- It seems that absolutely no one is aware so I’ll fill you in. Recently on Disney+ we got a brand new series titled Dream Productions which is set in the Inside Out universe aka. Riley’s head. You’d think after the massive success that Inside Out 2 had you’d have heard all about it, but I can find very little tap of it all, so that’s what I’m going to be discussing today. How AWESOME this show was. Inside Out seems to be liquid gold for Pixar. They can do no wrong with this franchise it seems and I hope we get to see a lot more from the Inside Out world. Lots to discuss, I won’t give much away in the description, though be warned this is a SPOILER REVIEW. I’ll be talking about specific plot points so if you haven’t seen it, do yourself a favour fire up Disney+ watch it, then come back and watch my thoughts on it. You can thank me later. Enjoy.
Didn't even get through the first episode before I stated out loud that I needed more. 4 20-min episodes were NOT enough. There are SOO many concepts about dreams that can still be explored, so I'm hoping they carry on this series🙏🏾
The show was originally going to have seven episodes, but it was cut down to four due to story issues on Inside Out 2, the show going overbudget, and Pixar suffering massive layoffs and shifting its priorities away from streaming.
@lasseehrenreich5502 Sad, such a good show, but I guess it accomplished what it needed in the 4 episodes, maybe 5 or 6 might have been a bit better, or maybe make the 4 episodes a little longer.
@lasseehrenreich5502 fair enough, that makes sense
@Supe4well if the series is a success then we might get a season two with more episodes
"And Riley woke up her parents, so now
I've got the other studios mad at me too!
See, Dad was having a flying dream.
Do you know how expensive those are?"
that raises SO MANY QUESTIONS! like what is it telepathy?! the other insiders can call each other?!
The Dad probably mentioned that he had a flying dream that was interrupted and Riley’s studio made an educated guess that the other studios would be mad
@@tannerp.4996 Ok but still that would be a huge assumption since they would have no way of communicating with them. Also, I'm confused on how they would have currency even inside of Rileys brain, like where is the money coming from? Like their only audience is Riley and she obviously can not pay her own mind so????
@@alliskye3996 Still more believable than telepathy. The real world stuff should be as realistic as possible. And the currency thing is a good point lol. Guess every mind society has their own currency the same way they wear clothes.
@@tannerp.4996 Yeah I know, I just think it seemed kind of weird. But I am still very condused about that part too lol.
I don’t think Inside Out 3 would be a necessary thing-unless we’re going all the way up to Riley’s adulthood-but I would LOVE for them to explore more of Riley’s teenage phases in and around Inside Out 2 to really stretch their legs. This was only 4 episodes, but there’s *plenty* of space for this series to grow and evolve into its own thing and expand in bigger and more exciting ways.
Ever wondered why Riley smiled before the credits roll in the second movie?
@@revinhatol she got accepted to the hockey team
Nah we kinda do. I need to see her become an adult and more of nostalgia.
At this point Pixar is probably gonna force themselves to make a third one
This show was so good, because it explored the ideas so well. I loved the sleep walking and lucid dream segments, they were really impactful, and these are some of the best characters I’ve seen in a while! I honestly think it holds up really close to the actual movies in quality, and the writing is on the same level if not better than the original movies.
If my dreams were movies I guarantee the director would have been high
I am glad they kept the inside out 2 va's
The last episode was absolutely incredible! SPOILERS AHEAD IF YOU HAVEN’T FINISHED IT. I watched both Inside Out and Inside Out 2, and honestly, both made me cry. On top of that, I binged Dream Productions when it first came out, and it was spectacular.
One of my favorite parts was when Riley realizes she’s lucid dreaming-it was handled so well. Instead of the chaotic moment when she’s sleepwalking, where the Sleep and Awake dial is spinning super fast, the lucid dreaming scene has the dial moving in slow motion. The contrast between the two was so creative and really captured the essence of those moments.
All the episodes were done so well, especially in how they portrayed how chaotic and bizarre dreams can be (trust me, I’ve had some REALLY weird ones). The animation quality was stunning, and the humor sprinkled throughout-thanks to characters like Nightmare, Funny, and the other directors-added so much charm.
It’s a solid 10/10 for me. I only wish we could’ve gotten more episodes! The combination of emotional storytelling, visual creativity, and relatable moments made the whole series unforgettable.
The concept of dreams in Inside Out is just *so expansive,* there’s no way they can’t expand on it. 😅
Honestly I want them to expand on the world of inside besides just dreams !! Show me impulse control, show me irrational and intrusive thoughts. I wana see Riley during college - scratch that AFTER college. Her as a mom maybe they could explore ppd and post partum in general I think the possibilities are really endless
I really liked this new series, very great to show how dreams work in our heads. Shame is only four episodes because honestly i think there should be more of them. Anyway, really recommend it
I honestly laughed way harder than I should have at the "I have travelled thousands of kilometers to find you" line.
