Awesome place. I would go there at least once every two months for a hike in the mountains. Stay overnight in the mountains and take the boat back to the car.

I’m very sorry for saying this but please don’t take it personaly, learn from it:
- wrong music choice for a nature video
- 17 minutes the same music?
- Please try to take images of the lake flat / straight horizontal! Some photos are like 10 degrees to one side 😅 or edit them correctly in post. This is beginner knowledge! Plezse pay attention, this place deserves better 😢.

I had a question what is the last boat time from Salet to Königsee?
do we have to buy separate tickets from each station if we get off at Salet and st Bartholoma or would the return ticket hold good for the entire journey?
If starting from Salzburg, is it possible to cover both konigssee, Rothbach, and Eagle's nest on the same day?
It is possible but wouldn’t recommend it, as it would be mostly a blink and miss experience.

How to go from Munchen to Konigssee, by bus or train

Thanks for your comment. We did a day trip from Munich.
To get there
1. Take train from Munich (RE5) towards Salzburg, get down at Freilassing
2. Take local train (S4) to Berchtesgaden railway station
3. Take bus 841 (just outside the Berchtesgaden railway station) to Konigssee
Total journey takes close to 3 hrs, so better to start early.
By car on the Autobahn Nr. 8 to direction Salzburg. Take last exist before the Austrian boarder. Drive to city Berchtesgaden / Koenigsee. Or train from Munich to Salzburg. Leave the train in Freilassing and take the regional train to Berchtesgaden. Take city bus or Taxi from Berchtesgaden to Koenigsee.

During peak season, better to purchase online in advance as the tickets get sold out quickly.

Eibsee and Zugspitze possible to visit in one day as they are nearby. For Konigssee you need separate day.

You can get ticket onsite, but you can buy ticket online as well from www.seenschifffahrt.de/en/koenigssee/online-tickets/
Digital photography is terribly over saturating colors looking like a running paint box. iphone sucks, it does it without asking you. Analog film photography was way superior. Also bad music.
