Our weather has been so up and down it’s hard to plan anything. This driveway build is tough because it’s on a steel hill and with the warm weather and rain it so soft!
I think that if your lucky enough to have got this far with a lot of hard work, someday you will look back and know you did your best and your best was good enough.
I wish you could have had the type of gravel you wanted..for that job ..but you'll have it finished off and looking great by the time your done....you sure had a beautiful sunny day!!! Looking forward to seeing the finished project!!
You are pretty good on the gear young man, I see that the rain sure can be a pain in the butt on your business and or progress on a job, once again thanks for the upload and wishing you continued success on your upcoming endeavors, such beautiful countryside and opportunity for young entrepreneurs such as yourself to prosper.
It's amazing how you spread out those big rocks to get the road looking so smooth. I'm guessing you've done this once or twice before. 😉👍 Actually I don't have to guess, I've seen you do it before.
With fuel costs ever increasing these back and fore extended drives to the quarry and offload waste must be painful if not able to price into the job. It will also be interesting to see how industry is able to move from diesel to electric or hydrogen in these more isolated working environments and at what cost to brilliant businesses like yourselves.
That gabion rock looks like some nice stuff, we use 4 inch minus from a local contractor that makes only 4 inch, its 450 dollars for a tandem load, its a good 14-15 tonne. The driveway you're building has some grade to it. I bet its going to take some fines and rock when they start running building supply and ready mix trucks over it just the way it goes. Its the Tradies that destroy driveways spinning the hell out their tires throwing dirt and rocks. Ya some of them have 2 wheel drive vans, sprinters and 1 ton cube vans, some have 4 wheel drive pickups but they spin their way out in 2wd. The electricians are the worst they want to be right at the front door they are always in the way when you are working on site doing backfill etc. The old Sterlings will crawl out of some nasty spots, not easy when you're working by yourself trying to push the gravel truck out with the hoe. Always the damn it moments your crawling out with the dump truck then you get the spin and bounce back up try it again then its damn it I'm stuck LOL.
There is a young Vietnam farmer who needs to know the worth of putting boulders, rocks and stones in the "pond" he is making, just like you are making a "hard bottom" on your land. For him it would also make hoes for the shrimp, crabs and small fish he wants to add. My thought is they will help clear the water by settling the mud. Oh, he needs your words of wisdom. (Dau, of Forest Life). Thanks for listening.
Are you sure the Commercial Vehicle Compliance Officer at 24:04 isn’t scoping you out cruising around in that Tandem with a PEI inspection sticker still in the window?? Haha hope you’re right and he just happens to live down that road you are working on. Also noticed the gauge on the left of the tachometer swinging around a lot when you are driving and a red light on when it drops below the operating range. Looks like batt voltage maybe? Alternator could be charging a bit wildly?
How do you like the Sany so far? Been about a year now yeah? Would you buy it again? Been looking at a 60 but the closest dealer is 3hrs from me but the price point beats anyone else and they actually have them in stock!
I just bought a piece of land where there is a 14% grade or maybe more of bedrock (Doing to me sure it in 2 week with precision GPS device). I have no idea what to do with that at the moment... Dirt does hold rock pretty well... But that bedrock is pretty slippery. It currently have big layer of rock also which look like steps at certain spots.
Question how much does it usually cost to fill in dirt for a driveway? It’s a steep 20’ or so drop off so I’m looking to create a driveway about 50-75 feet long.
What is your thoughts on the sany sy80 vs the sy95. I have the option to get a 95 for a good price but love the idea of the zero tail swing. Being you have both what is your thoughts. I have a sy35 I love so looking to stick with the sany.
@@workplaytv I’m gonna try to talk with a country accent when I call in my order. And take the Florida tags off my truck. Last time they tried to double charge me to drill a well. Lol
What is the gvwr of your trailers And does the hydraulic dovetail on the diamond c make it a lot easier to load and unload sorry to keep bothering you I do appreciate your responses
Not every male but every man would like to do this kind of work and live this kind of lifestyle 😉
So very well said!

I love these videos. So satisfying to watch you using your skills! The backdrop of the Canadian wilderness is a total joy to see as well.
Nice work on difficult terrain. The dump truck earns its keep yet again!
I've built so many kms of woods road..rock is your friend. The good old days. Great content.
So enjoy seeing your work come together.
You made quick work of that pile of stone. Another great video. Thanks for sharing✌️❤️🇺🇸
That’ll be a interesting driveway to pull out of in the snow! Beauty spot though!
Not as bad as the ones next to this one lol
Amazing job Tyson and crew!! The whole family watched this one… lol

Lucky the quarry and put are only 10 mins away from this job
That “to be continued” before we find out if there is another curve in the road 🤔

hard to find a straight mile in NS, there is a few but only since they twinned the 104.
Good video so far brother
Great job you're doing but I've never seen gravel spread the way you did it. It looks very nice but I've just never seen it spread that way
Ok? How have you seen it spread?

Yeah it’s acting up. He actually does live on the road
Thank you
Good work, youtube

Was wondering why you didn't put down a roll of geotech before dumping your rock so it dont sink as much
The geo wouldn’t do much in this case. The rock would just rip through
How do you like the Sany so far? Been about a year now yeah? Would you buy it again? Been looking at a 60 but the closest dealer is 3hrs from me but the price point beats anyone else and they actually have them in stock!
That's a nice job
I’m from Oregon, so we have different terms for rock… What is the material that you call “surge”? Is it like a 4”-0?
No it’s like 6-8 with some fines
You make it look easy but I know better from the skidstear experience I have

Just a off topic question. Where you are in NS are you able to get DEF at the pump or are you buying boxes for your fleet? Just curious. Thank You
Where you going with those grubbin’s , SCHENECTADY NY?❤😂
You do alot of work! Is it cold there?
Marie From USA
It hasn’t been but it will be this week
How much do they charge you for a truckload of that big rock? Thanks in advance
Very good work ! But what a pity, you have a chinese excavator ! You should use an US !😉
Lots of made in china parts on those and twice the price
@@workplaytv you are right ! All the parts of the machines should be made on the spot !

It’s a steep 20’ or so drop off so I’m looking to create a driveway about 50-75 feet long.
This episode reminds me of the Rocky Horror Show. Good pun huh?? HA! HA!
26:29. What’s going on with the amp gauge?
Something I need to get looked at
So what was the percent of slope of that driveway?

What’s type 2. Thanks for the video
It’s like 1-2” with fines in it. They charge by the tonne.

Do you ever come across any animals while you're in these far away places?
From time to time
Great vid. What is the steepest you recommend for a driveway?
Have never owned a hitachi so I can’t really compare but I know the sany is still not affordable
How about a 345 review?
You bet
Sany or Hitachi? quality and economics considered?
Appalachians? Nova Scotia? 😂 same thing
Lol
Dear Tyrone,
Love work,and, trucks,

how steep is the slope on this driveway???
I see you using several different trailers, what is your favorite one to haul your sy95 ? brand, length etc. thanks for your response
My diamond c and ktrail both haul really nice. They are 35 and 30 feet
What is the gvwr of your trailers
And does the hydraulic dovetail on the diamond c make it a lot easier to load and unload sorry to keep bothering you I do appreciate your responses
Hoe much was this job ?
well I can say I've ridden in a dumper now lol
Why no fiber mat down first?
We don’t usually put mat down here. Especially on these type of jobs building roads in the woods.
no road fabric up there or is that not used alot there?
It’s not used much here
It's probably just the camera angle but that road looks awfully narrow for your big dump truck.
5 feet in each side of the truck atleast
walking walking walking...
Other parts of the world, low-low is called donkey-gear.
