Disney never "abandoned" The Lion Guard. The show was always planned to have 3 seasons from the get-go, according to both Ford Riley and sources that reveal how Season 3 was comissioned before Season 1 even ended. People like to pretend that Disney "cancelled" the series and how fan-petitions and contacting the showrunners can somehow "bring it back" but that ignores how Disney shows, especially Disney Jr. shows at the time only had 3-4 season limits, as well as the fact that the Internet is a very loud minority. If you look at the views for the series, they had gone drastically down due to Disney promoting the show more online than on television, which caused reruns of the show to be pulled 5 weeks after the last episode aired. A large fan-response isn't going to do much. People need to accept that shows can't go on forever, they all have to come to an end eventually, which is why it bugs me to no end seeing several people pass around the lie that the show was "cancelled," denying the fact that it's over based on very flimsy excuses, or harassing writers of the show to renew the series for a fourth season whilst encouraging young impressionable others to do the same. It reeks of general lack of information. Whilst I don't doubt that Disney might acknowledge the Lion Guard in some major capacity, such as a tribute to next year's decennial, there's no chance that they'd bring the show back, whether it's for a fourth season or a new series, after 5 years. And personally, I think it's for the better. Season 3 of The Lion Guard really sucked in my eyes and served as a poor conclusion to the story (the final episode being the worst of the show because of how bad of an ending it was). If the show was always planned to end like this, then I'm only glad that it _ended_ there instead of turning out like Bunk'd did and getting worse with each new season it gets.
@allegrokater Several shows do come to an end. Shows or franchises that go on for extended periods of time, especially after a moment they were supposed to end will always have risk of going worse, or having outright seasonal rot (either temporarily or permanently) Some good examples being Famoly Guy, The Simpsons, Home Alone, Fairly OddParents, or in the case of Disney, Bunk'd. I'd rather The Lion Guard end naturally at 3 seasons than for it to get milked later on.
@@PeaPea_Edits I forgot about those in honesty lmao. But PJ Masks and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse were more episodic shows whilst The Lion Guard was serialized, so of course they would go on longer whilst The Lion Guard would have a clear beginning, middle, and end.

One loose end didn't get tied up. Rafiki was training Makini to be his successor. She was supposed to take over when he eventually dies, but she went off to serve King Kion and Queen Rani. So Kiara and Kovu are still left without a shaman if Rafiki dies.
I doubt Rafiki will ever die. In the original franchise, he was around for at least three generations of the royal Family. In the old comics(old canon) he looked old even when he only met young Mufasa. Nothing can kill this old man I've even heard somewhere in my(Russian) fandom, that Rafiki is some kind of prophet of circle of Life, or it's son, aka the circle of life version of jesus, or straight up the embodiment of circle of life
That's what I really disliked about Season 3. It ignores a lot of what Seasons 1-2 built up. Makini forming a bond with Kiara during the Scar arc and eventually returning home to become Kiara's royal Mjuzi would've been a great way to cap off her character arc.
I personally did not like that plot twist, nor did I think that it was foreshadowed well. Ushari constantly getting trapped over by the Guard in missions serves as good foreshadowing because it gives Ushari a motivation for being evil. And since it worked well, the writers tried to do the same thing for Makini. But having her lose her staff as a running gag doesn’t make sense, because not once does it indicate that Makini should be somewhere else. Makini never once objects to being Royal Mjuzi for the Pride Lands. Makini staying at the Tree of life never made sense to me.

