This episode was amazing. As someone who read this in the manga a long time ago and couldn't wait to see this finally animated I could not stop smiling throughout this entire episode. Absolutely awesome stuff and bones did an excellent job adapting these scenes.

Two years ago when MHA manga chapter-290 "Dabi's Dance" came out, manga fans went crazy like hell yo! "Dabi's Dance" even out-trended 2020 US Presidential Election on Twitter and Internet in general back then and this just proves how damn popular Dabi or "Dabi's Dance" was and still is. It's still considered one of the greatest moments/revelations in the MHA series. We manga fans always knew Dabi is Touya Todoroki and seeing this get revealed made us manga fans feel relieved and validated. Back then everyone was like - "Fuck Donald Trump and Joe Biden! Dabi for the 2020 President, bitches!"
AFO: No! Tomura, you must retreat! Tomura: I didn't hear no bell Little side note, in the manga, Toga never explains the big thing about Jin. Which is why Ochako is so confused. Because she's not exactly sure why she's talking to her. But she instantly regrets shutting her down once she sees that she was crying. And it pushes her to question why Toga was upset. Which is why the anime having Toga mention her reason for being upset last episode kinda takes away from Ochako's confusion and trying to understand Toga. Toga does love Ochako the same way she loves Stain and Izuku. So essentially, one of her crushes didn't get what she was trying to convey. Which has to suck. When this reveal happened in the manga, it actually out trended the literal US election. Dabi is built different. Also, it's really funny how Shigaraki gave that speech a few episodes ago about how heroes will destroy their families and Endeavor completely ignored him. Only for one of the biggest examples of him being selfish and destroying his own family to appear. Endeavor is trying to improve, yes. But that doesn't mean his past actions just go away. He added fuel to that poor boy's flames and then tossed him aside once he realized he wasn't the perfect child he wanted to create. And now, Touya will reduce everything to ash.
I thought so to but they were actualyl clever coz nobody from that groups knows Twice´s real name. So when Toga says Jin that is just a random name for Ochaco.

After all they did get most of the League members' real names as shown in the Kamino raid though, I like to think they didn't inform about the villains' details to the children which allowed for this moment to still happen without Ochako being changed from her Manga counterpart.

I was waiting for this for sooo long! Hiro Shimono (Toya - I can finally use that name somewhere, lol) and Kaji Yuki nailed it. Kaji has maybe just little outbrust with Shoto but it still was impactful.
Sobering that I think the community doesn’t always pick up on us that Endeavor and Rei love each other. I’m Enji’s flashback he said Rei wanted more kids because siblings can support each other. While Toys is telling everybody that he forced her to have his kids.
Also, back in season 5 Rei mentioned that Endeavor always sent her a specific kind of flower because she mentioned that she liked it once on one of their 1st dates. It's true that Endeavor wanted half-cold/half-hot but their marriage actually has some love there

As a manga reader who read this long ago... I wasn't surprised at the reveal as there were clues all along from Season 2 though settled. But the execution was more than I expected and the anime nailed it.
The chapter for this one is released in November 2020, and it is more trending than the US elections that time. It speak volumes to how the reveal means to everyone waiting for the confirmation of the fan theories that time.
I understand where Dabi is coming from with having been breed and unable to fulfil his purpose, but becoming a murderer is never the answer. Those deaths are only a reflection on him. Endeavor never raised him that way.
Same here. You can only play the blame game to a certain extent. Yes, I do believe it's Endeavor's fault Dabi/Toya became an arrogant jerk, but he became a killer because he wanted to, not because it was engrained into him. He claims he wants to carry out Stain's will, but even Stain was discriminatory with his kills and didn't slaughter innocent civilians.
I mean I can't blame him, with the trauma of being burnt alive and thrown on the street as a kid, with all the grooming he went through, I can't imagine what it had to be like. Obviously killing is not the answer but considering his circumstances it's so easy to say vs. of all the horrible stuff that actually happened to him. 'cause let's not forget he's still only 24, so to have done through that much abuse in such a short time, it has to have taken a toll on his mental health. I don't know how I'd myself behave with staples holding my body together and face from falling off, no doubt being in constant pain, while society looks up to the man that caused it all, knowing my younger siblings and mom are still abused at his hands, trying to survive on the street half dead...I don't even want to imagine what he had to do to survive. I can't judge him, and I can't dismiss Endeavour's implication in all this.

I don't think Dabi was a great person to begin with (not necessarily a really bad human but more along the lines of maybe being a bit colder in terms of emotion). But you take that and amp it up many times over with exposure to abuse and/or neglect, suffering from severe physical pain from your own quirk, and being pushed aside and forced to watch someone else become the favored child prodigy, and you end up with something like Dabi. His father was a jealous, power-hungry piece of crap. He probably felt like Rei didn't do enough to protect him. Shoto obviously became the prized creation. I can see why he'd feel a lot of resentment towards them but why would you want to kill the two siblings who were there for you and were also victims?

