    Really enjoyed this. We lost my wife's beloved Shitzu last year. I made her casket. My wife and our kids painted it. I think making while grieving is a very healing process. Thanks for sharing.

    Nice Memorial piece. Could you share what you are doing there at 3:54- are you just carefully wiping off the (?acrylic) paint with a cloth then a brush? I have been trying to do lettering in a similar way but it keeps smudging. Many thanks!

    • @RedSmithWorkshop
      @RedSmithWorkshop  6 років тому +1

      Thank you very much. At 3:54, I'm putting a second coat of leather varnish. One before doing the lettering, and one after to fix the color and protect it from dust and dirt. I hope it helps. Thanks a lot for watching.

    • @RedSmithWorkshop

  • @matthewfriesch6316

    Besides the dye, what are you coating the collar with and in what order? What purpose does every coat have?

    • @RedSmithWorkshop
      @RedSmithWorkshop  6 років тому

      Leather oil/conditionner, and leather varnish, in that order. Oil unify the dye and hydrate the leather, varnish protects it.