@@Simbala-bq5vy In the original series Ushari dies at the beginning of the third season, in my rewrite Ushari is a villain who in the first season acts in the shadows, while in the second he becomes the main villain, further expanding his story and motivations (In my version Ushari gained a lot of respect and power thanks to Scar's reign, a power that he saw taken away by the return of Simba who defeated Scar and took back his place as king, Despite despising Simba, Ushari continued to work as a councilor at Pride Rock, yet he continued to be shunned and despised by the Pride Lands community, who generally avoided him, laughed at him behind his back or became a victim of constant humiliation, despite trying to find his place in the circle of life, but no one ever gave him a occasion. Ushari's heart filled with anger and hatred towards the Pride Lands vowing that he would never suffer again, vowing that the Pride Lands and its inhabitants will suffer as he has suffered, hitting them where it hurts most, during the dry season, leading him to become the mastermind of some of the Outlanders' plans and the main person responsible for Scar's return, with whom he plots the total destruction of the Pride Lands . His betrayal will be much more evident here, because he will be the one to almost kill Simba and force the guard to find the cure for his poison in Outlands throwing away the mask and his true intentions. And like Zira, he is also a fanatic of Scar, which will lead him to become his most devoted follower after Zira in his new army of Outlanders). honestly, I think we can all agree that a lion Gard season 4 would be better than the new live action Mufasa movie (that is definitely going to be overshadowed by sonic movie 3). Hopefully if Disney ever dose a lion Gard season 4, they can see that they don't have to keep doing live action all the time since live action looks ''more mature'' than animation and see that you can still be mature and not have to do live action all the time.
I would honestly like to see a third Lion King show that either is about Simba's childhood life during living with Timon and Pumbaa or could be about Simba's missing third cub, Kopa.
@@Jurassicgalaxy1245 Well, I thought that Disney would one day make Kopa a official canon character if they were to do a third Lion King show about him as well as it bringing up the major reveal on why he wasn't seen in The Lion King II or The Lion Guard.
I never really watched the Lion Guard so can’t comment on a new series really as dunno about plots and all that. With the new CGI era of TLK, you can argue that there’s three different universes: 1 - LK 1 & LK 2 2 - GCI 3 - the spin-offs such as LG and that Timon & Pumba TV show. With that said, it’s gonna be somewhat easy for Disney to brush TLG and it’s characters under the carpet and simply phase them out, and even easier now the show isn’t running. I for one though can see a way they can include Kion into a LK2 GCI re-make and that’s simply but having his as some sort of recurring side character. What I mean by that is we see him born and when he returns back from missions here and there or/and when another character mentions he, for example there could be a scene where Kovu and Kiara are getting to know each other a bit more as adults and she says something like “I have a younger brother who’s currently off doing (bla bla bla)”. Then later one we whether in TLK2 or another movie have a little moment within a scene where for example, Zazu turns up to tell Simba Kion has arrived at the Tree of Life safely. Just little nods to him perhaps which could then allow those who’s curious about this Kion character to go watch the Lion Guard. Sadly, I think it’s more likely they are just trying to fade the show and characters out. One evident to this is the fact Kion isn’t in the Mufasa movie. The movie is about Rafiki telling the story to Kiara and I get it as in TLK2, she has trouble working out who she is other than a future queen (a role she doesn’t want) and so having Rafiki try and explain the history of her family and her purpose makes a lot of sense. But still, I think if Disney really wanted to, they could make Kiara a little older (IMO she looks younger than what Simba was in TLK1) and have Kion there even again as a background character being baby sit by Timon and Pumba whilst Simba and Nala are busy. Equally, they could include him at the very end… Simba could come and collect Kiara and have a little Kion with him 😅
How you mentioned the Lion King getting a new spinoff show made me think that the Creators of the Lion King, and Lion Guard could do a sequel Lion King Series called the Lion King called a Different Animal Generation.
