Agreed, however the Constitution , as written, to constrain the power of government, has not been a factor for almost a century, after FDR emasculated it, with his ' court packing ' scheme.
The utilities are not the government and don’t have the authority to levy a tax based on income. They shouldn’t even know your income. We need to fight this tooth and nail.
Utilities are so heavily regulated by the government that they can't make any decision without them. The only reason the government doesn't flat-out own the utilities is to avoid civil and criminal responsibility. Same with the education system.
@@jimdavis1566,onei out of every ten people in the US lives in California! The democrat disease is prevelent so all we can do is get up a petition and give them to Mexico!

These people are making hand over fist profit margins while constantly crying that they need to increase rates.
PG and E Pacific Gas and Electric is a privately owned company, what's worse, they're guaranteed a higher than average, profit margin. The state can't mandate anything that PG and E doesn't want, so they're in on this scheme. The state of California is run by the population of the southern half of the state and big cities are entirely democratic and socialist thinking. Any attempt to sever the state, they vote against it, any attempt by the northern half to gain back water or electricity, the south pushes higher rates and more taxes on what the northern half uses from the southern half. This is the oldest problem in California, the north is predominantly rural and conservative, the south more liberal and think taxes are great for the state. Sooner or later, their tax rates will end up at 105% of your income and the state will go broke, because no one can afford to live there any longer, the shininess of the gold is quickly tarnishing. As people leave, they'll keep raising taxes, fees, anything to feed the coffers of the liberal state wishes. I know, I grew up there, lived there for many years, kept leaving but being in electronics, the only place to find employment. Retired, I packed up and got out of there when Newsom took office.
Go ahead in charge them. The reality is they will simply just use your money (via the state income, sales, and other taxes you pay) to fight you in the courts. And if they lose, it's no big deal for them. They'll just find another way, usually by reintroducing the same bill with some minor changes in wording, to continue with their B.S.
Something that no one talks about is the fact that if we get rid of all fossil fuels and only use electricity. We all will have one provider for power for everyone and everything controlled by Sacramento. What could possibly go wrong?

The major problem is once they move they don’t change their voting habits and ruin the place they move to just like they did in California. I’ve met probably 15 people in Colorado that came from California that confirmed this.
They certainly don't go to schools, road repair or police. I've heard the vast majority goes to paying the pensions of retired CA government workers. They get six figure pensions and then move to other states and live like kings.

It always amazes me that every income redistribution scheme redistributes more taxpayer money to the government and its "preferred associates", and less to those in need - maybe socialism can not survive without poor people, so if poor people are no longer poor, then there is no longer a "need" for socialism, and that must never be allowed to happen...
How does that amaze you, thats exactly what every government/mafia/criminal organization do. The only difference between paying taxes and protection money to a gang is the gang actually protects you and doesn't pretend it's going to some "good cause".

Most of California was Republican except SF, LA, SD, OAK, and Sac. Sadly this is where most of the population resides. Most of the state is rural and agricultural areas. These people are feeling the crunch. What a joke 69k-180k what a large grouping of most middle to low income households. Crooks paying for the wildfires their negligence caused. Then developing those areas at a huge profit. Gentrification on a state wide level. I know, I left the state I grew up in for financial reasons. Just sad
There’s a lot of us here already. Problem is as we tried to get Newsome out of office they do what they want. They’re corrupt. I believe there are more here that are red then they want to admit and they won’t let go of power. Even if it means disregarding our more than plenty signatures collected to get him out. I think its time we go berserk and clean house
I think many of these laws are unconstitutional. They need to be litigated.

Agreed, however the Constitution , as written, to constrain the power of government, has not been a factor for almost a century, after FDR emasculated it, with his ' court packing ' scheme.
Litigated by Democrat judges? Good luck.

