      Personally, I'd rather keep Sanders as a Senator while under a Yang presidency with initiatives like Democracy Dollars on his side, making Bernie's work a lot easier as he continues fighting to make a more equal, stable environment for Americans.
      Either way, I think each candidate is great and deserves to be heard.

      I actually think he's just afraid of people will pitch forks so he wants to give people pocket money to keep them happy. VAT is coming out of our own pocket to fund it while the wealthy one factory after another outsource the jobs or automate them. That means in the future there will be bunch of useless and jobless people and a few who own the whole country.

      I think if Yang became president with Bernie as VP or the other way around and Tulsi was secretary of state and maybe even changed things around so state department is more directly involved in commanding the military. That combo would be killing it.

Yang president with the solutionist mindset, Gillibrand as VP (appealing to more established centrists), Gabbard as a super secretary (SoD + SoS) and Bernie spear-heading a ministry for a green new deal version with *meaningful* but not guaranteed jobs and strengthening worker unions/rights.
      One objection, though, to not making Gabbard VP. Gillibrand is less appealing to conservatives. If Yang is as good as we think, he shouldn't be reliant on his VP pick. But I still think, Gabbard is resonating more solidly with people on the right.

      @gespilk More like Yang's UBI is: Your beer is taken from you and the dividend takes a bit of that and gives it back. Wealth UBI is people with a few beers give a portion of their beer, but don't exactly want to so you say you only have 1 beer.

    • @luigipiraino3528
      @luigipiraino3528 5 років тому

      gespilk The way I understand it. A consumption tax (VAT) is superior to a wealth tax because once someone has made there millions or billions of dollars it is theres and very hard to take back. This idea is kind of new to me as well. Why don’t we just tax rich people? Well I guess it’s like once you buy a car it’s yours. OR LIKE when you buy a case of BEER it’s yours, you can share that beer with others if you want or you can drink it all yourself it’s your choice. If however before you buy that case of beer you are aware that one bottle will go to help another American get drunk you might say “ya sure it’s for the better good go ahead.” And others would say “ how Bret Kavanaugh of you. Thank you!” Now let’s say you have 2,000,000 cases of beer, and the government says “ you must give a percentage of your beer to others”, you would say “of course, I have more beer than I can ever drink, of course I’ll share.” Well unfortunately there are a lot of pricks who don’t think that way and never will. So before they buy other case of beer you let them know that 10% goes to get the rest of us drunk! Any way that’s what I think the difference is. Nice talking to you.

    • @ryan6402
      @ryan6402 5 років тому

      @gespilk Man you are consistent. Ill just have to follow you around the internet to correct your idiocy. You neglected to mention anyother source of income, like when automation is the prime source of manual labor (food industry, farming, retail, etc) repetive cognitive tasks (accounting, journalism, etc) money will be flowing in from everywhere then only to end up in a billionaire CEOs and their shareholders hands. A wealth tax is a ridiculous notion, we already saw how jeff bezos dodged taxs alongside uber and netflix and many more. Adding more paperwork to their list is just a couple more hoops to jump through VAT cannot be dodged becuase its fluid with the economy in every movement. From the cotton feild to the mill where its processed to the store its sold at. Aside from that- VAT tax hasnt been repealed anywhere its been implimented, whereas weath tax has been repealed in (your gona love this) Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, the Netherlands and Sweden. So please get off of Andrew Yangs dick.

      He has a lot of chances to ttack abour things outside of his big idea.
      He has a lot of decent climate change policies, when asked about Climate Change on a debate, he went to UBI instead of the other 5 policies. He chooses what he talks about and he chooses to only talk about "freedom dividend"

      @misternightstar 5 років тому +15

      Did you watch the full 30-minute Town Hall from CNN, and the full 60-minute climate crisis talk from MSNBC? If so, you might remember him discussing Democracy Dollars, reforesting, thorium-based energy on the path to clean renewables, the American Score Card, and programs for people affected by climate displacement. He speaks often about the dividend (one of his 3 primary policies) for the same reason people often ask about it. Because it's a powerful idea for which many people have understandable questions. If you are an international company, you are always looking for who can give you the best advantage in terms of running funds. A VAT says, you do business with Americans, you pay a tiny sliver to do business here. They already do it in Europe and Yang is only proposing 1/2 of the European VAT.