I was Christmas shopping today and ran across a mom struggling to find the right present for her son (What's the difference between "avengers" and "marvel"?) But one of the things he wanted most were Lion Guard toys, because he watches Lion Guard on D+ a lot. So it still hits - IF people find it and watch it. But most Disney shows - indeed, most kid's shows - have a three-to-four-year life span. Hanna Montana and Wizards of Waverly Place and Phineas & Ferb all got four seasons (of course, they were made back in the day when you wanted to get a show to 100 episodes so you could farm it for syndication. Disney expects the initial audience to "age out" in three to five years - and any follow up audience the show finds in re-runs (or streaming, now that that's a thing) is just icing on the cake. Though there are exceptions to this pattern like Arthur or Paw Patrol that keep gaining NEW audience as the older audiences age out, they are EXCEPTIONS. The three-to-four year wave pattern has been pretty consistent going back to the 80s: Transformers, GI Joe, He-man, Thundercats, even Ninja Turtles all hit for about three years. Batman TAS (three seasons), Sonic X (three seasons), Yugioh (five seasons), even Scooby Doo Where Are You (three seasons) - and for those years sustained a huge levels of ratings and toy and merch sales (where the franchise really made its money). Then those initial audiences found other things they'd rather spend their time watching and other toys they would ask for at Christmas (often because they hit age 13 and girls became a far more central concern than action figures). Transformers would reinvent themselves with Beast Wars and Energon and Prime (etc.) but each of these would be waves of popularity that would last two years and then fade or fizzle in the third and fourth. Most of the shows that don't fit this pattern aren't the shows like Aurthur that keep going and going - they're the one season shows like Orbots or Pirates of Darkwater or Spiral Zone that never struck ratings gold (or, more likely, toy sales projections) But then, there are supposed to be two more seasons of Phineas and Ferb in development right now - so, it just might be possible for a new Lion Guard. Though instead of continuing the story (something Disney seems elementally incapable of doing these days) it would probably be a prequel to follow up the Mufasa movie.
All I’ve wanted from this series since I was a little kid was to see an adult Kion. I feel like even if they didn’t do a season 4, at the very least I’d love to see a movie or spinoff series with them all grown up.
I absolutely love this show especially Mickey Mouse clubhouse, Sofia the First and the imagination movers and Johnny and the sprites and Stanley and my friend Tigger and Pooh and the other Pooh shows and Jake and the never land pirates. I wish those shows would come back someday.
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse?? Sofia the First?? Tigger and Pooh?? Jake and the never land pirates?? DAMN, I remember watching those throughout my early childhood. Absolute classics, *"Good times!" - Sonic, from the Sonic The Hedgehog (2020) Movie.*
Lion guard was my favorite childhood show ever and only like a year and a half ago I didn't remember anything about it but then I found a UA-cam short that was an edit of kion and my memory went crazy and I remember everything of the show and I started watching it again around a year ago but a few months later I lost access to Disney plus 💀 but it I had not had the song "mamas boy" in my shorts fees I would have never found that short so ya crazy how things became and that edit was from a UA-cam channel named King kion leader official And that dude makes great edits and if it was not for that short that one single short I would never had this show as my favorite of all time because I remember now that, the lion guard was my favorite childhood show and I hope it makes a comeback but anyways you are a goat so keep up this great content! Man I'm getting emotional for a show about a lion with wind powers at 15 💀💀💀💀💀💀
It actually didn't got cancelled. It got a proper ending. How did this got a proper ending and not That's so Raven and many other Disney channel and junior shows?! But hey at least it got a proper ending and wasn't cancelled for a stupid reason. (Cough) Victorious. I'm still mad at you Dan for not letting this happen!
@Simbala-bq5vy Actually, in season 4, they could have made more episodes in the tree of life and gave us some episodes on Rani and Kion ruling together.
@redflower2034 Actually no. They could have just made a short movie special how Kion is ruling the tree. Kinda like how they did with the Alex Vs Alex special from Wizards of Waverly place and how Alex is doing now that she's the family wizard. The lion guard is done. I'm glad that it's gone.
The series wasn't abandoned. It just reached a conclusion. Having a new season after that finale wouldn't be impossible, but it seemed like it reached a natural conclusion. Most Disney shows tend to last three seasons too. I love The Lion King and the Lion Guard was a lot of fun. I hope that they can do more with the franchise than their live action movies though.
I like this video, i love watching your videos a lot and i'm still a Lion Guard fan and i also like other Disney Jr shows and i also like Disney Channel shows a lot.