My family lives in CA, parents home is paid off so they'll never move. Hubby's parent's lives there, apparently inflation doesn't affect them since they're retired doctors. We moved to TX and still visit CA often to enjoy all the yummy food. BUT will never move back to CA or invest.
Same here was born and raised in the Central Valley.
California will tax you on the time you spend visiting family. It will cheaper to buy your family plane tickets and have them come to your house.
@lalalalalalalal4264 - We have our son's and their children here in CA so leaving the state is not an option. Our home is also paid for and we are not retired Dr's. The cost of living here is a direct result of poor politics in Sacramento, the people of this state are so close minded that they believe what ever the Democrats spew. Nothing will change until people get smart and vote them out of office. It's one bad decision after another and one bad scheme after another to rape the tax payers of this state.
@lalalalal... just an FYI these types are the problem here who most likely vote for tax & spend dims. So long as they enjoy l7fe they dont care what happens to others.
@@soniag4516 - Re the remarks about people who don't or won't leave California. My husband and I are born and raised in this state, we raised our family here, our grandchildren live here, I have cousins who also have raised there families in thus state. It is ingenious for some to suggest that we
Thanks Steve for the update. And thanks for all your videos. Your a true patriot
How is this even legal
Easy. They write a law to make it legal. Done.
I wish we could share the back breaking work we do instead of the miserly income it produces.
This will cause even more people to flee comifornia, thus lowering its highest earners and tax base.
They've been wanting to return CA to MX. Just sayin'...
Outrageous! How can it even be legal ?
pretty sure it's not.
It’s not! 😤
If they pass the law. then it will be legal. That's what legal means. It may not be moral or smart. But it will be legal.
@@TK0_23_actually it wouldn’t, federally it wouldn’t. If California decides to pass this then the federal government will step in due to it being something so unethical and overall practically stealing from people’s wallets
Nah because it can be proven as unconstitutional in federal court but no one gets their money or damages back. The government needs held accountable. @@TK0_23_
I hope (ALL) liberals are quite pleased and happy with themselves. Soon enough that’s all California will have. Good luck Gavin.
They are very happy. They will push for his presidency, so the entire US can enjoy the California taxation lifestyle...🤣🤦♂️😂
They are running with their stolen 'big money' and going to RED states (never blue) to spread the cancer to good places.
The poor in CA don't pay their utility bills anyway. They receive assistance from the taxpayer. Just this last week, 4,000,000 Californians had unpaid water bills FORGIVEN. We are punished in CA in a multi-tier system, where rates increase dramatically by usage. We are constantly badgered not to water plants, wash cars, etc, but if you are low income, no worries.
Truly the land of fruit and nuts. I was born there and left, to return to USC Years later, it was beautiful back in the late 70’s and 80’s. I could have ended up there to teach, THANK GOD , I moved to Florida! The politicians have totally destroyed that beautiful State, Much Shame on THEM
How about a California initiative eliminating the income tax, use only a sales tax and require a balanced budget?
How about put things back to the way they were when the State prospered? Putting a band-aid on top of a band aid is a classic Dem move.
A wealth tax would be better. Also property tax.
That would make too much sense! 🤪🤪🤪
Nuisance just raised income taxes.
A wealth tax? Do you want to drive more people out of the State?@@Interdimensionaltravelagent
Thank you Steve,we agree 💯percent, taxes are killing American people,I’m so fed up with taxes!!!
Disconnect from the grid, and don’t pay the bill.
I love California beautiful state I love Oregon beautiful state. But when I left California in 1997. I could see the changes happening. And that’s why my daughter and myself came back to Mississippi. Because I knew I could make it here. It’s a crying shame that the family and friends that I still have out there. Are going through so much, nothing but a bunch of criminals in their government
The worst part of all this is watching what they're spending the money on!!
I left California over twelve years ago and I didn’t want to. I felt like I was forced out because of the bureaucratic craziness.
The last one out of California, turns off the lights.
I grew up in California, and both my parents were also natives. I am so saddened by the chaos there now.
Time to stop voting Democrat liberal chaos
Same here.
I left in 2015. Cost of living was a third of what I left in southern cali. Best part was I found a job making three times what I was making before. The struggle was real in Cali. I should have left sooner.
I am a 6th generation Californian. My 18 year old grandson is the 8th generation for my family. I am leaving for good in about 2 months. Can't stand it anymore. Paying $6 for a gallon of gas when the national average is $3.30. Grocery items going up every week, and not just by a dime or quarter, but a dollar of two.
I am 5th generation Native Californian and I left CA. It has become a cesspool with great weather.
No Nancy, I am standing up for what I believe in!
I've served this country 22yrs. Was blown-up by an IED during my 21st yr. just outside of Baghdad. I was standing on the ground above a culvert where it was buried. 2×120mm anti-tank rounds wired to a cell phone.

