If I had the ability to draw, I would imagine nightmare Fluttershy as a witch who is similar to the witch from Hansel and Gretal. Instead of eating anyone, she lures animals into her cottage and uses her abilities to trap them so they can never leave her. In my story about her, I think she would be the only pony involved. She's cut everyone else off to pursue her goal and has become a recluse. She's also moved much deeper into a forest, so no one can find her

With the nightmare-ified ponies, if I were to do them, I think I'd go the route of having them completely turn on their elements. I feel like this works very well with your Apple Hijack, with her element being honesty and turning to a life of crime. This could also work pretty well with Rainbow and her maybe turning away from others and only depending on herself, or wanting others loyalty, but never giving them her own. I feel Pinkie could also work, given her nightmare. Like, not being able to make others laugh and only being laughed at, I feel she could turn around to hating laughter (like in the discord 2 parter) Anyways, love your work and your ideas give me TONS of inspiration!!

Pinkamena has to genuinely snap from a psychotic break to go down the straight-hair despair-filled route, which isn't the same as being twisted by nightmare forces. Discord made them opposites and Nightmare Forces would definitely make Pinkie take the laughter thing too far because that's what they do. They made Luna take her love of the night way too far, etc. Cupcakes definitely didn't do it right, but Pinkamena just snapping is a very scary concept, no magic required, and it wouldn't feel the same if magically induced so I'm glad you didn't go down that route for this.