The thing is, if we get a reboot or season 4, it needs to NOT just be for little kiddies. The original Lion King was extremely enjoyable for all ages, not just toddlers and preschoolers. This is why so many true Lion King fans (myself included) see the show as an insult to the legacy of The Lion King. Something along the lines of Zootopia's spin-off show on Disney Plus but with full-length episodes and a plot would be infinitely better.
Season 4 wouldn’t make sense because kion is no longer part of lion guard so it would be about vitani so it would make sense to make a sequel series about kion and his friends at the tree of life
I may not have watched it since, but the main reason why I've first watched it including the tv movie that came before, mostly because of how much I love lion king 2 and 1. And I thought this was going to be a continuation after the 2nd film, but...turns out it's a prequel to that. Which sounds cool to me in my opinion. Yes, this was aired on Disney Junior but I did enjoyed it for what it was.
I think also another reason could be, is Disney is working and promoting on the Mufasa movie at the moment. After that who knows what happens next. But the show is unlikely to continue for sure
101 DALMATIAN HIGH SCHOOL UHHH YOU HAVEN'T FORGOT ABOUT IT WELL IT'S THE REASON THE LION GUARD GOT CANCELLED BECAUSE HALF OF THE CAST AND CREW CAME TO HELP ME WORK ON 101 DALMATIAN HIGH SCHOOL
Well the show got a very nice ending, but it would be nice to keep it alive, if not a show perhaps a movie version and you are right about something even if season 3 had a nice ending since when has it stopped disney from continuing and building more on that perhaps this time concentrate more on the tree of life adventures, Kion and Rani and all that. I'm pretty sure there are a lot of potential remaining in the series and loads of possible ideas that can be explored, so why not.
If they finally make the fourth season Then we will have Kion’s long lost older brother Kopa after he returned to the Pride land After kion & rani visit there he face-to-face to kopa his older brother And then Simba Kiara and Nala came over and they recognise kopa And kopa reunite with them and after that kopa Will have a chat with Kion and he will let him know that he’s Kion’s and Kiara’s older brother Who’s survive from his faint from Zara
So pretty much then Bluey ruined The Lion Guard and its chances of ever getting another season because it’s so popular 🙄 which pretty much I don’t understand as it’s such an annoying show
Bluey isn't to blame for TLG not getting another Season (nor any other show for that matter). The Lion Guard was a serialized show with a beginning, middle and end planned. No other seasons were made because because it's story was completed. Simple as that.
No, I don't think we'll get more Lion Guard. I think it's possible we could get a new series that focuses on the Tree Of Life, but it wouldn't be under the Lion Guard branding, it would probably be called something else (maybe even just "The Tree Of Life"). It would also probably follow Rani's ancestors rather than Kion and Rani, I just feel like they're done with Kion. But who knows, Disney might be done making shows based off The Lion King. I hope not, because there's clearly a demand for it.
mufasa the lion king 2024 is now hitting at theaters dec 20 a thrilling story of mufasa as a orphan stray who was lost from a flood and was found by a prince named taka later know as scar they both became brothers as their journey to find their new home called *pridelands* and they are being hunted by the outsiders and their leader is krios evil white lion he is planning for his big pride he is a ruthless king and plots revenge on taka and mufasa for killing his own son
There's not going to be a 4th season. There never was. The uploader was just click-baiting and was either misinformed, or passing around the same misinformation that fans have been spreading about the show's status to justify waiting for a fourth season and/or harassing the writers to revive the series
I'm satisfied with the three seasons they got. I'd be worried about Disney ruining the series if they took it any further. As it is, they didn't always get TLG right. There was precisely one good Bunga episode. The rest were absolute duds. And I had to confiscate Ushari on behalf of Character Protective Services: Reptile Division. Since there's a greater than 50% chance that Disney would double down on what they got wrong with this series, I don't want them to go back to it. At all.

Kid Danger: *wearing his purple scarf on his neck wearing his mighty pup movie outfit* I remember watching "The Loin Guard"! *smiles*
I never really watched the Lion Guard so can’t comment on a new series really as dunno about plots and all that.
With the new CGI era of TLK, you can argue that there’s three different universes:
1 - LK 1 & LK 2
2 - GCI
3 - the spin-offs such as LG and that Timon & Pumba TV show.