I'm a manga reader and honestly I had NO CLUE! When this reveal was done in the manga I had to stop reading and take a break because of how stunned I was.
This reveal was fantastic for the plot. But as a manga reader me myself and a lot of other felt like it came at a time where it was so obvious, before it happened we were like "when will it happen?" And when it finally happened we were like "Oh, it happened" They hold onto this reveal for so long I actually thought they were going to make a double or triple plot twist and burn a fire under everyone's seat. But that didn't happen. That said, I believe this is the best episode so far this season.
What I really like about the reveal tho is that sure, we pretty much already knew it at that point, but to have both shoto and endeavour's reaction at the same time in the middle of this huge battle, feels amazing. Especially followed by the reveal of Best Jeanist still being alive and appearing out of nowhere. It all feels sooo much more impactful imo
the most obvious revelation ever. in the 5th season they practically slam him in your face and even one of the theme songs of the 4th season you can see him crying in front of the family photo
This bombshell was so well orchestrated! The anime excelled for sure! But none of us cared for that pink-hard boy's reaction, right? I wanted to hear more dialogue from the Todoroki family.

I feel so bad for Endeavour. He loved his wife and wasn't trying to hurt his family. Yes, what he did wasn't good by any means, especially for a hero, but I do blame his wife more. She's the one who threw the boiling water on Shoto, and she shouldn't have tried to get physical with someone like Endeavor in those heated situations. She should have reached out to Almight to talk some sense into him where there wouldn't have been as much risk.
I don't even get why people feel more sorry for Endeavor than for Shoto, when Shoto is literally the one whose trauma was used againts him and aired to the whole Japan without his permission, who has been trying to build his own name and separate himself from the title "Endeavor's son," who was trying his best to not break down and protect his friends from Dabi. Endeavor's pain is nothing compared to Shouto's. Dabi disclosed Endeavor's abuse to let people realize how corrupt the hero society is and not every hero is an actual hero. It served him right.

That's a fanon twist. He withdrew ATTENTION from Touya, in a (albeit a bit misguided) attempt to stop him from self-harming. He never directly did harm to Touya--never said anything hurtful besides "please find another passion this one isn't safe for you", which was actually fairly responsible of him as a parent. Literally everyone in the family BUT Touya has a stronger claim of abuse. Rei and Shouto were victims of violence and Natsuo and Fuyumi were neglected. Touya was... let down that he couldn't pursue a path that would kill him, by parents who didn't have the sense to get him therapy. Quit it with the screwy narrative.

This reveal was fantastic for the plot. But as a manga reader me myself and a lot of other felt like it came at a time where it was so obvious, before it happened we were like "when will it happen?" And when it finally happened we were like "Oh, it happened"
They hold onto this reveal for so long I actually thought they were going to make a double or triple plot twist and burn a fire under everyone's seat. But that didn't happen. That said, I believe this is the best episode so far this season.
What I really like about the reveal tho is that sure, we pretty much already knew it at that point, but to have both shoto and endeavour's reaction at the same time in the middle of this huge battle, feels amazing. Especially followed by the reveal of Best Jeanist still being alive and appearing out of nowhere. It all feels sooo much more impactful imo

Yes, what he did wasn't good by any means, especially for a hero, but I do blame his wife more. She's the one who threw the boiling water on Shoto, and she shouldn't have tried to get physical with someone like Endeavor in those heated situations. She should have reached out to Almight to talk some sense into him where there wouldn't have been as much risk.

I don't even get why people feel more sorry for Endeavor than for Shoto, when Shoto is literally the one whose trauma was used againts him and aired to the whole Japan without his permission, who has been trying to build his own name and separate himself from the title "Endeavor's son," who was trying his best to not break down and protect his friends from Dabi. Endeavor's pain is nothing compared to Shouto's. Dabi disclosed Endeavor's abuse to let people realize how corrupt the hero society is and not every hero is an actual hero. It served him right.

That's a fanon twist. He withdrew ATTENTION from Touya, in a (albeit a bit misguided) attempt to stop him from self-harming. He never directly did harm to Touya--never said anything hurtful besides "please find another passion this one isn't safe for you", which was actually fairly responsible of him as a parent. Literally everyone in the family BUT Touya has a stronger claim of abuse. Rei and Shouto were victims of violence and Natsuo and Fuyumi were neglected. Touya was... let down that he couldn't pursue a path that would kill him, by parents who didn't have the sense to get him therapy. Quit it with the screwy narrative.