      And can you imagine what an increase in minimum wage would do to these small shop owners? Amazon will invest in more robots to save money on labor while small shops are pushed further to the edge with even thinner margins to compete with Amazon.

    • @Schmidty1
      @Schmidty1 5 років тому +1

      @@namkoong80 To be fair, an increase in the minimum wage also means a lot more consumer spending because the poor and middle class spends more of their money proportionally than the rich. Amazon drives small and even larger businesses to go bankrupt because people want their products cheap and most importantly online fast shipping which is more convenient. Amazon has hit large corporations hard and drove out small businesses. The robot component of Amazon had very little impact of why Amazon is screwing everyone so far. I would agree that it will become more important in the future though. A minimum wage increase does not hurt small businesses as the example of Seattle and numerous 15$ minimum wage states as well as numerous studies. It actually helps them because they get more revenue. We should be doing UBI, FJG and raising the minimum wage.

    Yes, he is finally using the "foundation for a house" metaphor!!!!
    Just like the foundation of a house, we can't live on foundation alone. A house with only a foundation is useless. You still need walls and windows and doors and everything else that makes a house, a house. However, without a solid foundation a house is just at risk to fall apart at the slightest of disturbances, in this case, an economic disturbance of a surprise $400 bill.
    We need to build a solid foundation for the American families so that the middle class is solid and strong. However, it is not just economically strong but strong in community, family unit, and strong of heart and spirit. Right now the middle class is beyond struggling and we see this across the board. We may say we are all "doing great" but in all honesty the American family is struggling. There is a reason why "the struggle is real" is a legit meme because that is the hard truth.
    It's time to rewrite the rules for us, for the American people, for the American middle class. We don't need lip service. We need solutions.

DD was suggested by someone else and its a good solution. i agree. that he adopted as one of his policies is a good thing. what iam talking about is that Yang as a progressive, and you see this in allot of platforms where he gives speeches and interviews, has an obligation in my view to the people to tell the truth and adress major issues. He does not do this on this very important issue witch is corruption. Give me a link to 1 interview where you can show me wrong on the toppic of corruption? You cant sadly.
      As an example: Yang says continiously that we have Trump in office bc of automation, disregarding the facts that took place during the elections of 2016. The rigged primary, the leaks of emails of the PC Hillary, shown how corrupt our goverment, media and Coop are, influencing everything to serve their agenda and to my view doing their best stopping progressives getting any platform and thus a chance off implementing anything. Doing so by commiting fraud, propaganda and obstructions of law to hinder anyone that does not serve their interrest to become a nominee. This shows me that Yang either is not as smart has he thinks he is, witch i dont think is the case, there for he must have a dubble agenda and thats why i dont trust him.

      @@NEILANIL1 Dropping Bernie in with Biden is ridiculous. Bernie's sharp as a tack and listens to people. Joe has nothing of value to offer at all. He's not interested in working people and he's losing his marbles day by day. Love Andrew, though. I wish he'd get better treatment from the dolts in MSM. I'm a Bernie supporter because he knows exactly who and what he's up against, but Andrew Yang is vital to the current discourse and should definitely be in the next Administration. I wish him and his campaign the very best.

    I see a couple flaws with a wealth tax. Most Multimillion/billion/trillionaires have much of their wealth tied to their businesses, real estate, etc. It's illiquid money that fluctuates in value. Who is responsible to value how much a business is worth? Secondly if 2$ on every dollar over 50 million is taxed, couples can get divorced and each keep 50 million, they could also "gift" their children the same amount. A wealth tax is good in theory, but the top .01% are fantastic when it comes to evading taxes. Not practical IMO.