Lion King+ (1994-2016)
How you mentioned the Lion King getting a new spinoff show made me think that the Creators of the Lion King, and Lion Guard could do a sequel Lion King Series called the Lion King called a Different Animal Generation.
❤🎉
Saying that it is "abandoned" is just a title clickbait in my opinion
This show was my childhood 😭 I loved it so much I wish they continued
Fans a much better off watching Lion Guard than the live action Lion King remake and it's upcoming Mufasa prequel. It's an pretty solid show.
Most of the shows that don't fit this pattern aren't the shows like Aurthur that keep going and going - they're the one season shows like Orbots or Pirates of Darkwater or Spiral Zone that never struck ratings gold (or, more likely, toy sales projections)
But then, there are supposed to be two more seasons of Phineas and Ferb in development right now - so, it just might be possible for a new Lion Guard.
🎉❤
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse?? Sofia the First?? Tigger and Pooh?? Jake and the never land pirates?? DAMN, I remember watching those throughout my early childhood. Absolute classics,
*"Good times!" - Sonic, from the Sonic The Hedgehog (2020) Movie.*
*"Oh yeah!" - SpongeBob, from the SpongeBob SquarePants episode “Patrick Smartpants”.*
This was my childhood, and I thought the ending was perfect.
Lion guard was my favorite childhood show ever and only like a year and a half ago I didn't remember anything about it but then I found a UA-cam short that was an edit of kion and my memory went crazy and I remember everything of the show and I started watching it again around a year ago but a few months later I lost access to Disney plus 💀 but it I had not had the song "mamas boy" in my shorts fees I would have never found that short so ya crazy how things became and that edit was from a UA-cam channel named
King kion leader official
And that dude makes great edits and if it was not for that short that one single short I would never had this show as my favorite of all time because I remember now that, the lion guard was my favorite childhood show and I hope it makes a comeback but anyways you are a goat so keep up this great content!
Man I'm getting emotional for a show about a lion with wind powers at 15 💀💀💀💀💀💀
Yes ❤
Me to ❤
It actually didn't got cancelled.
Someone said to me there was a season 4 confirmed. Was this true?
@redflower2034 No. Season 4 is not needed. The show got it's proper ending. There's nothing more left to explore.
@@Simbala-bq5vy I hope the lion guard gets revived like how sofia the first got revived for sofia the first royal magic
It was the best show to watch as a kid
I thought i was the only one who watched this 😅 5 year old me thought the roar thing kion did was so cold that game in the bg alone gives me nostalgia
I really miss the Lion guard in 2016 when I was only 2 my mom made me watch it and I was born a year before I show (2014)
Still pissed they never added kopa😤
I liked this show fuli is my fav why did dinsey end this show this should come back
I agree with you. The show had a good ending so a spin off show would be cool.
The Lion Guard is like a combination of Disney's The Lion King mixed with isekai
How so?
Season 4 wouldn’t make sense because kion is no longer part of lion guard so it would be about vitani so it would make sense to make a sequel series about kion and his friends at the tree of life
I still stand by my thoughts about it not deserving to be on Disney junior it diserved to be on Normal Disney channal
I recently turned 18 and love this show ❤
i lov your channel already
whats the music u usse in this video
A new Lion King show would be wonderful, I once did a vocal trailer for a fan fiction.
Don’t make the sequel a Disney Junior show. Make it a Disney plus show.
Disney junior can be watched by anyone.
I still watch it!!!
1:07 you answered your question
i loved this show back in the day
I love ur videos
i can't believe this franchise is over😢😮
I watched it as an adult and kind of enjoyed it
A lion king commentary channel? In 2024? Sign me up’
I don’t think it was cancelled- it had a good ending and it tied up the loose ends so it really doesn’t need another season
I really loved Lion Guard 💜
What happened? The story was finished, wrapped up. Not sure what else there was to tell.
