam daddy is a must.
Great flies Lindsay. Do you ever use snow shoe hare instead of cdc?
Foam daddies👍
Great fly Jim, I like the orange ones.
@@lindsayiflyfish such a diverse pattern. Yellow does well early in the year. BLACK for when the hawthorne flies are out. BLUE dor the damsels. Orange and Tan for the tail end.
September and October are my two favorite months. I don't use too many dries, just a couple of good dry patterns, one of which is a grasshopper, the other a generic #12 to #13 Elkhair Caddis with rubber legs and or a UK pattern I have forgotten the name of! Geez!! Under that a Copper John or almost any good nymph #16 or #18. I probably catch most of my fish on this setup. Our September can start with snow flying or mankini weather! You don't want to be there for that! 😱😂
Hi Kerry, I hope you are in good health and manage to get out for a few sessions in the coming months.
