I give you guys a lot of credit, I had to do time with anesthesia for intubations for my medic and I also had to do some obs time for my nursing clinical, both times it was a VERY stressful environment, and surgeons can be such inpatient babies!
What hospital do you work at and how much experience do you have? I've looked at hospitals pretty much in every major city in America and they all pay anywhere from 30-40 dollars
I’m hear to say you don’t make 6 figures in this field even as a traveler. I’m sorry I’m have to call your bluff on that. My best advice for anyone is to build your resume it’s not about what you known about who you known. Please have great relationships with people even if you don’t like the job. 10 plus years of doing the job. Love you bringing light into this field
Let's agree to disagree about how much you can make. I'm all with you about building your resume and networking. It's crazing how small the OR world is, bridges should never be burned! and thank you!

Hi, I am enrolled into a associates degree surgical technology program at my school, but they also offer a certificate program. I wanted to know what is the difference between a certificate and associates degree in surgical technology?
It's important in school, but you don't use it ever day in the field as far in depth as you learn about it. It's just so you know about cross contamination.
Please answer my question I was looking into a program in texas and this school said that it would cost 42,989.00 dollars is tat true and where did you go to school
I think maybe yall are seeing the cost of tuition for a private institution, I recommend looking into Houston Community College - the Coleman College for Health Science or San Jacinto, or Wharton community college

You definitely can make 6 figures as a travel surgical tech. $2500 per week = $100,000 per year. Not including a strike or call

Hi, I am enrolled into a associates degree surgical technology program at my school, but they also offer a certificate program. I wanted to know what is the difference between a certificate and associates degree in surgical technology?
Some States such as Maryland got rid of the certificate program so I would go for the associate degree.
If I'm not mistaken the entire US no longer accepts certificates in surgical technology.
@@dpaper7962u are so wrong. Go on indeed. They want a certificate and BLS certificate

I like at a program in California and the price was similar so it’s probably true

What about needle sticks? Have you ever had one? Are you afraid of getting some Bloodborne pathogen?
hm
do you need to take pre reqs for this type of career?
Yes CNA usually works
Is it better to get your diploma or degree ? And is there a big pay difference.?
Theres no pay differences between diploma or degree. The requirement is to complete a surgical tech program and year of experience.
Cool stuff ! Would love to see how to sterile gown and glove and choose surgical gloves
Would you recommend this career to a single mother?
As a single mom I worked as a staff surgical tech and a travel surgical tech. You'd need a support system to help out but it's possible.
I hope you sued either the surgeon or the hospital when you got poked
I was under the impression that being a Surgical Tech was a degree program
There's degree and theres certification
There are associate degree, diploma, and certificate programs.