I was a kid ago and a like the lion guard and now i still like it
I wish the lion guard gets live action remake
no fucking live action
Me too, that would be fun to watch and have Janja stay reformed.
Justice for kimba the white Lion!
I honestly think they should just continue it with Kai son like they did with Simba
i wached it all Because i love the lion guard a need a lion king 5 NOW
The Lion Guard was never Forgotten
❤
Lion Guard Disney+ live action is in the works
That would be hilarious 💀
no they didnt abandon this show at all it was FINISHED, thats why we have the end we have
Lion King?
Here I am 😁
Well the show got a very nice ending, but it would be nice to keep it alive, if not a show perhaps a movie version and you are right about something even if season 3 had a nice ending since when has it stopped disney from continuing and building more on that perhaps this time concentrate more on the tree of life adventures, Kion and Rani and all that. I'm pretty sure there are a lot of potential remaining in the series and loads of possible ideas that can be explored, so why not.
If they finally make the fourth season
Then we will have Kion’s long lost older brother
Kopa after he returned to the Pride land
After kion & rani visit there he face-to-face to kopa his older brother
And then Simba Kiara and Nala came over and they recognise kopa
And kopa reunite with them and after that kopa Will have a chat with
Kion and he will let him know that he’s Kion’s and Kiara’s older brother
Who’s survive from his faint from Zara
I don't know the lion cause I have good memories
do an live action reboot series of Lion Guard similar to the live action Lion king movies
So pretty much then Bluey ruined The Lion Guard and its chances of ever getting another season because it’s so popular 🙄 which pretty much I don’t understand as it’s such an annoying show
Yeah, bluey is overrated as hell.
Bluey isn't to blame for TLG not getting another Season (nor any other show for that matter). The Lion Guard was a serialized show with a beginning, middle and end planned. No other seasons were made because because it's story was completed. Simple as that.
fun fact I taught myself how to read from this show when it first came out cuz my parents are.... but now I'm good at reading 😁😁
I ship kino x jasiri soooo much they are people for each other and i hope they end up together
Kion took Rani as his mate, he and Jasiri are only going to happen in fanfiction I'm afraid
Dude different animals and THERES A LITERL AGE GAP STOP BEING DISGUSTING!
@@FantasticFawnleap are you talking about i ship kion x jasiri?
@MatheusFilipe-m6q YES I AM TALKING TO YOU SHE WAS LITERALLY A TEENAGER WHEN THEY MET AND HIM A CHILD ITS AN AGE GAP!!
@@FantasticFawnleap ok ok dude clam down i'm sorry i just wise they end up as a couple i didn't kenw there were different ages
They did what 😤🤯
@T8TheLion do you think the lion guard will return someday?
No, I don't think we'll get more Lion Guard. I think it's possible we could get a new series that focuses on the Tree Of Life, but it wouldn't be under the Lion Guard branding, it would probably be called something else (maybe even just "The Tree Of Life"). It would also probably follow Rani's ancestors rather than Kion and Rani, I just feel like they're done with Kion. But who knows, Disney might be done making shows based off The Lion King. I hope not, because there's clearly a demand for it.
I still watch the lion guard/lion king and make edits on it I hope you like them!!
look for The Lion Guard Drama King
fr I use to watch it
mufasa the lion king 2024 is now hitting at theaters dec 20 a thrilling story of mufasa as a orphan stray who was lost from a flood and was found by a prince named taka later know as scar they both became brothers as their journey to find their new home called *pridelands* and they are being hunted by the outsiders and their leader is krios evil white lion he is planning for his big pride he is a ruthless king and plots revenge on taka and mufasa for killing his own son
I also want a new season ❤🎉
Wait, there's going to be a fourth session? Why didn't we get to see it? Also session 3 is completely sh*t.
There's not going to be a 4th season. There never was. The uploader was just click-baiting and was either misinformed, or passing around the same misinformation that fans have been spreading about the show's status to justify waiting for a fourth season and/or harassing the writers to revive the series
Probably due to low ratings
Wish come back
Forgotten about? TF who forgot lol
At all.
I Sorry