I first saw an ad on instagram and that was the only way I found out about this show. The advertisement or something weren't all that strong or prominent. I first thought it was going to be another sequel about a bunch of shorts about Riley's life after Inside Out 2, but then I heard about it being an "in-between-quel" and I thought it was a lame idea because I really wanted to see how Inside Out 2 changed Riley going forward, but I saw the first episode and I just loved it. I really liked the animation for Riley's teenage self in her paper version and how Riley was super stressed out over something as simple as a middle school dance and honestly I just loved the way theyhat all parts of riley just love her and only want the best. in the first few movies i didn't really understand how the emotions of riley fit into the world of riley's mind bc they were always saying "headquarters" but i find it so much funy that they are literally the top of the top that every other part of riley has to answer to and honestly it did well as the part it is with the whole expansion of the world of inside out and my most favorite thing is how it shows how riley feels about romance at her age because she rejects all the clinginess of the boyfriends and like it i guess shows how she doesn't seem interested in romance because she's too young and not ready for it beyond just watching it unfold
My favorite joke in this series was Paula's dog running people and props over in the vehicle they were in while Paula was talking to the camera.
I saw the show yesterday and really liked it! I personally would like a season 2 since there is a lot more the show can cover, involving the real life movie industry, like the concept of mockbusters (movies that attempt to cash in on the success of popular films). I also like the mockumentary style, which reminds me a lot of "Surf's Up," a Sony animated film that also had a mockumentary style to it.
Imagine a Pixar 3 where Riley deals with Love and romance and the key to Love is loving yourself. When you said the thing about how all of the characters love Riley so much, it would be cool to see a moment when Riley doesn't even love herself and how her brain workers would react or be influenced by it. Just a fan theory :P
Does the lucid dream in episode 4 technically count as their equivalent of meeting god?
This one right here officer
9:39 honestly, the moment Paula started acting very self-centered, I immediately thought of Dwayne Johnson. At first, I was thinking Dwayne Johnson and Auli’i Cravalho. Since Dwayne Johnson is so pushy on making unnecessary movies so he can boost his ego and his popularity. Especially when Paula was clinging so close to the good ol’ days, is basically Johnson. Dwayne is clinging to his good old days of wrestling fame and acting fame, like Moana. But now that it’s gone, he’s desperately clinging to it. He’s going back to wrestling, pushing Moana live actions and Moana sequels. The whole spiel. I’m genuinely starting to wonder if they based not just Hollywood but the Rock for Paula to act but eventually learn from.
Bingo
It genuinely looks and sounds cute and I hope it'll get a lot of attention soon!
I’m sad that I can’t watch dream productions because I can’t afford Disney +😢
Well…I’m just saying, mate. 🏴☠️
@@ThatRandomEncounterGuy no... dont. this is actually a good show.
Don't Feel Bad I don't have Disney +
@@leedlelel2373I mean, either they don’t watch it and don’t pay, or they do watch and and don’t pay, so…
It was actually amazing
I LOVED THIS SHOW. Inside Out is quite literally my favorite movie and they did it so much justice with this series
I think the bean people are brain cells
Why are all these good shows so God Damn short!
This show was great
I feel its getting more attention now. Ive seen many things about it on tiktok.
I really like it I would like more it was really fun
Elemental is my favorite pixer movie
Best tv show all year
2 minutes ago?? Damn
Wait why did you skip Encanto? That movie was great and not a sequel
That’s Disney Animation, not Pixar
I keep searching for Reaction videos for this series, i only found one channel 😥
Don’t expect any more. From what I heard at Lightbox after Win or Lose comes out don’t expect anymore Pixar shows.
Why is inside out the series Disney decides to make good sequels and shows for
It may be because it has the emotional depth since they're in just a normal tweens mind. Also, It was not just a cash grab so I guess the directors and writers actually cared about the quality??? *I'm not trying to say this in a snarky tone I am making fun of the money hungry executives in hollywood and disney/pixar*
This is so surprising, i personally thought that this show was, a show? i mean it felt very repetitive and too simple and similar to other things that have been released. I felt like this was too much like inside out as it was kinda like the same template with different colours.
Moana 2 writing could never with it's mediocrity lazy plot
The way dream production clock moana 2 so badly
1:07 it didnt help that it was banned in most of asia and africa
I watched all the episodes and it was pretty good, but it was too much about filming. I also just want to point out that Paula is an idiot and Janelle and Xeni are the best characters. I'm also grateful that they didn't change the voice cast and animation like DreamWorks does (Boss Baby, the Bad Guys, so on.)
Paula is a lil arrogant but shes supposed to be at first
I thought Toy Story 4 sucked?
