  • Mapping Pakistan’s Security: Past, Present and Future | CSS Current Affairs | Ep 32 | Ahmed Ali Naqvi | WTI
At the eve of defense day, one has to look back on security landscape since Pakistan’s inception.
    • Pakistan’s creation is primarily attributed to insecurity that some Muslim leaders felt first from Britain and later from Hindu dominated India.
    • This insecurity was not just physical but also security of their economic, social and belief system as minority.
    • The opposition to creation of Pakistan and force with which this opposition was expressed in India especially at the eve of partition increased the insecurity that new state felt.
    • But four internal challenges also surfaced within Pakistan that were feared to be exploited by India: Pushtunistan issue, Baloch insurgency, geographical dilemma between East and west wings and internal economic crisis.
    • Pakistani state was considered too weak to cope with these challenges necessitating Pakistan’s approach to global actors (US) during cold war and it worked largely for Pakistan. However, this had an unintended consequence: Rise of another threat i-e Soviet Union.
    • However, the fears and insecurity turned into reality in 1965 and with 1971 separation of East Pakistan.
    • Added insecurity was Indian Nuclear Program in 1970s.
    • Soviet threat was intensified in 1980s.
    • However with the end of Global Order in 1990s, Pakistan’s primary insecurity was from Indian threats in the East and civil war in Afghanistan in the west. Coupled with that was Pakistan’s economic woes.
    • Post 9/11, the threats to Pakistan became more complex and profound: Largely due to two factors: Growing power and clout of Arch rival India which has yet to completely accept the 1947 partition and secondly, growing internal weaknesses: Economic challenges, national integration challenges and sharpening political divide.
So to conclude, it is important to remember the bravery and courage of the nation in wars with India, we must acknowledge that world and especially our internal and external dynamics have changed drastically. Are we equipped to confront these new challenges that are far more complex and threatening than the ones we faced historically?

If Indians think that Pakistan will not survive, than they are right, Pakistan is not surviving, now its clear.
Pakistan F. Policy, National interest, economy, Social system, Political System etc are not in Pakistan's control. They are being controlled by some where else and you people are know the best, who controls the Pakistan. The answer is the different dealings between America and Britain in back 1944-45, based on Pakistan.

Can u tell why jinnah left 1/3 muslims in india when he said that two cannot live together. Muslims should be more progressing in pakistan??

    • @hussainabbas2024
      @hussainabbas2024 Рік тому +2

Idea of Pakistan wasn't based on combing out every Muslim. It was rather more about carving out a state for Islam where feasible. In this context every indian Muslim had an option to migrate to Pakistan and the state would take care of rehabilitating them but at the same time couldn't force anyone to migrate to Pakistan.

@@hussainabbas2024 than can u explain how non muslims which were 23 % i west Pakistan in 1951 are now less than 5 %.on other hand population of muslims has increased from 10 % in 1951 to 13 % now in india.

@@manjitsingh7681 Firstly, I am sure you took these figures from the Indian media and you know how correct they are. Secondly, Hindus live in peace in Pakistan except in a small part in interior Sindh where they are forcefully converted.

My figures are based on national archives of india which are methodically preserved. If Pakistan wants to progress first it has agree with symptoms ailing it ; three things i can tell u 1. Land reforms which were never carried out ( in india it was carried out in 1950, if u own more than 15 acres of irrigated land it can be confiscated which is above 15 acres) 2. Institutions were never build up. Like election commission, independent judiciary
      3. In politicle spectrum Left oriented parties are missing , why their is no Communist Party of Pakistan , when you are so close to china.
You are learned man let us discuss all these Things it will enhance my knowledge also