Our Governor is corrupt, all these taxes are nothing but extortion at best.
It is UNCONSTITUTIONAL to over tax Citizen's to the point of the likes for which we are living.
All these ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS that are getting free health care thanks to you and I, by way of our tax money's is UNCONSTITUTIONAL!

Amen brother. Im US Army Vet. Thank you for your service, Agree 100 percent!
Thank you
Mr. Forbes!
This state’s officially lost its mind! No wonder why so many folks are getting out of California! 🤦
The entire tax system needs to be abolished completely
A wealth tax that goes straight into the pockets of private companies. They got a chokehold on these politicians
Newsom's personal lawyers helped PG&E when they were on the hook after the Camp Fire.
So punishing you for success. These people need their own Jan 6.
They don't have a chokehold, the Dems are happy to support the businesses that do kickbacks to the Dem party.
Most of the rich people in a nice businesses are leaving because the way the streets are with the homeless
@@williamstewart1957 just closed an in n out in Oakland because of car break-ins in the parking lot. I think it's the first one in history.
Gavin You need to step down ! It’s is YOUR FAULT ! YOUR FAULT! 😡
Wow! The greed is incredible
SOUNDS LIKE A GREAT IDEA!
WITH THE BEST OF INTENTIONS!
What Could Possibly
Go Wrong?
If I were the governor of CA, I would have a hard time coming up with better ways to trash our state.
My grandmother was born in 1884. She told us they always dressed down to go to the doctor because they charged you based on on what they thought you could afford. Some things never change.
Doctors still do that, btw.
There is a big development on that front... Now medical care is prohibitively expensive for everyone, regardless of how you dress. Yay!!!
So your granny was dishonest?
If we had universal health care it wouldn't matter how you dress
@@mgman6000 True. It would take you 6 months to a year to get an appointment under universal healthcare.
It’s time to move out of California.
This is illegal. Tell them No!
My lowest electric bill of the year is 350 dollars and I live in a 1000 sq ft bungalow. The prices are outrageous. I am also retired so I don't have much money.
Anyone that choses to stay in California after retirement needs to take a long hard look at life and just get out.
@@Acill Actually there are ways to turn it to your advantage if you're in the right city. Working in Cali is bad because very few people can make enough money to survive, but if you're like me and inherit a paid off house in less expensive parts of Cali like in the Inland Empire area, you can live fairly good. Retirement income isn't taxed like earned income. If you live in the tristate area, you have the best of all worlds because you shop in Arizona or Nevada and still get the medical benefits of California.
Just move out to another state.
@@arinam2741 I inherited a house and acreage. I'm not giving that up. I'm buying solar panels to run my air conditioner and heater.
You recall , Newsom,, then you vote him back in 😅😅😅😅 that's what you get 😅😅
I don’t trust that they were legit “votes.”
The recall failed. Stupid Dems won't open their eyes!
we didn’t vote for him…😢 we fought to recall him in mass but our votes count for nothing
@@immortalgoss6333 That's Demockracy for you.

Sorry but 180k per year is definitely not the “very rich”, thats middle class, they will be forced to conserve while those on the dole will be ecstatic…
