5th October 2024 44871 86259 CCE

A bad start to the day when a points failure at Carnforth resulted in all trains being stopped. The problem was solved after about an hour with several trains in both directions being stacked.
Running about 30 minutes late 44871 approaches Cinderbarrow Lane, on Yealand bank, only to be photobombed by a delayed Pendolino. An hour or so later we see 86259 heads the CCE from Euston to Carlisle. Later in the day we see 44871 haul the CCE through Silverdale station.
Keep an eye on the footcrossing as the train approaches a whistle can be heard, but an elderley couple ignore it and walk down the ramp and walk across to the UP platform .

Nice one Idris, a close shave at Cinderbarrow which was always as possibility after the failure cause a backlog, utter stupidity hearing a whistle from an approaching train and still crossing even the driver saw them whistling again, total idiots, 👍
